Actions have consequences child

Frei's immediate instinct was to fight back with the little strength he had left in his body. His hand clenched tight into a fist and lunged towards Hadyn.

"Just orders from father. A son must remain grateful and obliged to their father, am I right?." He said, as he skillfully tapped the fist Frei lunged at him, diverting its trajectory and effectively evaded the light punch. "Calm down." He softly demanded.

With his fist diverted into the ground, he lunged another in hopes of hitting the crouching man. But yet again, his efforts were futile as his fist was deflected with another light tap.

"Please stop it!" He exclaimed out loud. "There's nothing nice outside this place, only common things you've seen before! Don't you know after being brought here?" He gestured with his hands, like a teacher trying to explain things or a magician trying to do magic.

Frei stayed deaf to his words as he continued to throw punches repeatedly even when Hadyn was skillfully dodging each one, effortlessly deflecting and evading the strikes thrown at him while disregarding its significance and presence.

Eventually Hadyn had enough for Frei's retaliation and grabbed the ragged shirt Frei wore as an attempt to stop him. He forcefully pulled Frei up with both of his hands to carry him but Frei's retaliation made it difficult for him to make any progress. "Stop it. Stop fighting back. STOP FIGHTING BACK!1!!" He shouted in a childish tone . "Why did nobody ever teach me how to knock a person out?" He sighed furiously, nearing the end of his patience with Frei's retaliation.

Frei's continuous motion alongside with Hadyn's desperate pulling and dragging torn the ragged shirt that he wore, revealing the numerous bruises and the contours of his rib cage that was barely concealed beneath his thin layer of skin. There were multiple bandaged parts varying in sizes, one just below the ribcage, some in the back and few on the shoulders, all soaked in red. Frei dropped down onto the grassy ground, the impact from the drop caused him to tremble and the fresh disparate air drove the mark Frei had to itch for it was completely different from the musty, suffocating air that Frei had gotten used to.

Haydn trembled when he saw Frei's crippling body. "Bloodletting? I.. I see now. So that's why father wants you." Haydn said in complete shock of what he've seen. "It's not uncommon… but how are you alive? How do you still have the energy to fight back when you look like that?"

Frei didn't reply.

"I see now." Haydn said with a pitied look.

Frei noticed the look in his eyes that was similar to hers. He hoped for a moment that Haydn would allow him to leave after seeing him, like a broken and tattered tool. Frei lowered his guard, his shoulders unstiffened itselves and his muscles loose, his eyes showed vulnerability and the hope in it grew.

Haydn noticed the display Frei had shown to him. He wanted to speak up, but then his muscles twitched, his ears rang and his senses heightened. He detected something coming with his keen mana senses. A type of mana that senses others' manas, and pinpoints its location. Haydn frowned furiously at Frei but not directed at him, after a while he relaxed and said selfishly, "Y…You can go."

His hesitation suspended Frei for a moment but when he heard his words. He had the biggest grin he ever had. He expressed his gratitude and expressed thanks to Haydn. Then he got up and hurriedly dashed towards the gate that leads the way to freedom. Even though the mark still itches and he still trembles from the stinging pain in his calf. He felt the best he'd ever been, it was a combination of both satisfaction and joy. The satisfaction comes from his plan working and the joy comes from his desire being fulfilled.

Haydn gazed as the silhouette of Frei dashing grew smaller under the yellow sun. He muttered regretfully, "It's truly a pity." Yet despite the regret in his tone, he felt satisfied.

Frei continued to run until he saw a hunched back man approaching from the outside. The joy and hope in his face dropped when he saw the man's face again. The man's face had a devilish smile, from ear to ear, his face wrinkled, his eyes were slit nearly shut yet his pupils could be felt and discern, a bright red, Frei hallucinated. His wrinkled cheeks have dimples and the eyebrows above his two eyes were curved in a way of joy and sadistic intentions.

"Oh my. Oh my. Little fortune rat trying to escape?" the old man said sadistically, while pointing his finger-blade on Frei's forehead. He leaned closer while his hands remained the same distance. His mouth widens into a bloodthirsty smile, showing the deep empty abyss of his mouth.

Frei trembled.
