Catching a Break

Evan was thinking about the possible consequences of befriending a spirit beast. He had never heard of them talking, or even being intelligent. So, he was quite leery about the idea of hanging out with one.

'On one hand she could kill me in a second if she wanted to hurt me. On the other though, she is so powerful I wouldn't have to worry about any danger if she is around me.' Evan was weighing the pros and cons, when he realized there weren't really any cons to being friends. There was nothing but benefit for him.

He would have someone else to converse with as it was quite lonely out here on his own. He would also have a protector, as she wouldn't want anyone to hurt her friend. The best part is she wasn't hostile towards Evan at all. She seemed more scared to let him see her than anything, which says she is self-conscious and emotional. The only bad part would be if she became overly attached.
