Ding! Dong!

The teacher left the class. And everyone started chatting with each other. At the corner of the room, I put my face on the desk and took a nap.

Since I couldn't get any sleep last night, I am sleep-deprived. My eyes are heavy and I barely managed not to fall asleep in the class.

If I get caught again, this would be my 5th time. And, I am sure I would get some heavy punishment.

But, life is hard. Money is everything here. So, I had to work for at least 16 hours yesterday just to earn some hundreds of dollars.

But that money is everything I could earn. If it was only me, then I would just work leisurely. But I have my little sister to take care of.

I need to make money not to feed myself but also for my sister. And not only that, I have to ensure that she has a good and joyful life in high school.

She even had a fight with me to let her work part-time. But if she work, she wouldn't have time to participate in her club activities.

My sister's a pro swimmer and athlete. She has won many championships even the national championship. So, she had a bright future and a scholarship is ensured for her after she get out of high school.

But for me, I don't have anything. So, my priority is to let my sister enjoy her life. Well, she had tried to work part-time, without even telling me but I always find that out.

Since she would miss her club time and her teacher and her friends contact me. And when I found her, gave her an earful of lecture.

She is a kid, even if she is mature a bit but in my eyes, she is the same kid which I am taken care of from 10 years ago.

Our parents left us when we were just 6, and with the little money, we had. We got a very hard time. But the moment, I got to work I left everything. My hobbies, fun, friends, studies, and devoted me to work.

Doing that didn't make me sad or angry but quite opposite. I enjoyed it. I enjoy seeing my sister smile.

While I was enjoying my nap time, a single guy came to me.

"Hey, Hiro. Let's eat lunch together."

"What?"

I raised my face with annoyance in my eyes. The game in front of me is Alex, a talkative guy.

He sometimes talks to me but, I don't like it. Since I like to take a nap than to talk with others.With a huge grin on his face, he opened his mouth.

"Let me tell you-"

His eyes darted around while speaking and stopped at the window. He stopped talking mid-way and stared at the window.

It felt like he forgot about me and was attracted to something behind that window.

I also got a little interested and looked outside.

But, the scenery outside really scared me.

Black smoke rising out from the city, the horde of people walked outside like they don't know how to walk.

Their eyes had no life and most of them were covered in blood. That scene was really eerie.

Without me knowing, other students also got immersed in the scenery. They started to make a fuss about it and a single announcement rang.

But, in the middle of it, the announcer let out a painful cry and the broadcasting ended.

My mind went blank. The broadcasting room is on the 1st floor, a little farther from my little sister's class.

My heartbeat rose. Sweats dropped from my forehead. Without any hesitation, I rushed out of the classroom.

'Wh-what the hell? What was that? Did something happen on the first floor? Is my sister alright?'

A Group of questions popped out in my mind and as the questions increased my worries also increased.

A single step felt like an hour. And without great willpower and I charged inside the classroom. And there I saw, my little sister, sitting at her desk.

My body relaxed, my worries disappeared and relief came. My breathing turned normal. My little sister stared at me.

"B-brother?"

With a single word, she came near me. My mind was finally clear, and I talked with her for a bit.

But outside the classroom, screams echoed. My body reflexively walked ahead and put my sister on my back to protect her.

And the door opened, a young girl walked inside and fell down. Her body was covered in blood, many injuries and bite marks were on her body.

The time stopped, no it didn't. But for the whole students of the class, it felt like the time froze. Blood flowed on the floor.

No one knew what happened. The situation suddenly came in and no one knew how to react.

But suddenly, two girls just liked the people I saw outside the window, came inside with their clumsy walking.

Their bodies were also covered in blood and bite marks. And their eyes had no life, their mouth had flesh and blood.

Tension rose, all froze in fear. Their eyes widened and terror swarm them.

A girl which couldn't take the fear cried. And sound generated from her. But the instant, some sound leaked out from her mouth, the girls instantly attacked her.

The girl on the floor also stood and her condition also became like the two girls. She also joined the attack and in an instant, they killed the girl and ate their flesh.

Blood splattered on the floor, the students couldn't take in.

I also couldn't. I tightly hugged my sister and froze on the spot. I didn't move nor make any sound. My sister tightly held on to my chest and closed her eyes.

I did the same, many screams echoed in the classroom. But I didn't move. I didn't open my eyes until all the sounds disappeared from the classroom.

And when I opened my eyes, the classroom had turned into hell. Blood was all on the floor, walls, and desk.

The screams were still outside the classroom. But I sighed a breath of relief since nothing was inside the classroom.

But my sister couldn't take it. She put her head on my chest and cried. But she didn't generate any sound.

Her voice disappeared due to fear and it felt like she couldn't even stand still if she didn't cling on me.

But suddenly some unknown sound echoed in my head.

I didn't know what it was. "Activated?"

I reflexively spit out but it seemed no one heard it. Not even my sister.

And suddenly, a translucent window appeared in front of my eyes.
