Chapter 19: Cheap vinyl flooring and Supermarket shopping

"Then can we look at vinyl flooring next? We have tiles all over the house but I am not a fan of the design." Bai Yi Yang said to Uncle Zhou.

Bai Yi Chen was taken aback. Aren't they only looking at roof tiles? Haven't they spend enough money yet? But he still follow behind the two talking in front.

"Yi Yang, you are really ahead of time. Many people here are still not looking at vinyl flooring now, they think it will look fake compared to real tiles with marbling or real wood. But Uncle find it convenient, it is cheaper too." Uncle Zhou again look at Bai Yi Yang with a new light.

People in this town still doesn't prefer vinyl flooring. Well they also didn't promote it as much as tiles since their factory is producing tiles. Hahaha.

"Do you have a lot of design available?" Bai Yi Yang asked.

"A lot, because it doesn't sell really well." Uncle Zhou said half joking.

Bai Yi Yang laugh at Uncle Zhou witty comments.

They arrived at the flooring section and there are rows of vinyl flooring pattern. She already has basic ideas on the interior design of their house so she choose two different patterns, for the kitchen and laundry area, she choose marbling pattern with mainly white colour mixed with grey and black. Then for the main house and east house, she choose more white grey colour. That is because it can fit with most colour while decorating.

Uncle Zhou quickly calculate it, minus the area that they didn't need after Bai Yi Chen estimate the size of those rooms.

It was sold quite cheap, 25 yuan per 1 m2. So estimated total for all area that Bai Yi Yang wanted to be covered are 4,800 yuan. Uncle Zhou said that the installation fee will be free since their warehouse is promoting the product that not many people are interested in yet.

Finally, Bai Yi Yang feels satisfied with her purchase. The three of them went into the office to settle the payment.

Their company rules are simple, half will be payed first before products is delivered or installed, then the rest will be payed after the customer did inspection on the finished work. Bai Yi Yang like it very much, it is only fair like this.

So Bai Yi Yang payed for 100 m2 roof tiles which is 13,900 yuan and 2,400 yuan for the vinyl flooring first as the deposit. The workers salary will be given after the installation is finished.

By the time they walk out after finished doing all the paperworks, then signing the warranty, it was already 15 minutes past 5.00 pm. The shop is closing, only waiting for the last few customers to leave.

Uncle Zhou quickly tidy up his desk and took his truck key, he still remember that he promised the Bai siblings a ride.

Bai Yi Yang head to the staff restroom to pick her siblings. Sister Ah Huang is also inside playing with her phone and the three children is asleep.

Bai Yi Yang woke up Bai Yi Ling softly. After that she lift up Xiao Mo first into his left side and ask Bai Yi Ling to help her put Fang Fang onto her right. With the two younger ones one in each hand she said her thanks to sister Ah Huang.

Ah Huang mouth was wide opened, she almost forgot to reply Bai Yi Yang. That small body can lift two children that big easily like nothing. She really shouldn't underestimate people easily.

Bai Yi Chen didn't go inside the restroom so when he saw the two asleep children each leaning on Bai Yi Yang small shoulder, he quickly took Xiao Mo from her arms. He also want to take Fang Fang but Bai Yi Yang stopped him. Bai Yi Chen free hands hold onto Bai Yi Ling who is also still half-awake before going out.

Uncle Zhou is already waiting outside his truck.

Since there were limited seat, Bai Yi Fang and Bai Yi Mo each was seated on their older sibling lap while Bai Yi Ling sit in the middle.

The two seater seat next to the driver seat now fit 5 people. It was indeed a bit too crowded but it didn't stop the two kids to continue sleeping.

Only when they stop at the hardware store to take the things they purchase did the two kids woke up, still a bit low spirited. They really used up their energy today.

Bai Yi Chen and Uncle Zhou went off the truck to load the things to the back. They tied the bicycle with rope and covered all the stuff with canvas. Only then they continue on the road.

"The supermarkets is opened until 9.00 pm. People here are still active at night." Uncle Zhou said.

"We went to G supermarket one time at night and your Grandma was scolding us nonstop because she said it wasn't a good habit to be outside at night." Uncle Zhou add.

"Grandma Zhou is used to living in the village. When the sun goes down, people also didn't come out anymore." Bai Yi Chen said.

"This time we will go at another supermarket, next time lets go to G supermarket. If we go there now, we will be crushed." Uncle Zhou said.

"What is a supermarket?" The clueless Bai Yi Fang asked.

"They sells a lot of things, most of it are foods." Uncle Zhou answer.

"Then jiejie is going to buy us ice cream there?" Bai Yi Fang eyes widened, so does Bai Yi Mo. Their low spirit just now disappeared.

"Jiejie, please.." Bai Yi Mo chimed in.

"Of course, I already promised you. Remember what I said about promise?" Bai Yi Fang said.

"En, en. If we already promise then we must fulfil it, if we are not sure about it then must ask. Jiejie and gege is not unreasonable." Bai Yi Mo answer. It leaves quite an impression about the words that Bai Yi Yang told them.

"Clever boy." Bai Yi Yang praise.

"You taught your siblings good things." Uncle Zhou comment. She teach them the right one that most people will forget to teach their children.

After chatting for a while, they arrived at the supermarket, Uncle Zhou let them buy things there first. Uncle Zhou is going to stay to look for their things at the back.

"Take your time, uncle has already told my family that I will be back late." Uncle Zhou said. The Bai siblings didn't reject the kind offer, so they all head to the supermarket.

Bai Yi Yang went straight for a trolley and put Bai Yi Fang on the baby seat. Then she asked Bai Yi Mo to look after the two behind her.

The sibling went to the laundry supplies area first and Bai Yi Yang choose brands that she is familiar with, she bought large size liquid detergents, softeners, bleach and stain remover.

If she cannot reach things she will ask the tall Bai Yi Chen. With their teamworks, they quickly move to other sections where she quickly choose shower cream, loofah, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste for adult and children, new toothbrush, mouthwash, shaving cream for men…which she put back after seeing that Bai Yi Chen doesn't seems to need it.

Then she moved onto the cleaning supply, all purpose cleaner, a few bottles of wood cleaner, tile cleaner and toilet bowl cleaner.

She then ask Bai Yi Chen to run towards another section in the supermarket to go get the mop, broom and dustpan, rubber gloves, and toilet brush as she continue at the same aisle and took dish soap and sponge.

Then she let Bai Yi Ling hold Bai Yi Mo hand and walk in front of her to the food section. Bai Yi Yang only took the really necessary things for now since they don't have place to keep it yet.

But she pick quite a lot of snacks for herself and the children, it is too sad that they don't have snacks to eat while they lay around in the afternoon and at night. The children was excited, they want everything if possible. This is a never before opportunity that they have, even Bai Yi Ling never experience it.

How to say this, their parents is very good, but they are not like how Bai Yi Yang and Bai Yi Chen treat them, Bai Yi Yang give them a lot of freedom, not in a bad way, more like getting them involved in things.

Bai Yi Fang and Bai Yi Mo is not raised by their parents, well yes, for 4 years at most. So their character is not influenced by their parents, they have their own traits. If you look at it carefully, Bai Yi Chen, Bai Yi Ling and even the old Bai Yi Yang, they are all quiet, not the social type, even a little too timid for good. So you can guess from this how they were raised. Anyway, Bai Yi Ling is just not used to it.

When Bai Yi Yang gave each of them a quota of 3 types of snacks each did they choose carefully with difficulty. This is one of their deepest dilemma in their childhood, choosing the best out of the best snacks. Bai Yi Yang laugh at the sight, she give them time to choose while waiting for Bai Yi Chen.

He returns with a new trolley and Bai Yi Mo quickly asked to sit on the child seat.Bai Yi Ling is obedient, so Bai Yi Yang didn't worry about her walking around on her own. As a reward, she bought her and extra snacks in secret. It was the one that she put back because she only have three quota.

They quickly head to the frozen and fresh meat section. After buying a whole chicken, they didn't buy anything else and head straight to the counter to pay.

While the stuff are being scanned one by one, Bai Yi Mo suddenly exclaimed.

"Ice cream!" He said. They all actually forgot about that.

"Little friends, the ice cream is over there.." The cashier smile at she pointed at the fridge full with different type of ice cream.

Bai Yi Yang nod and ask the three to choose quickly so the people behind won't wait, as a result the children choose one randomly based on the colour.

Their stuff came out as a long list in the receipt, Bai Yi Chen never shop this much before. Bai Yi Yang payed more than 600 yuan.

On the way back to Uncle Zhou truck, Bai Yi Mo comment something that makes Bai Yi Yang speechless.

"Now that I think about it, my bicycle is much cheaper than our grocery.." He said.

Bai Yi Yang laugh at it. That was indeed true. But the things they buy is useful for then to clean the house spotless before renovation.

Uncle Zhou was ready to wait longer but they return after 20 minutes or so.

"So fast?" Uncle Zhou helped Bai Yi Chen move the things from the trolley.

"Not that much things to buy." Bai Yi Yang said.

Uncle Zhou face palmed, this much is not considered a lot? He laugh awkwardly.

On they way back, the children ate their ice cream, Bai Yi Mo was a bit unlucky because he got the sour flavour that he didn't really like. He ends up giving it to Bai Yi Ling and eat half of Bai Yi Ling vanilla ice cream.
