Chapter 7

Thayer left the house with Nathan and Amira went to the living room to watch television. At the time Thayer got home, Amira was still in the living room. She saw him with a basket and she wanted to know what was in it. She felt if she asked him, he wouldn't tell her so when he went into his room, she snuck into his study where the basket was. She opened it and inside was a baby........ The baby had a stuffed toy with her and a bow on her head. She was holding her feet as well and she was staring at Amira

Amira made a funny face a the baby smiled at her. She picked the child up and embraced her. She guessed the child was about 3 months old. As she was playing with the child, Thayer opened the door.

"You're not meant to be here Mira," Thayer said

"Why did you leave a baby here? I didn't know you were this heartless Octavian" Amira spat

"You jump to conclusions way too fast. I was coming to feed her" he said and showed her a bottle of milk

"Oh, but you shouldn't have kept her from me. She is cute"

"Are you keeping her?"

"Yes until I find her real parents

"Yay!"

"Now gimme that" Amira snatched the bottle from his hand and sat on a chair and fed the baby

"What's her name?"

"There was a note in the basket, it said, Adelia. I guess it's her name"

"Baby Adelia. Well I'm going to bed"

"With her?"

"Of course"

Amira was in bed with Adelia in her arms and she wouldn't go to bed. Amelia kept on crying and she wouldn't stop.

Thayer entered her room and saw both of them.

"Can't you knock?" Amira asked

"I thought you were doing something to Adelia" Thayer replied

"wow, serial killer you're blaming me for hurting a baby. I'm not you"

"Having a hard time putting her to sleep?"

"Umm no. She's just being cranky"

"Accept it, Mira"

"Can you put her to sleep?

"I can try better than you I bet"

"C'mon then"

"You can have her plus I need to pee" Amira got up and handed Adelia to Thayer and rushed to the bathroom. After a while, Amira wasn't hearing Adelia crying anymore, she got into the room and saw Adelia and Thayer fast asleep. A smile crept to her face and she covered Thayer and Adelia and got into bed with the both of them.

The next day, Amira woke up and Thayer was gone. Adelia was still peacefully asleep next to her, Amira also noticed that Adelia was attached to her like bubble gum to a girl's hair. She tried putting her in bed without waking her but it was all a fail and Adelia woke up anyway. Adelia's big eyes were looking at Amira and Amira was so overwhelmed by it. She picked her up and swirled her around making her laugh.

"You're awake baby?" Amira asked and Adelia smiled

Amira carried Adelia to the kitchen where he saw Thayer warming milk in a pot.

"Octavian you're at home? Nobody to kill?" Amira asked 

"Its my house and I can be at home when I want" Thayer shot back

"Plus, I don't have plans to kill anyone today"

"What do you want a gold star?"

"Na. You are a gold star enough. You didn't try to run away again so that's enough"

"I don't understand you Thayer"

"What why? It's easy to understand me really"

"Now you're hot the next minute you're cold and you don't even experience period and you ain't pregnant"

"I can't answer that. But I could work on my moods"

That'll be nice"

Amira was happy to be in good terms with Thayer. The both of them came to an agreement that Adelia needed a nursery. Amira was to do the online shopping as she felt working at a company that sold furniture she could do it.

He gave her his card and she got to designing.

"Octavian I'm done" Amira said

They were in Thayer's study and Thayer who was talking to Nathan got up and followed her to one of the rooms in the house which she turned to the nursery.

"You used this room?" Thayer asked

"Of course what's wrong with it? You don't think shell like it?"

"Not that. Nevermind its pretty"

"Thank you"

"Its part of my many talents"

"How much did you spend though?"

"About, $50000"

"What?"

"I know. I spent a little"

"It also one of my many talents"

"A little? You call $50000 a little?"

"For you. You are rich aren't you. You can afford it, just steal again"

Nathan started laughing behind. The two didn't notice Nathan was there and he was holding Adelia. Amora took Adelia from Nathan and showed her the room.

"Do you like your new room Lia?" Amira asked Adelia

Lia  looked at her blankly and didn't say a thing.

"She knows you spent too much" Thayer said

"Mr Octavian is just being a grumpy old man right? He is isn't he" Amira was playing with Lia and tickling her then Lia threw up all over Amira. Thayer and Nathan we're laughing. Thayer took Lia from Amira and Amira went to clean herself up and change.

"So now you have to take care of two children?" Nathan asked

Thayer and Nathan we're in Thayer's study and Thayer was with Lia. She was falling asleep.

"No I'm taking care of one child. I don't know what to call me and Lia's relationship. I'm like her......uncle or caretaker now. What's the word for people that take care of children and love them, feed them and entertain them?"

"You mean father?"

"Yeah that. I'm like her dad now. Plus her parents are dead now"

"Oh"
