A Horrible Plan

[Okay.] My response to Camilla.

I'm immersed in typing on my phone and paying less attention to my surroundings. Thus, I did not notice someone was throwing a murderous glare at me.

When I looked up, I saw a pair of blue eyes blazing in a fury. It peeved the woman when George kicked her out of her seat and gave it to me.

Initially, I planned to smile at her, but now my mind has changed. I lowered my gaze to ignore her presence and replied to Camilla's latest message.

Unconsciously, I picked up my cutlery when a fork appeared before my face and shoved a piece of a pancake into my mouth.

I looked up and discovered that it was the crazy guy. I asked, "What are you doing?"

"Ahh…" Crazy George gestured for me to open my mouth, and it irritates me when he treats me like a child.

"Stop it!" I lowered my voice but failed to hide my embarrassment. "I'm not a kid!"

"Aren't you one?"

'Obviously, I don't act childish like you!' I was irked by what he said.

However, it dissipated soon when it reached my ears his sexy chuckles that caused my heart to skip a beat. I felt a shiver in my back, thinking that this guy was hot.

Having the crazy thought, I give myself some scolding and keep my sanity in check.

"You seemed to imitate those spoiled brat kids I know who did not stop playing on their gadgets, even during supper. They waited for their nannies to shove the food in their mouth."

His reasons put me in an awkward situation. It even mortified me how this crazy guy was deliberately spouting nonsense. I felt like I wanted to dig a hole to hide.

"I can eat on my own," I muttered softly. Everyone was staring at me, and it made me uncomfortable. Yet, the guy was persistent. He insisted I eat the piece of pancake he was shoving in my mouth.

Embarrassed, I sweep my gaze to the table. The rest had awkward expressions on their faces, but Stella was smiling sweetly. Yet, I had a glimpse of envy in her eyes, and I understood why she felt that way.

Florian ignored her most of the time; thus, she craved his attention, and she must yearn for some intimacy, even just a pretense.

"Open your mouth. Ahh…" George is persistent, and I have this lingering desire to smack him in the head.

"Stop it! You made me embarrassed." I was too shy to accept the pancake under everyone's gaze. Yet, the crazy guy left me with no choice but to open my mouth.

"There!" Crazy George beamed after I ate the pancake he shoved on my face.

I was stunned, staring at his beautiful smile. If he didn't offer me to pretend to be his girlfriend, I might believe something had happened overnight that improved his mood.

Unfortunately, it was all an act. This crazy guy hates me, so there is no way that he would be nice to me.

"I can eat on my own." I asserted.

I am also persistent in rejecting his attempts for the second time. I would no longer let him embarrass me further.

I ate quietly and finished the pancake, bacon, and ham with two pieces of toasted bread on my plate. I whipped some blueberry jelly and munched a couple of cheese cubes. I stuffed my mouth with some berries, grapes, and cubes of mangoes, then finished two cups of hot chocolate.

Indeed, I was famished; thus, I did not care if I enjoyed my breakfast.

"Krishna, I want you to meet Melinda Cortez."

Halfway through breakfast, Stella called me and introduced the woman across from me.

However, I don't know how to interact with her when she doesn't hide her dislike for me. The way she narrowed her gaze, it was apparent how jealous she was of me.

Regardless, I don't want to embarrass Stella. I pursed my lips and squeezed a smile. Yet, the woman only glared at me and made nasty comments.

"Where did you find her, George? She looks ordinary to me." Melinda criticized me nonstop. But it even infuriated her when I only ignored her babbling nonsense.

This kind of person doesn't need to remind me every single day of my status in this society. I am tired of listening to someone whenever somebody mentions that their world differs from mine.

'Why don't they leave Earth if they think peasants should not breathe the same air as they were breathing?'

I found it too ridiculous.

I have not climbed the ladder to socialize with their kind. These are the people I don't want to meet because they are full of hypocrisy.

In my recollection, Crazy George hates a person who is a liar and deceives someone. Then? What is he doing now?

Isn't he spreading lies about our fake relationship?

I thought he wanted me to help him separate Stella and Florian. Now, what? I could not fathom what he was thinking this morning.

I was lost in my thoughts and did not notice that George had berated Melinda.

"Who are you to speak to my girlfriend this way?"

"George! Do you think your grandmother would be happy after discovering what kind of woman your girlfriend is?" Melinda argued with George, and we started gaining attention from other guests.

"No one can dictate who I want to have a relationship with." George was making this speech while I was drinking some water.

At first, I didn't put much thought into what he was saying, but the words he added shocked the hell out of me.

"I am marrying Krishna, and no one could stop me. Even my parents."

Listening to the bickering, I could not prevent the lightning from striking me out of nowhere.

'This guy is going too far from our pretense!'

"Let's go." George made an abrupt stand from his chair. Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me up.

I was lost then, but I followed him to escape from the tension at that table. I have been thinking about how to make an excuse to leave. I am glad the guy bet on me and even took me away.

'I give him credit for making a move.'

George led me toward the elevator and brought me to the parking lot. In the whole scenario, something is odd about him.

I just noticed, and I proved I was not hallucinating. The guy is actually gentle even though we are not pretending anymore. In fact, he was treating me with care when we entered and got out of the elevator.

When we arrived at his car, he opened the passenger seat and held my head so as not to bump into the roof, which was a little low because we were about to ride in his sports car.

'Did he have an accident last night, got a concussion, and have amnesia? Why is he too gentle with me?'

Having this assumption, I searched for possible paparazzi hiding in the parking lot.

"What are you doing?" George is already in the driver's seat and puts on his seatbelt.

He noticed I hadn't fastened mine, so he leaned over, startling me.

But I only misunderstood his intention; it left me embarrassed that his only plan was to fasten my seat belt. I was only overthinking things.

To cover the awkwardness between us. I faked a cough and made my excuse, saying I was looking around, so maybe there were paparazzi, the reason he was too sweet to me.

George flashed a glare in my direction before he burst out laughing. Then, he uttered, "Can't I be myself? You don't know me well, and soon you'll find out more about me?"

"Why should I?" His statement is supposed to shock me, but I am more confused and trying to figure out what is happening.

George has yet to respond to me. He turned the engine and drove the car out of the parking lot. I noticed three black vehicles following us.

Concern exhibited on my face, and George noticed it.

"Relax. They are my bodyguards."

"Oh." Upon hearing that, I let out a breath of relief.

"What are you worried about?" George queried while his eyes focused on the road.

"Nothing. I just remembered what you told me about yesterday."

Through the morning traffic, we finally arrived at our destination after less than an hour.

George brought me to the south harbor, where a massive five-story resort stood majestically on the cliff.

The landscape was exquisite, and I noticed several golf carts running around. I realized there was a golf course down the hill in the eastern part of the resort.

George actually brought me to a Country Club.

When we arrived in the private room, George toured me around, and I learned he owned this resort.

'Why did he bring me here? I am going to die here?' Now I am anxious about what he plans to do with me.

He is wrong to think that his cousin would look for me. I am not the mistress!

I know I am being weird now, having all these scenarios in my head. Maybe the crazy guy was nice to me because he had a horrible plan. Who knows?

"I have a meeting with my business partner soon. You can stay in my bedroom."

When I heard the word bedroom, my soul wanted to jump out of my body. I wondered what kind of bedroom he had.

'Gosh. Why am I overthinking already? But what if he strangles me to death? What did he expect to happen?' I could not stop myself keep overthinking. 'I better familiarize this place in case I need an escape plan.'

My eyes wandered throughout the spacious room. There is a minibar on the left side. Then, a living space on the right side, a round dining table near the floor-ceiling window on the left, and a conference space next to it.

There are a few steps that lead to a hallway. I guessed it headed to the bedroom, and I was correct after George ushered me there.

The bedroom has a King sized bed, an office table, and a few shelves. Then, a bathroom and a wardrobe. I think the crazy guy stayed here last night.

Everything was already here: a Plasma TV, computer, and books to read. Plus, the breathtaking indoor balcony faces the ocean.

I thought the classic interior design in my presidential suite was incomparable. However, this modern suite is impressive.

"Stay here."
