CHAPTER 34

Zona had done for the day. She arranged her stuffs inside the bag, and zipped it. She carried it up, strength it hand and hanged it on her right shoulder. She was in the room given to her as rest room. She walked to the dressing mirror there, checking herself. She adjusted the cloth, and leaving the room.

Aria's mother was at the living room. She was sitting on the couch, crossed her legs and watching news. She arrived from a political meeting couple of meeting ago. So she sat down to watch news on how the campaigns and other activities were going.

Zona got down to the living room, going to where Aria's mother was. She had to inform her before leaving. She stopped walking, standing at Aria's mother right hand side.

"Well done Ma" she greeted her.

"I want to tell you that I have done for the day" Aria's mother took her eyes away from the television and looked at her.

"Everything has been properly done and arranged. So see you tomorrow ma"

"Alright Zona, well done and good bye" Aria's mother replied.

"Thank you Ma. Enjoy the rest of your day Ma" Zona said in cool tone. She turned back and wanted to be leaving while Aria's mother called her back.

"Yes Ma" Zona said gently as she turned back.

"I want to ask that how is your mother now? Hope she is fine now?" Zona's look changed as Aria's mother asked.

"We haven't done the surgery that Doctor told her to come and do. So is she still there Ma" Zona replied.

"Oh! God will heal her" Aria's mother sad gently. Zona just silent, she didn't say anything.

"After the election, I will think of how to help. Right now, all moneys are going on campaigns and that is the most important thing now. But after the campaign and election, I will think of how to help you"

"Alright Ma, thank you" Zona said gently.

"Take care of her well. She will be fine"

"Thank you ma. Good bye ma" Zona turned back and leaving the room.

Aria's mother focused on the news back. She took the remote control beside her and changed the channel. She put it at 'Our Nation' where they used to watch live news and least news.

"This is breaking news from 'Our Nation' Sani Yahaya's daughter was shot on her wedding day. Where the gun came from was unable to trace" the newscaster was reading the news.

"According from the police, they said investigation is still going on" the lady reading the news pushed.

"THIS IS THE FULL NEWS"

"As we all know that today was the wedding day of Mr. Sani Yahaya's daughter. The activities have been going smoothly and everyone has been enjoying the movement. The bride and the groom were on the dancing ground when the bullet came from unknown and shot directly to the bride. People surrounded her and tried to rush her to the hospital. But she was unable to reach the hospital before she died"

"Mr. Sani Yahaya let the reports known that this will surely come from his opponent. Because he didn't have any issue with anyone. He also said this is politics and as a strong candidate that he is, his opponents will be after him. So he is sure that this was from one of this opponent" Aria's mother just crossed her legs and looking gentle.

"According to police, they said they would do the investigation well and fish out who is behind this" Aria's mother took her phone beside her, and dialing a number.

"Hello, Shadow. Well done" she said in cool tone.

"SO NOW TAKE THE NEXT STEP" she said loudly. Shadow replied and hung up from the call. Aria's mother dropped the phone down, and smiling.

"The road has been clearing" she said gently. She stood up, took the phone and going upstairs. That was the news she had been waiting for.

Aria's stepfather didn't know about the steps that she was taken. She didn't tell him, just assuring him that he would win.

Henry and Ethan arrived home from work at the same time. Their cars parked, and two of them got down from their cars. Aria was walking beside Henry and going inside.

It was Alaina and their mother that were at the living room. Their mother was watching movie while Alaina was lying on the couch and charting with Liam. She was smiling and carried away.

"Good day Sister Alaina and Ma" Henry greeted them as he and Aria entered into the house. None of them replied. They didn't even do as if they heard him.

"Oh! My Son, welcome" Ethan's mother jumped up with joy as she saw Ethan entering.

"How was work today? I hope you are not tired?" She was helping him to off the jacket, asking different questions and treating him like a baby.

Henry was standing on the same spot and watching them. He felt sad. They just made him to remember his mother.

"Welcome back, how was work?" Alaina asked Ethan. She intentionally not to reply Henry, it wasn't that she was carried away.

"Sorry my son, why did you overwork yourself on you first day? Anyways, your favorite food has been prepared. So go upstairs, shower and come down for dinner" she was holding the jacket and tie.

"Let us go" Aria held Henry's hand, and taking him away from that place. She had read his mood and now that he was sad. She was holding Henry's hand, and two of them going upstairs.

"I preferred the kind of mother that my mother is than her. Because he came back from work, she is now behaving like he travelled for years. For her to be strict on him, she is petting him like baby" Aria said loudly.

"And you too are now sad because of that. If you want to be jealous, jealous on valuable thing not that" Henry looked at Aria as she said so.

"Yes now, you are now standing there and looking sad. Sad because she off Ethan's jacket. And if it's that you too want someone to off your jacket for you, I will" Aria walked to his back, and wanted to help him to off the jacket.

"What are you doing? I don't want. Thank you" Henry said gently.

"Then stop being sad. Ignore whatever they do, just make yourself happy" Henry looked at Aria and he smiled.

"You enjoyed your mother care before she passed out. And now your father too is after you. So why are you sad? When I that didn't know my father and no mother care always happy"

"So don't be sad or start to be thinking next time. Even I am here for you, I can act as mother if you want"

"Ohh! You?" Henry said gently and giggled.

"Finally put smiles on your face, that is what I want to achieve" Aria said with smiles. Henry just giggled again, looking at her.

Henry find Aria's companion interesting. Except from little problems that Aria used to give him, he was glad that she was with him.

"What is this?" Sani Yahaya said. As he wanted to enter into his car, he found an envelope on the seat. He looked at it and decided to open it. He opened it and brought out a letter

"WE BELIEVE YOU WON'T WANT TO LOSE ANY OF YOUR FAMILY AGAIN. SO STEP DOWN" he read the letter.

"Who sent this letter?" He asked himself.

"Love, what is that you want to say?" Aria's mother asked.

"I want to suggest maybe we should tell the Doctor to switch Aria's life support machine off" Aria's stepfather said.
