Evan had gotten a gist of the situation as of now. Never exceed 3 levels of advanced practice, whether this is in alchemy or simply his own strength. According to Feldman, at his age his strength should only be rated at maximum of 10, and this was a very strong child. Kids this strong would usually awaken a physical ability during the ascension.

All aspects of his stats basically had to be halved in order to be a peerless genius. This is including children of different races and bloodlines that have taken refuge on Fortis. The gap he had created for himself was already quite large, and now he was going to be sent to a boarding school for advanced kids.

"Sir, does the school only teach Alchemy?" Evan wanted to know what exactly he could get out of the school. He knew that simply attending and graduating from there, and then succeeding in life would be their biggest payout. Nothing advertises a school better than a powerful individual being trained there.

"Oh, by all means no. They only specialize in Alchemy, but to be honest most students don't get in until they are 8 and go until they are 12, so you will have a lot more time to take advantage of all they have to offer. They have classes on abilities, spirit control, and they even teach about cultivation. The biggest factors at any school are the arts programs. They do teach all 5 arts, but they are most prominent in alchemy. The forging program is very good too, but the always fall behind to the Dragon Clan School of International Arts." Feldman was excited for Evan to go. He had Refinement Flames, and with as fast as he learned, Feldman was sure he would be able to become an Alchemist and a Forge Master. If he really put his mind to it, he could learn all 5 Arts, but that would be too extravagant.

"But before any of that can happen. You still must become proficient at combining your ingredients first." Feldman seemed to switch his train of thought after a brief pause. "I know you've already studied quite a bit about the subject, so there isn't anything I can tell you about it. So, before I let you go to practice, I would like to explain something else to you. You seem to have a basic enough concept of spirit control to learn something this simple. And from what I've seen, this won't pose a threat to your future cultivation. Remember the process to conceal your aura that I taught you?"

"Yes, I just need to cause a counterflow and keep the energy static." Evan answered.

"Well, that's actually a prerequisite for what comes next. It's a basically mandatory technique taught to everyone. You just need to exert some extra mental strain and cause your energy to flow backwards at, at least the same rate it usually runs forward. This is actually easier than concealment as it takes no control, just force. Concealment is just a training exercise to judge when someone is capable of doing it without damaging themselves. If you can conceal your aura for 5 minutes without any pain, then your pathways are strong enough to open your subdimension." Feldman explained the process in an extremely simple way, which made sense since it was a very simple process.

Evan immediately followed Feldman's words and reversed his energy flow. This was different than pushing his energy forward. When he was using his spirit refinement technique, he was actually changing the way that the energy would naturally flow in the future. Changing its resting mode into a faster flowing form of energy. When active, the spirit beads would flow in accordance with the user's will. Refining was the process of not influencing the bead with your will but forcibly moving it into a direction, causing the energy to adapt and evolve, one bead at a time.

When his energy hit the same speed as it generally flowed in forward motion, he felt an odd sensation within his spirit pool. It felt as if an empty hole opened up dead center of his energy pool. At the same time, he could feel a pleasant sensation in his mind. It was empty knowledge, but a comfortable feeling was released at the same time. He instinctually knew that he could pull anything he touched into that black hole in the center of his spirit pool.

To show Feldman that he was successful, he pulled out the book that Feldman had given him to study. It was the book that Feldman had written himself. The book vanished in front of Feldman's eyes, then reappeared a second later.

"Well done! It took me a month to learn myself and here you are just making me feel like a piece of garbage. I'll have you know I was a genius in my day!" Feldman was proud of Evan, but he was also a little upset at how inadequate Evan would make him feel every time he learned something new.

"I think I'm going to go and practice, sir. Um, I do need one thing from you before I can though." Evan was feeling slightly embarrassed. He didn't mean to belittle his teacher at all. He just was excited to learn something this useful.

"Oh. Yes, that's right. You need a recipe, don't you?" Feldman realized that he was acting a little childish, and not taking care of his student properly. "Here, now that you can use your own storage space, I've got a few things to give you here."

Feldman pulled out a stack of books, his personal alchemy furnace, and what looked like some sort of press machine. The press machine was primitive with just a small lever to pull down on, but it was beautiful. It was gold and silver, with an emerald, green shine everywhere the light touched.

Evan activated his Spirit Search and opened the Data Tab function.

"Sir, I can't take all of this." Evan felt that Feldman was giving him too much.

"Eh, don't think too much of it. You are my student. The one I can call a prodigy. I can't practice anymore, and you will be an amazing Alchemist in no time at all. If the only thing that I can do to help you practice, is to give you some high-grade treasures. Then that's what I'll do. I do have some dignity kid and if I were to call you my on true disciple, and then send you with nothing. I would be a laughingstock." Feldman wasn't just giving the furnace to make amends to Evan, but also to show his students potential. Most masters that would send disciples to these prestigious schools would often have many treasures. Alchemy was a very good profession after all. So, the students would often have many good high-grade treasures that they were nowhere near capable of exerting to the full extent. So, in order to still be considered a high-grade alchemy master, he would have to do the same. Otherwise, he would lose his already diminished, standing in the community. He may not be able to produce, but he could still teach proficiently up to the D rank Alchemist. It was just after that, explanation is no longer enough, but needs demonstration to learn properly.

Evan didn't know how to respond. He felt as if Feldman was putting all of his faith into him. That put a lot of pressure on his shoulders. He didn't realize that the reason Feldman was farmer and raised the clucks, was because he didn't truly need anything as far as money or necessity went. He had a large stockpile of elixirs from his youth and produced all of his own food. So, anything he would need money for was the sale of an elixir away. Most people in the area would have to sell their home to afford a Low D rank Elixir, so money was no issue. It was all about the respect of his name. His children saw him as a monster, but at least the alchemical community still saw him as a former genius and respected him.
