I sat at the restaurant the unknown caller appointed. I waited for a few minutes raising my head from side to side then I realized how unreasonable it was to look for someone you've never seen or met. I calmed. I waited instead, taking in a can of cold Coke. A lady pretty in black mini leather gown and a black heels. Her hair black long her had waves on the side, while her bag was black and lipstick was black as well. I wondered why she looked all black then she sat opposite. She looked like the girl from the pictures lately, I got confused. A criminal wouldn't want you to cross paths that easily and if she did then she must have the nerves to face me, I thought.

  "Hi. I'm Lacy!" She said confidently

  "And you are?" I asked her

  "Lacy...." She said confirming to me that she had mentioned it earlier

  "Nah! I know you are Lacy, you just mentioned. Who are you?" I asked again

  "Err! I get it. That's why I called." Lacy said

  "Ok! Why are we here?" I looked her while she maintained a tight smile, then I asked again getting curious "What exactly did you do with my husband!" I asked again

  "Look here Danielle, you should thankful that I'm here to speak with you about it so you should listen to me while I speak." She warned

  "Go ahead!" I calmed leaning backwards

  "Mrs Brownie..." She began, when I heard the name I recognized then I Blurted

  "Wait what?" I Alost yelled

  "...Ahhh. Listen to me while I speak." She groaned "Mrs Brownie took Jamal, your husband for coffee as she claimed it was part if the cooling therapy or whatever it was then had his coffee drugged, in no time he fell drowsy. Two men took him to a hotel and there!" She stopped

  "Ok. There! What happened next?" I asked curiously

  "Then I took it from them, I did what I had to do." She stopped again

  "There! You screwed my husband huh?"

  "Unluckily for me, we didn't do that. Trust me, he's sexy and Charming, you should give me a five star!" She said. I almost hit her on the face but it wasn't necessary.

  "I striped him off and I did the same, taking pictures like we actually. I couldn't have him all I want you know, our photographer was there so....c'mon you should be grateful I told you about." Lacy said with quirkiness

  "I'm lost for words! Why are you telling all these all of a sudden?" I asked the last question I imagined to be important

  "Jamal pleaded with me to say the truth right after a meeting like this few days ago." She confessed

  "Wow! Should I say thank you?"

  "Well, that's your choice. After now, I'd be out of this country to protect my life. What I've done for you means risking my life." She finalized then she stood up to leave

  "Lacy....Thanks!" I said finally too

  "Actually you could keep that 'coz I got my money.....He's sexy you know! When next I see him, I'd screw him!" She smiled walking away swinging side to side.

I sighed rubbing my hair that fell across my face. Then I got a text from Ada reminding me that I have been late with 10 minutes.  

  "Shit!" I muttered. I forgot about our appointment, I was too overwhelmed and curious about meeting the crazy stranger, Lacy.

I sped off to our venue, I knew I had lots of explaining to do. I walker into the hotel briskly in heels. I sighted them immediately laughing about what I didn't know. Then I sat with a grin of guilt on my face

  "Girls!" I kept my purse beside me staring at them with mixed impressions, lost for words to say to them

  "Danni, 20 minutes late ain't bad!" Lola said ironically

  "Sorry guys. I had to deal with something real fast but trust me I figured it out." I explained trying to coax them

  "Now you got yo explain to us what really happened, how and when it happened." Ada inquired. I couldn't talk about Jamal and I just yet so i thought of what to say.

  "You wouldn't believe it. I ran over an old woman, so pathetic! My car brushed her side. She wasn't hurt yet she wouldn't let me go. I gave her money and the attention but she tossed everything to the air....I was heartbroken over everything..." I lied then Lola interrupted

  "Enough with the lies already. It doesn't sound true, can you be honest?"

  "That's the truth, I'm not lying!" I insisted

  "Cut it Danni, you are!" Ada said added defiantly "I'm an attorney, I could tell when a client lies or not, at least 85% certain."

  "Well, I'm not your client so don't try yo play that attorney-client on me, ma'am." I countered

  "Doesn't matter at all... Anyway, Ada sorry for what happened to father. Its unfortunate." Lola said heartily

I was excited that they dropped my issue to the ground. Our attention digressed to Ada.

  "Yes very. I planned meeting them  tomorrow at the residence, will it be okay if I did?" I asked for confirmation

  "Oh no Danni, we can't grow in the residence forever. We moved to the mansion last night." Ada said

  "Wow!" Lola and I exclaimed in unison

  "That was fast!" Lol said

  "Why should we wait a minute when we could actually move any second. To be honest, I was excited about it..." Ada blurted

  "Well....that was inevitable..." I added trying to fathom her point.

  "Look at y'all. Politics sucks! My family have risked everything including Sabrina's life trying to impress God knows who. I mean politics is shit, I never got to know that fully until my dad became the governor" Ada expressed herself with unintended ego as we watched sway and roll her eyes unconsciously

  "Governors' daughter huh!" Lola teased as we laughed

  "Seriously girls. Sabrina's death still hurts me right now, it ain't fair. She was too innocent to die off, her husband was like an angel and then the baby she was carrying was going to be a blessing!" Ada explained better and heartily while her left fingers decorated in diamond ring rested partly in her chest

  "That's true but y'all are going to be fine." I said, Ada nodded in agreement

  "How about Eric-Shitty? Now that he's become a deputy governor..." I air quoted "Did he call you? If he didn't, believe me he would!" I stated reluctantly. I turned to the waiter I found to get me wine. Lola and Ada eyes were fixed on me before I could realize.

  "Danielle seriously?"

  "Yes seriously! I just said nothing but the truth. C'mon, Eric is always going to be Kayla's father."

  "Danni, you're impossible right now. Who's talking about Eric-shitty? Oh please! I actually don't Care if he's the president, Eric and I are history and I wish I erase them for real." Ada clarified defiantly

  "That was harsh to say. I get it. Just saying after all" i shrugged as the waiter served me my fancy "Thanks handsome!" He gave a blushing smile and walked away.

  "Danni, stop the grinch! Anyway, Ada found a lover and you wouldn't believe who she's in love with this time." Lola said sipping on the type of wine I ordered

  "Who's that? I'm curious! Someone's found love again huh! Love is shit, let alone marriage... Its hell!" I added trying to hide my pain

  "Well, sorry to disappoint you and to salt your wounds Danielle Khaleefa! Its the guy from the bar. So whatsoever you got going from your marriage that really dribbling, remember you mentioned marriage is never a bed of roses but a bed of thorns and guess what?" Lola reminded me with mockery

  "What?" Ada asked curiously with an unending smile while I turned away because she wasn't going to shut It for long

  "You love the way it hurts!" Lola finalized comfortably

  "Whatever Lola! You can get me all you want for tonight, I owe you one!" I turned to Ada with a smile "Who's this mumble from the happy feet's movie?" I coaxed

  "Guy from the bar. He's actually a nice and well brought up Man. He's Dylan Mark!" She excitedly narrated and defended

  "That's great! Good for you! I'm excited that you found someone who would respect your feelings for what you are." 

  "Danni, are you really ok?" Ada asked

  "Please ask her again!" Lola concurred

  "Nah girls! I'm good just getting off mood swings! It happens" I said with a forceful smile

  "It don't matter, we are your buds. Anything you think you can talk to us about?" Ada asked with concern

  "Actually guys, its really about that woman. She made me feel so useless."

  "That's ok. At least y'all went home safe and sound right?" Lola asked

  "Yeah but..." I stuttered

  "You'll be fine! Even If I know that's not enough reason to get you so upset. Just relax!" Ada added correctly

My phone buzzed, I peeped at it and discovered it was my husband but I ignored

He buzzed numerously but I was negligent. Our conversations went smoothly except for Jamal's call that continuously interrupted us even when I activated the silent mode, I wouldn't stop peeping.

  "Did you just say y'all visited an aquarium?" I asked to get my attention distracted

  "Yeah. Funny right? I loved every moment of it and best of it is he's very very religious not until we almost had our first kiss...." Ada stopped because of the exclamation Lola and I displayed swinging our fingers to the air

  "Did y'all do it?" Lola asked curiously

  "....ahh nah! I got shy and distracted by a shark that smiled at me through the tank." Ada said then she covered her mouth

  "Silly! Why won't you?" I said sadly "You both seem attracted to each other!"

  "Really! You could always try again, you deserve a big ass man like Dylan not Eric!" Lola said outrightly

  "LaLa! He'd always remain Kayla's father!" I reminded

  "Then so be it! I think I love this guy, he makes me trip and want him even more!" Ada cried out

  "This is not funny! Just stop the horny thing and get yourself together bissh." I stood up to demonstrate properly the next thing I wanted to say "So if He's gonna come forth with so many dirty talks while you smile and get moist down there so you actually you going to let him in?" I stopped with a serious face. Her face was covered in guilt

  "...Nah....No..No..like I'm not just going to fall for that easily but..." She stuttered in between

  "No buts. Don't even think of it, Ada. You got to know this guy first, like really well." I said then I sat down

  "Yeah I know. Seriously Danni, tell me you never ever did it with Jamal before marriage? Hmm?" Ada pointed out

  "Seriously I didn't. I mean we had a countless kisses and several smooches but we never did it until our wedding night! To be honest, but its your life though!" I said truthfully. They stood looking at me with disbelief

  "Lola, you know I wouldn't right?" 

  "Nah. Its impossible to not believe that! Y'all were so glued to not believe just anything." She said truthfully, I knew she'd think so

  "I swear it we didn't..." I insisted on making 

Them believe me then I realized there was no point

  "Now I understand why y'all are so freaking glued. And this man we ate talking about has been buzzing your ass but you wouldn't say hi. Any problem?" Ada pointed

  "Oh him? Did he call me? I guess he's still Calling..." I said pretentiously

  "Oh Danni, just sort it out with him soon. I think you should leave already. The Jamal I know wouldn't have it nice today, just...go. I'm touched!" Lola added sarcastically but truthfully

  "You think so? We should be having fun right?" I said innocently

  "No. We can't have you like this while yell and say nasty and unruly things to us. Please go already!" Ada insisted

  "I'm so sorry guys I have to go. I'll tell y'all about it I promise." I stood up giving each of them a kiss on the cheek

  "Danni wouldn't say shit!" Ada whispered to Lola

  "I can tell you more!" Lola concurred with the sane tone

  "I heard that!" I scurried away Immediately to my car.

Past 4pm,

I went up to the bedroom Bella and Larry obstructed me with genuine salutations, I closed the door behind me. I met Jamal working on his laptop; he raised his eyes to look at me. He kept the laptop on the bed then hopped down walking towards me then I stopped him.

   "Don't come any closer! We're better off distant!" I instructed, I really didn't mean it

  "Ok. Ok! I'll stand right here! I'm so sorry I interrupted your girl time, I got to realize that. Im really sorry!" He apologized

  "Wait what? Are you following me? Jamal you're impossible right now! You think that I'd cheat on you. You think that I'd screw some guy out there? Bro! I'm not a whore!" I blurted out defensively

  "Danni, I didn't mean it that way. I was searching for you hoping you ain't missing..." He tried to explain

  "Nah! It doesn't give you the right to....to try to stalk me." I scolded him. His eyes didn't leave mine, then he scoffed

  "I was drugged and I really don't know how I landed into this mess. I had no idea I was played. Mrs Brownie insisted that we go to a coffee shop which she claimed it was part of the therapy to socialize, I followed because I promised you that I was going to work on myself to be a better person.... And luckily for me, a girl named Lacy explained everything to me so I had to pay her To explain to you but I really don't know if she did. Danni, I wish I had a million ways to explain to you how desperately I want you to know the truth....I'm so sorry...." He confessed then walked closer to me regardless

  "And you think I'm going to believe you again? After everything we've built, the life we dreamed of having then you want to ruin it, huh? I worked myself up for you making sure you get the best psychotherapist and this is what get for the sacrifices I've made to make us a better family. Why didn't you tell me?" I ashes again

  "I was scared about how you'd feel..." He said innocently

  "It doesn't say much right? All you had to do was TALK, say something! You were silent all through, that was enough reason to make me believe just anything. You treated me badly, making me feel less of myself. I felt guilty about things I didn't do, if you feel tired and stressed over this marriage I'd gladly leave forever!" I said, this time I meant just a few part of it. I had to keep and maintain a fierce face. Then he asked me instead

  "Did you ever think I'd cheat on you?"

  "....N...No! I trust you! But maybe you want to give me a reason to not tryst you." I said

  "I didn't do it, Danni! I promised and I'm still promising not ever do that. I'd never!" He said. I knew he was sincere, I believed him. He held my arms staring into vulnerable eyes without a word, he was scared to do anything just yet...
