Seriously?!

Eden couldn't believe this was happening right now. Of all the people in this city who could have been their eighth person, why did it have to be Jonah?!

When she saw him, she recognized the left half of his face and his distinctive curly hair right away. But she hadn't been expecting the right side as he gaped at her like a deer caught in headlights. 

It was the first time she had ever seen his entire face in the light. His scars took up most of the right half of it and were slightly darker than the rest of his face but that wasn't as noticeable as the puckered and bubbled texture of it. They went down under the collar of his t-shirt and all the way over his right arm onto his hand. 

The scars were certainly eye-catching but not hideous. This was what he had been so desperate to hide? Seriously?!
