Meanwhile, Serena returned home back from the ballet school. She was feeling tired and exhausted after the practicing. She was walking to the front porch of her house thinking that, How she will find the new partner in such short amount of time and she was so worried about the competition.

She didn't realize she almost hit her forehead on the door. She rang the door bell and her little sister open the door.

" Welcome back. "

She felt a little bit confused because kate never behave nice with her. She knew either she wants something or she want her cover for her. Serena crossed her arms together across her chest and asked her what she want?

" How do you know I want something?

" Speak up! quickly I don't have time . "

" Okay, okay, I need to go out for my friend birthday party but mother doesn't allowing me to go. You need to get permission for me. "

" Okay but what can I get?

Kate, pulled the newspaper from behind her and showed the AD that she print for the new ballet partner and she remember she hide the newspaper from her mother.

" WHAT?? HOW DID YOU FIND IT? Serena couldn't believe on her eyes.

" My eyes are everywhere so, what do you think? are you gonna help me or not? or should I show this to mother. "

Serena forgot that her sister is the number one blackmailer in this household and Serena was her victim but she doesn't want her mother to see that and be worried about it. Unfortunately, she agree to help her but in returned of the newspaper. Kate handed her the newspaper and she shoved it in her ballet bag and they walked inside the house, shutting the door behind.

Serena, left her bag at the corner of the couch and went straight in to the kitchen. The kitchen smelled amazing. Turkey-apple sausage sizzled in a blackened iron skillet on the sturdy old eight-burner gas range. Thick slices of bread toasted in a shiny vintage Toastmaster. Hair tied back, sleeves rolled up on her blouse, apron around her waist, Mother tossed a handful of pecans into the skillet and let them brown with the sausage while she flipped a cheddar-filled omelet in another pan. The heady aroma of freshly ground black dark-roast coffee filled the kitchen.

" Good evening, mother." Serena greet her mother with a huge grin on her face.

Serena's mother Nelda turn towards her and greeted her and kate was standing behind Serena at the doorway of the kitchen.

" How was your practice sweetie?

" I-I... Aaa... it was great and Derrick was doing great in the practice. "

" Good to hear that and come on have a seat I made dinner."

Serena, gaze down on the dinnig table and she move towards it, Leaning over the tray she inhaled deeply, letting the steam-laden aroma flood all the way through her. The soft green clouds with the most delicate golden crusts smelled as perfect as they looked. Pistachio with a hint of saffron. was there even such a thing as a hint of saffron? It was the loudest understated spice, like a soft-spoken person you couldn't stop listening to. Like the hidden lilts inside a well-held aria. Like the beauty within making what someone looked like on the outside meaningless, slowly, one encounter at a time. No matter how subtle I tried to make it, saffron always shone through, it became the soul of your preparation.

Serena's watery mouth could never resist and her sweet tooth were tangling before she could take a mouth full of apple pie, kate poke her finger behind her back to remind her that she have to talk to mother.

She sigh loudly, and remember that she needed to help her or she won't let her live peacefully.

" Mother, kate needed to go to her friend birthday party and why you won't give her the permission to go. "

" Kate!!! I told you, you are not going to the party. "

" Mother but why she can't go? Serena ask her mother.

" Serena, you stay out of this! last time I gave her the permission and she came back home late 2am with a boy."

" He was just my school friend and he was dropping me off and what is the big deal in it." kate interrupted the conversation of the Serena and her mother. Serena, swiftly turned her face towards kate, gesturing her to keep her mouth shut and she is speaking. Kate nodded quietly.

" I took her full responsibility she won't be late this time I promise. " Serena tried to convince her mother but her mother won't let kate to go out alone.

" Serena, kate is just 15 people are going to manipulative her and I don't want her to go alone . "

" Mother, if you keep her like that inside with you how she will learn the good and bad for her . "

Nelda took a long paused and thought Serena was right but she can't let kate out of control because kate and Serena are different than each other. Serena is more responsible then her . She sigh and Serena was waiting patiently for her mother to say something .

" Okay, kate can go to the party"

Serena and kate face lit up with the happiness. Kate give me quick kiss on her mother cheek and cruise out of the kitchen to get ready but soon Serena happiness threw in the trash can because she didn't hear her mother condition for letting go kate in party.

" But only on one condition. *

" What condition?

" You will go with the kate"

Serena facial expressions change in to more of like shock. She ask her, why She will go with her? she replied: Because you are taking responsibility and you don't wanna be late so, go get ready hurry up.

Serena thought, what in the world she is going to do in between high school students? well, she walk out of the kitchen and went straight to the kate room to tell her the news but her room door was lock.

" Open the door kate!! Serena said .

She didn't open the door and Serena, thought maybe Kate was getting ready or taking shower .

She turn towards her room and walk through the door she stood in front of the closet . begin to unfold the story of all of the clothes, I have to get through the door, which is already posing a problem because there are clothes everywhere. It is a large spaced fill with shoes, accessories, and mounds and mounds of clothes. The majority of the clothes are hung upon a single straight rack that goes from one part of the closet to another. The closet itself appears to be twelve feet long and seven feet wide. This size closet seems like a very generous size, but compared to the amount of stuff that is in here, it is completely filled. The rest of the clothes are in piles of clothes on the floor, as well as in the a few small plastic containers with drawers. The shoes are on two metal shoe racks, as well as in shoe boxes on the floor. For accessories, they are scattered everywhere. Purses are hung up on a rack on the wall as well as on the floor. An assortment of gloves, scarves, and hats are carelessly tossed into a drawer. For the rest of the accessories including earrings, necklaces, watches, bracelets, and headbands, they are all place on a single table, some in a jewelry box while others scattered across the table in small dishes. Even though there is a great deal of mess encompassed within this area, there is at the same time some organization attempted. Towards the front of the rack of clothes there seems to be very nice clothes that are hung on expensive hangers, some of the clothes even have name tags. This indicates that either she cares great care of the new items, and maybe also the items that she likes the most. There is great assortment of purses that are in their original dust bags too, which agrees with the idea that she does care about and take care of items that she truly loves.

She held a scarlet sequin dress to her chest and posed in front of a mirror. Too hot. She put it back and took a black mini. Too dreary. Then a blue as pale as a whisper caught her eye. She took the dress. The material was silky and clinging. Perfect for a goddess. On the floor below the dress sat scrappy wraparound high-heeled sandals that matched the blue.

She didn't understand why she needed to dress up to go the high school but the impulse to steal into the storage room had been rising in her since the sun set.

She took the dress and sandals back to her room, then sat on the floor and painted her toenails and fingernails pale blue. She drew waves of eternal flames and spiral hearts in silver and blue around her ankles.
