Chapter 64

Fifteen minutes later, the rusted fence was rolled high enough for Dad to go under it without any problems and the only problem Danuja was dealing with were the small cuts on her palm that weren't even bleeding. They were just aching stubbornly.

Danuja turned back, cracking her back before anything else, looking at Kana who was looking through a cabinet, gloves and mask on. Despite her slightly red eyes she didn't look like she didn't want to be there. Her eyes where sparkling happily while looking at her or maybe that was just Danuja imagination from inhaling too much dust.

'' Did you find anything?'' Danuja asked squatting behind her, looking over her head at the cabinet

'' There are some bags with flowers soil and a small bag with roses seeds.'' Kana said taking out the small bag and giving it to Danuja. They looked a little too much like wheat for comfort. '' There are small shovels, a little rusted but still useful.'' she said pointing at a corner inside the cabinet.

Beside those things, the inside of the cabinet itself looked clean.

'' What should we do with those?'' Kana asked pointing at the desks and chairs that Danuja put in one of the room corners after making sure the dust on them wasn't there anymore.

'' Well-''

'' You already begin cleaning?'' Sasaki-sensei asked looking at both of them in surprise before shaking his head in disbelief

'' That's right.'' Danuja said wishing that she could stuff her hands in some pockets if she had any '' What should we do with the desks and chairs from there? Does the school needs them or I can throw them out?'' she said her lip quirking up when Kana hissed at her in worry.

'' Ah those-'' the man said waving a hand nonchalantly ''- you can just leave them in the hallway, same with any broken tools you had there. The Cleaning Club will deal with them, though if you have any garbage bags, go with them outside and throw them in the bin.'' for a moment he looked emptily ahead, clearly trying to remember something, making Danuja look at Kana amused

'' Oh right.'' Sasaki-sensei said snapping his fingers before looking pointily at both of them '' If either of you find some...things. Keep them.'' he said before smiling widely at them clearly done with them '' Have a good day.''

Danuja put her arm around a wide eyed Kana, guiding her out of the teacher lounge nodding at whatever Sasaki-sensei said next before walking with Kana back at their and it was theirs Club room. 

'' Did our teacher just suggest we should keep um-'' Kana tried to say fumbling a little confused looking at Danuja with wide eyes

'' Cigarette's, suspicious bottles and possible weed?'' Danuja said shrugging looking at Kana amused 

'' Weed? Like, like drugs?'' Kana said plush lips parting in surprises making Danuja look just a little too long at them before clearing her throat

'' Well, it was a gardening club.'' Danuja said amused, grinning when Kana huffed a laugh before laughing freely, her body pressed on Danuja's while she giggled away

It was a good idea  Danuja thought pleasant

They cleaned up the place between breaks because Kana didn't want Danuja to miss anymore classes. Apparently, one was enough for a day. 

And Danuja was blessed every pause with Kana laugh and giddy attitude.

At the end of the day, when Danuja throw out all those desks and chairs that were just awful to look at, together with garbage bags filled with grass and general dirt, the two girls were waiting at the gate, waves of students going past them.

'' It was fun.'' Kana said quietly, squatting beside her, Danuja jacket still on her shoulders and polling around her on the ground 

'' It should take at last a week to get it done.'' Danuja said smiling when Kana hummed happily at her side 

'' We should bring some blankets too.'' Kana said shivering, hugging the jacket closer to herself before leaning her cheek on her arm. The sight made Danuja heart beat faster and she was sure if it wasn't for Dad sudden arriving Danuja would have done something foolish.

Like tracing Kana features with her fingers. For now.

'' Sit down.'' Danuja said a little sternly when he looked ready to jump at her excited

'' Danuja-san.'' Kana said back pouting at her making Danuja sigh

'' He it's all dirty Kana.'' she said nodding at the muddy dog with some leaves stuck in his hair. There was no way Kana would have his dirty paws all over her clothes even though Danuja jacket was almost covering her whole. '' What do we need blankets for?'' she asked trying to change the subject, letting Dad head stuck on her calf despite the marks. It wasn't like her uniform could get anymore dirty.

'' For his bed of course.'' Kana said looking at Danuja confused

'' Huh?''

Whose bed she though before following Kana gaze till she stopped at Dad form who was looking curiously at them

'' It's colder and colder outside. We can just bring him in when the weather gets worse so we should make a bed for him in a corner.'' Kana said stroking the Irish Wolfhound between his ears making him snuggle closer in Danuja body

'' We should?'' Danuja asked still too confused but what was happening before adding at Kana uncertain look '' We should.'' she clarified, clearing her throat and smiling at Kana happy face

It's this a bad moment to tell her that he quite likes the cold?  Danuja though watching the two play at a distance, before a loud honk was heard making Dad growl and Danuja straighten up 

'' Oh.'' Kana said surprised before getting up with a smile, Danuja following her '' That my uncle, I forget he was picking me up today.'' she said chuckling before trying to shake Danuja jacket off

'' Keep it.'' Danuja said putting it back on place watching Kana redden up '' You said it yourself. It's getting colder and colder so you should keep yourself warm. I will be alright, you know I'm always running hot unlike someone.'' she said smirking when she put her hand on Kana nape watching her shiver

'' Go on.'' Danuja said after Kana nodded shyly at her, nodding towards the unfamiliar black car with tinted windows

Danuja watched Kana walk to the black car, a strange feeling in her mind before she shook her head looking down at Dad.

'' Did you heard that? You got a door and a bed now.'' Danuja said amused when he grumbled at her, walking by her side towards Hitomi-san restaurant '' Maybe now you won't get in mine every night.''
