Chapter 5: Killing the Boss

Wu Tian felt very wise as sitting and waiting paid off: by killing three high-level dying demon beasts, his level skyrocketed from level 1 martial artist to level 11 in just a few days. This was a huge achievement considering he was only a level 1 martial artist before. He was overjoyed to have regained his previous strength so quickly.

Having gained these benefits, Wu Tian decided to continue waiting from a distance, but he became increasingly frustrated when not a single demon beast flew by for a whole day.

"Sss!" It was at this moment that Wu Tian heard a strange and rapid noise approaching.

All the high-level demon beasts outside the cave became uneasy and even started to flee.

Boom! Soon after, sounds like the earth shaking and mountains splitting echoed in the air. Wu Tian looked towards the direction of the noise and saw numerous large trees falling and a huge crack appearing on the ground.

"What is coming out of the ground?!" Wu Tian was amazed at what he saw.

Boom! Countless flying rocks splattered, and a 3-zhang long and 8-foot thick black python broke through the ground. All the surrounding demon beasts scattered in all directions.

Sss! After the python broke through the ground, it spewed out crimson gas and headed straight for the cave.

"Oh my god! This is bad! It's a level 9 demon beast, the Black Dragon Python!" Wu Tian was shocked to see the black python and quickly retreated. This was not the time to sit and wait for opportunities. Even just one move could be fatal, considering a level 9 demon beast had appeared.

As Wu Tian was retreating, the black python had already rushed to the entrance of the cave.

"Roar!" A deafening roar echoed from the cave, followed by a blast of air cannon.

Boom! The massive body of the Black Dragon Python collapsed heavily on the ground and dragged itself for dozens of zhang before finally stopping. The area it passed through was all in ruins.

"Sss!" The Black Dragon Python let out a terrifying hiss and twisted its huge body towards the cave entrance.

At this moment, a silver giant wolf rushed out of the cave. The silver giant wolf was shining with a faint silver light, and its eyes were extremely fierce.

Wu Tian's eyes widened in amazement, "Silver Wolf! It's another level nine monster, no wonder it's so fierce!"

Suddenly, the Black Dragon Python's massive tail came crashing down on the Silver Wolf, slamming it into the mountain with tremendous force. The impact shook the entire mountain, causing half of it to collapse.

The fighting between the two level nine monsters caused nearby monsters to become restless, and they began to flee.

The two monsters continued to battle fiercely for a day and a night, using various skills such as air cannons, wind blades, venom projectiles, and earth spikes. The once lush and fertile mountain was reduced to a desolate wasteland.

Under the immense power of the monsters, anything that came near was crushed into dust. Fortunately, Wu Tian had fled far enough away to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

After a day and night of fighting, the two monsters were still deadlocked at the entrance of a cave, but by this point they were both exhausted and nearly out of energy.

As they faced off against each other, they were panting heavily, catching their breaths from exhaustion.

Suddenly, a golden light burst out from the cave entrance, forming a beam of light that pierced the sky.

"The Chaos Spirit Fruit is ripe! There's only half an hour to pick it. The battle should be over by now!" Wu Tian saw the golden beam of light from afar and thought silently to himself.

Indeed, upon seeing the golden beam of light inside the cave, both the Black Dragon Python and the Silver Wolf moved at the same time. Both demonic beasts couldn't wait any longer.

Boom! The two demonic beasts almost exhausted all their strength and then trembled tightly together, breaking the half of the mountain into rubble with their massive bodies.

The Black Dragon Python tightly bit onto the Silver Wolf's neck, while the Silver Wolf desperately bit near the Black Dragon Python's vital area. The ground was already flowing with blood, but both demonic beasts wanted the Chaos Spirit Fruit and neither was willing to let go.

Wu Tian looked at the blood bars above the heads of the two demonic beasts through the system and saw that they were rapidly decreasing, almost bottoming out in just a few minutes.

"The opportunity has come!" Wu Tian couldn't contain his excitement any longer and rushed towards the two level nine demonic beasts who were entangled.

This opportunity was truly rare. Both level nine demonic beasts were heavily injured, and their health bars were depleted. Moreover, they were entangled, and once either one of them let go, the other would kill them. At this time, all he needed to do was strike their vital parts and he would probably take them down.

When the two demonic beasts saw Wu Tian rushing towards them, although they knew his intentions, neither of them let go.

"Human! I'll make a deal with you. As long as you kill this stupid wolf, I'll give you a lot of good spiritual medicines and treasures!" At this time, a dark voice appeared in Wu Tian's consciousness. It was the voice of the Black Dragon Python.

"Human, don't trust this snake. It's using you!" This was the voice of the Silver Wolf.

"Roar!" The silver wolf let out a howl, wanting to take down Liu Qi, but the black dragon python tightly wrapped itself around the silver wolf, its venomous fangs biting down hard on the wolf's neck.

At this moment, neither the silver wolf nor the black dragon python could move.

Without hesitation, Wu Tian jumped onto the black dragon python's body, wielding his large sword and charging towards the trapped silver wolf.

"Kill!" he shouted, activating his instant-kill skill.

Wu Tian's sword viciously stabbed towards the silver wolf's neck, but just as it was about to hit, the sword suddenly changed direction and stabbed into the black dragon python's weak point.

With a loud "bang," a critical hit landed on the black dragon python's head, and the last shred of its health was consumed by Wu Tian's ruthless strike.

The black dragon python let out a final cry of agony as its massive body crashed to the ground. Its fierce eyes stared wide open, unable to believe that Wu Tian had actually managed to kill it.

"Sorry, my hand slipped a bit just now," Wu Tian muttered to the fallen body of the black dragon python.

"Ding!
