Chapter 49 - Dealing with Kai's Berserk

With a feigned cough, Luke collected his thoughts, his demeanor serious.

"I've conducted a thorough search of your residence, and unfortunately, he has not yet returned. Rest assured, I'll personally accompany you to the forest in his place."

Although he opted for a small fabrication, his intentions were firmly rooted in Kai's well-being.

Turning to Mira and Lunaria, he informed them briefly of his impending absence.

In these moments, Luke found solace in the scarcity of customers. It spared him from needless hassles and granted him the freedom to act as he pleased.

Initially, he allowed Kai to wear the Mirage Shifter Ring, which concealed his distinctive ears and tail. He then guided the disguised Kai outdoors, a responsibility he willingly undertook.

Ophelia, however, chose to accompany them. Her curiosity drove her desire to witness everything unfold. But her motivations extended deeper.
