Chapter 4: Eden

We walk into the house.  There's music blaring, Teenagers drinking, any adults worst nightmare.

Lezlie and I grab a seat on a couch. She starts to say

"So this is a high school party? Neat. I'm gonna go see if they got some snacks!" She gets up to go see. I'm alone for a little bit, then for a bit, then for a while. Now I'm worried. I get up to go look for her. I don't want to incur the wraith of Luci.  It takes a bit but I finally find her, in the corner with like 5 cups, on the floor.  I sit down beside her. She doesn't notice me at first but when she does

"Ohhhhh! Jacobbbbb! It's been too long, I miszzed you."

"Lezlie, I thought you agreed to Luci not to drink too much."

"Oh it's fineeeee. I'm fineeeee. Some guy have me this mixture drink and it was REALLY good.

So I just had to have another. Then another. And another. You get the picture. Did you know her name isn't Luci, it's Lucinda but she doesn't think it's cool enough so she just says her name is Luci but I know her dirty little secret.

HEY EVERYONE LUCIS NAME IS ACT-" I put my hand over her mouth. I look at her, she's struggling to get my hand off. I take it off and she says

"What was that forrr? Come on Mann why you gotta kill the vibbeee"

"Well Luci's already gonna kill me for letting you drink too much and I don't want her to find out I let her friend also tell everyone what her real name is."

"Silly Billy she's not my friend, she's my sister. She's older than me by 1 minuteee. She always brings it up like it matters."

"I have a younger brother. His name's Coron. He's a little punk but he's still my brother."

"Ooooo, is he as cute as you...whoops did I say that?" I blush intensely.

"Y'know I always thought you were kinda cute, and also kinda hot" she says as she forces herself on me and starts kissing me.

I push her off me. I know she's drunk but I'm not ready for that.

"Lezlie, I think you're very sweet and pretty, but I'm not ready for anything like that! I mean we barely know each other!"

She looks like she's about to say something, but instead she just pukes.

I walk her home. She's out of it. When we get to the house, she turns to me and says

"Please stay over. I don't want to be alone tonight"

"You need some rest." I tell her.

"Please?" She says with a sorrow in her eyes.

"Alright but I need to ask my mom. She should be off by now. Here just sit on the steps." I lock my bike on a rack and pull my phone to dial my mom.  The phone rings and rings until she finally picks up.

"Sweetie, where are you?"

"I'm at a friend's place, is it alright if I stay over?"

"You're lucky it's the weekend mister. Considering you've never stayed over anywhere, you can. Just make sure to be careful."

"I will.....love you."

"I love you too"

I hang up and put my phone away. I help Lezlie up the stairs and she hands me her keys. I unlock the door and turn the lights on. It's a nice place.

"Where's your bedroom?" I ask her.

She points upstairs so we slowly go up there.

"The green door" she says quietly.

I open it and put her down on the bed. I tuck her in. Right as I'm about to leave the room she says to me

"Can you sing me a song? They always help me sleep better." Normally I don't sing in front of people, but I'll make an exception this one time.

She looks like she's about to cry.

"That was beautiful. Thank you."

"Goodnight Lezlie" I say to her.

"Goodnight Jacob"  I close the door and fall asleep on the couch.
