It Might Be You, My Darling [Volume One Completed]

Which SECRET will you keep for the rest of your life? She wakes up without a recollection of the other night's event. Krishna was horrid as realization hit her one morning. She had a one-night stand with a stranger! Why did she end up in the bed naked, pain searing all over her body, and no sight of her companion last night? As she could not comprehend what happened to her, memories of last night disappeared without a trace, whereas memories from the distant past resurfaced and muddled her head greatly. ‘What is going on? Why do I remember nothing, but I could recall some events during my childhood?’ What mystery surrounded that night, and she could not fathom being in an unfamiliar place without recollection? ~ “I want you to break up with him!” said the dude, who appeared out of nowhere. ‘The audacity of this man?’ She was pinned to the wall, and the crazy guy yelled this in her face. “What are you talking about? Do I even know you?” she snapped, glaring at the stranger. ‘Who is this guy? I don’t know him at all!’ She only wanted to enjoy the vacation she won over the lottery. However, she was being attacked by gorgeous men out of nowhere! “Who are you?” another man who blocked her in the hallway asked. “Huh? Isn’t I the one supposed to ask you this question? Who are you? I am certain we have never met before.” Even though she snapped at him, the man seemed confused by her answer. “Is that so? Then? Why do you keep appearing in my dreams?” Krishna was rendered speechless. ‘I thought this joke was outdated! Someone has still had the thick face to use for advances!’ I think I’m going crazy one of these days! First, I was mistaken for someone’s mistress. Now, I am somebody’s girlfriend. Kiss Thief

"Good night!" She didn't listen. Instead, she hurried to get out of the bedroom.

"Don't you dare move even an inch!"

Krishna was about to slam the door shut behind her when a roar sounded two meters away. 'He's near!'

"It's late already. We can talk over breakfast tomorrow!" She made up some excuses, and God knows how she regretted opening the damn door without the owner's permission.

"Turn around," George demanded.

'Now he is demanding? Ordering me around as if he owns me? How purely overbearing!'

She was tempted to glare at George, but her body remained stiff, and her feet nailed to the floor. She dares not move even with a slight motion.

"Let's just talk tomorrow!" She could not wait to leave. But she could feel the intense gaze fall on her bare back as her dress was backless.

"What's the difference between now and tomorrow? Since you were here, then speak."

George sounded cold, and his voice was getting closer to her.

Krishna closed her eyes and mustered some courage to urge the guy. "Then, at least put on some clothes!"

"Why would I listen to you?" George raised a brow. Amusement showed in his eyes, which Krishna missed seeing when she remained rooted on the floor.

'Hah!' He noticed her ears become red. The corner of his mouth lifted subconsciously, thinking it was a great night to tease her.

"I went to bed naked. Should I be the one to make adjustments here?" George added, leaning on Krishna to whisper in her ear.

Krishna's body quivered instantly as she felt George's warm breath fanned on her earlobe.

'This crazy man!' she glared at George sideways, mumbling. 'Can I punch him?'

She wished to do so. However, the truth was screaming out loud that she had already sold a part of her life to this guy.

Indeed, if only she knew he was the man that night, her life was already tangled with him after she gave birth to his son.

As she is oblivious, Krishna stood on her belief that she must keep her dignity, though she was labeled as a loose woman after being pregnant without knowing her son's father.

"Fine! At least wrap yourself with something!" Since George would not let her go, she must face him with her head held high.

"I'm done."

"Really?" She noticed that George's voice was a little farther this time.

"Why don't you turn around?" he instructed her, but his tone was actually a tease.

Krishna was reluctant to do so. Unhurriedly, she turned around and found the guy leisurely lounging on a settee.

Krishna sighed with relief when George's lower body was wrapped with a bath towel, the same towel he had dried his hair a little while back.

At that moment, she wanted to smack herself for being too obvious that she was uncomfortable seeing a naked guy.

What happened to her that night, isn't it right that she is cautious now?

However, could she remain her sanity intact?

Exhibiting in front of her is a perfect figure of a man sculpted from Hercules' body and the possibility he is Apollo's descendant.

Now that George's hair was drenched, it stretched straight from slightly curly.

'He is Irish-French, right? And a part Greek because of his mother's side?'' She seemed to hear someone mentioning the Graham men yesterday. 'Ah! It was that time Stella and I visited the spa!'

"You were drooling from staring at my eight packs. I would not mind doing the honor of wiping your mouth dry."

"You…" She wished she could dig a hole and hide it. Worse, her hand subconsciously reached for her mouth to check that George only teased her.

Krishna was so mad when her mouth was dry. She had the desire to kick the guy on his loins. But upon thinking of the thing between his thighs, her cheeks were burning red from embarrassment due to her indecent imagination.

'And why would he proudly tell me he sleeps naked!'

'Besides, I don't remember how I made my son! Of course, I am curious how I made love to that man. But I just woke up with a hangover, naked and alone on the bed. Sometimes I wanted to remember what happened that night. Unfortunately, everything is hazy.'

"You can stare at me all you want. I won't charge you one billion dollars each hour. I could sit here all night if it pleases you the scenery."

George curled his lips. His eyes flickered, and it was obvious that he was flirting with her.

However, Krishna overlooked it. Instead, she had no time to notice that this was his other way of teasing her.

Rolling her eyes, Krishna sneered in her heart. She felt too ridiculous being this guy's pet. And she would not allow him to do what pleases him.

"Humph!" Krishna crossed her arms above her chest and marched toward the accent chair across from the guy. She leaned back, placed one leg above the other, and lifted her chin.

Except for the boho dresses, short pants, and spaghetti strap crop tops, the clothes delivered to her were sexy lingeries. She chose the silk dress since she was going to bed. But she forgot to wear a robe atop it when she left the bedroom and rushed here out of the blue. Now it's too late to cover her bosom when traces that she gave birth and breastfeed an infant were visible.

She wanted to hide them, but it was already apparent that George had been staring at her chest.

'What is he thinking now? Should I explain about my son?'

'Would he presume my child is Florian's?'

'What if I told him that the father of my child was my deceased fiance?'

'Did he already find the truth after checking my background?'

These are the questions bothering her. And she has the feeling that George is already investigating her. Then, she must not tell a lie.

'Well, I hope he soon finds out I am no one's mistress.'

She wanted to end their bickering. She was tired of dealing with him already. She preferred to work together with him in peace.

Well, she admitted that money could indeed buy someone.

George paid for her service, even though she didn't do an actual job for him yet.

But she could not reject his offer because she needed it badly to support and raise her son.

'Am I now considering myself as one of those escort girls?'

Having this thought, Krishna clenched her right hand. She felt disappointed in herself that she was becoming like those gold diggers.

Where is this righteousness and honor she was talking about to herself?

"Are we going to stare at each other all night? No problem with me." He may have said this, but it becomes a lie.

Honestly, George was okay with it at first. But as time passed, his gaze couldn't ignore those bouncing chests that fascinated his eyes, which sent warning signals to every nerve of his body—then, a red light flared above his head.

As George spoke, Krishna was pulled back to her senses. She coughs to hide her flustered face. Suddenly, she felt that the room seemed to become hotter.

'No. I should not be thinking of anything.' Krishna shook her head as she breathed in and out to calm her nerves.

She straightened her back and met George's intense gaze. She asked, "Why did you wire more money to me? What are you planning to do with me?"

"Nothing."

His flat one-word of statement dumbfounded Krishna. 'What does that mean?!'

She would instead feel tension than know nothing. It would be better if George would be straightforward with her.

"Enlightened me. I don't want to keep guessing when we are together."

It sounds fair, but George could not reveal the truth to her yet.

Besides, if Camilla knew his moves, she would have learned that he killed Krishna's fiance, who had the same name as him.

Not only that, George Mendez was once his good friend, and he thought he could trust him. But he is wrong.

"I've already told you. Just stand pretty beside me." He told Krishna and concealed how he had loathed George Mendez his whole life.

'How could he kill me after we've been through together?'

As George recollected the past, Krishna was left confused.

'What did he mean by that? Stay pretty beside him? Is he declaring I become his mistress or something?' Krishna could not utter a reply but was lost in her thoughts.

"Just do what I am telling you," said George afterward. He retracted his gaze from Krishna and turned to the beautiful moon in the clear night skyline.

"I'm not an escort." Krishna scowled. She was in great frustration at the moment. "You can find someone else who is willing to be your woman or pretend whatsoever... As you can see, my background isn't that impressive. You will only lose face once people learn about my life."

Aside from being a single mother, she is just a simple ranch girl and owns a small farm. There is no greatness in her identity.

George stared at Krishna's bare face. He was searching for a solution to his dilemma.

'This woman… Others would hide the skeleton inside their closets to impress me. But she dared to turn down my offer?'

Frustration creeps into his chest. He wanted to dig a pit and bury her. As he could not decide how to handle her, George suddenly stood from the sofa, which startled Krishna.

It's too late for her to react. George has already shortened their distance. Now he was leaning over her while both palms cupped her jawline and covered her lips with his.

George kissed her!?

Before she could regain her senses, George had already released her and uttered,

"There… You are my official girlfriend. Now get out."

"Huh?" Krishna was still in a trance. Everything is still in slow motion, and her heart is beating wildly. 'What was that?'

She was trying to process what George had said after the kiss. Before she could utter one word of objection, the door in the bathroom shut loudly.

"Hey!" She needs an explanation! But the guy is now hiding in the bathroom! "What do you mean by that?!"

'Kiss Thief!'
