Nyx

In front of me is a person I saw nor heard of in the danmachi anime. She claims to be the Goddess Nyx but I don't believe her. She can be Freya in disguise trying to claim me. Does she take me as a fool?

"It would seem that you don't believe me" she said.

I tried to speak but some invisible force is keeping me from moving a single muscle.

"Oh yeah, you can't speak... I'll release you" she told me.

I feel the invisible force lift off of me. I put estoc down and put it up in my storage space.

"Oh, my space magic~ Hmm... Aren't you gonna attack me?" she asks.

"I see no point in attacking you since you can stop me as soon as I try"

Her smirk grows wider and she nods in approval from my response.

"Ah, how I like people who have common sense" she spoke

Then I watch her smirk disappear and her facial expression turns serious.

"Now to answer your question you are asking yourself. How does she know I don't belong here? Simple I watched you come here... Your soul to be exact..." Nyx told me.

"How did you watch my soul come here?"

"Us Primordial Gods have a job and that's to watch and protect the universe barrier that separates this universe from the outside. The reason why we barely come to the heavenly realm or the mortal realm. I imagine my surprise when I see the barrier open a bit and let a mortal soul inside"Nyx told me.

" I see"

"The only order dealing with this situation is to immediately destroy whatever comes in that doesn't belong to this universe" Nyx explained.

"So I take it that you tried to destroy my soul?"

"Yep" Nyx simply said.

"So why am I'm here then?"

"I couldn't destroy your soul. A divinity stronger than mine is protecting it and camouflaging it so it appears as a soul that belongs here. If I was a normal Goddess I would fall for the trick but I'm a Primordial So I truly see things for how they are..." Nyx told me.

So that explains how she knows about how I belong here but what I want to know next is who else besides her knows that I don't belong here. It would be troublesome if I am just carrying out my day then a God defends and erases me from existence.

"Who else knows?"

"Just me and Mother..." Nyx replied

"Mother?"

"Yea my mother Chaos... I informed her about the situation and she told me to observe you. Plus a break was long overdue so for the next 5 thousand years I'm free to do whatever" Nyx explained to me.

"So you're just gonna watch me for the next 5 thousand years?"

"Correct" she simply replied.

"How is that even possible?"

A smirk appears on her face. All this tells me a deal is an order.

"You are looking for a familia correct?" Nyx asked with a grin.

"What's the catch?"

"Well, this is more in favor to you than me. It's simple, you join my familia, you get the freedom to do whatever you like, and I get to observe your soul. Maybe I can trace back the divine energy protecting back to its source" Nyx explained.

"What if I decline?"

"Mother will erase you" Nyx told me

I'll be erased if I decline or I'll live for a long time if I accept. They don't leave me with many options, don't they.

"So what will it be? Erased from existence or be the first member of my familia. Let me remind you that you're technically trespassing here and it's within our right to protect our universe" Nyx said with a serious tone.

She's right I am technically trespassing in this universe. No one would disagree that they are wrong anyway since they are nost likey the top of the pecking order here.

"I accept"

"Good now take your shirt off, lay on your stomach, and I'll begin the process" she told me.

I did as she said and laid on my stomach shirtless. I feel her get on top of me and trace her fingers down my back.

"Even your body is perfect. It would bring envy from many gods" said Nyx.

I feel something warm drop on my back and moments later her breathing sounded as if she is surprised?

"What's wrong?"

"I may know a little about falna but I'm pretty sure that this isn't normal..." she told me.

Nyx grabbed the paper from the table that's beside the bed and placed it on my back. After a few moments, she hands me the paper and she's right this isn't normal at all.

Looking at my status sheet reminds me that I am stupidly overpowered. I don't think there is a single person in this world that advanced to level 3 when they got a falna.

"Nyx..."

"Yes?" she replied.

"When we get new members to the familia do not use me as a basis to be what's expected when you view their status sheet"

"Trust me I won't" Nyx responded.

Nyx got off my back and stood beside the bed. Her dress black dress and jewelry in her hair disappeared. At the same time, a white nightgown covers her. She then proceeds to get on the bed.

"Scooch" Nyx simply said.

"You not gonna sleep beside me are you?"

"Problem"

"... I'm gonna get another room..."

"What are you scared to sleep beside me? You should consider it an honor" Nyx said boasting.

"..."

Nyx's face deadpans and she squints her eyes a little.

"Your really scared aren't you..." Nyx asks.

"Sorry, it's just that a person I know didn't like for me to be around women in this way"

"She sounds lovely" Nyx jokes.

If you knew her she would try to kill you then me after she is done with you. I'm pretty sure her wrath is one of the things I rather go through the torture training again than endure.

"You two sound like you have a very good relationship" said Nyx.

"Yes and No... We care a lot about each other but due to my former and her current occupation, we couldn't have an official relationship..."

I see interest in Nyx's eyes as if she wanted more of the juicy details on my love life.

"May I ask what is your former occupation?" Nyx asks.

"Assassination"

"I see" Nyx simply said.

"I don't mind you sleeping beside me just nothing intimate, please"

"Oh~ Being loyal despite being probably entire universes away~" said Nyx a bit seductively.

"To me, it's only been 5 days since I last saw her"

"Ok I get but I wasn't gonna do anything. I am just joking with you" Nyx explained.

Nothing more is said and I move over on the bed to give Nyx room. She gets in the bed and wraps up. I'm still a bit tired from today so I fall asleep but I feel a bit bad for leaving Yuko behind. I know she is taking my death hard very hard. I can only pray she doesn't commit suicide...

(Next Day, Morning)

I wake up with the morning sun in my face a bit. I feel that Nyx is awake and is sitting up beside me. I must have slept heavily if I didn't feel her move. I have slept in a cave before I came here so it's probably a given. I turn and see Nyx eating a strange apple that looks like a galaxy

(A/N: here's what he sees right now)

"Morning"

"Morning" she said taking another bite out of the galaxy apple

"What are you eating?"

"A night sky apple" she responds taking one more bite and it just disappears

Nyx got out of the bed and stretched a bit then a black and purple outfit magically appeared on her. It is a black sweater similar to my own, black and purple tights, and black boots.

"You sure you wanna go out in tights?"

"Is there a problem with the way I dress?" Nyx asked.

"No, but your gonna catch a lot more attention than you normally will if people see you especially men"

"True" Nyx says

She swapped the tights for black jeans.

"I'm gonna step out so you can change" Nyx told me before she walked out of the room.

Once she stepped out I brought the big metal case out. I opened it and looked at the armor inside. Never thought I'll put this on in my last life. I put on Death Gun's armor and mask and look at a nearby mirror. I look intimidating but I'm not gonna wear the mask right now so I took it off. Nyx comes back in and looms me up and down observing the armor.

"You make that armor look nice and that mask in your and looks like it would install fear in the hearts of many" said Nyx.

"You ready to go?"

"Yeah I'm a bit hungry so let's head to the Hostess Of Fertility. I know the way since I passed it yesterday sightseeing"

I pull out my face mask and put away Death Gun's and headed out. After getting some breakfast it's time to go into the dungeon.
