"Wait a minute, are you saying that Father killed her?" Arthur asked, his voice trembling with disbelief as he clasped his hands together.
"What? No, it's not what I mean," Richard sighed, and he continued "Let's talk about this more privately."
Arthur and Richard left the maid's chambers and headed towards Richard's study room. The room was adorned with shelves filled with old books and papers, and the large oak desk was littered with documents and maps.
Once inside, Richard closed the door behind them and turned to Arthur with a serious look on his face.
"Sophie was one of Mother's accomplices and a significant piece of evidence that Edward tried to kill Beatrice. But why didn't Father bring her to the palace?" asked Richard, his brows furrowed
"Perhaps she was already dead," Arthur offered as a possible explanation, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
