Chapter 8 - His Heartbeat

    Mr Reynard cares so much for his dead wife and child so much that he would take care of and unknown person like myself and my baby just because we remind him of them. I am so overwhelmed, I don't know what to say. However I hope my daughter finds a good man Like Mr Reynard in the future.

  Dennis shook his head. “If only you knew your daughter doesn't need to find a man like Mr Reynard because Mr Reynard belongs only to her.

 Dennis remembered he had something to ask Reynard. Mrs Freya, I will leave you to rest now. I will be back later to check on.

   Freya Smiled. “Alright, Thank you.”

Dennis had taken a few steps but remembers something, So he turned to ask her.  Freya, I haven't seen your husband around. “Where is he?

Freya's pupils dilated and she was flustered. She didn't know how to answer the question. It was her dirty laundry Afterall. How could she wash them in front of this man, Whom she has only just met.

  “He....he is on his...way here...."

 Dennis could tell that she was lying, He could hear her heart beat very fast and also her face gave her away, but he chose not to tell her that he knew she was lying. He gave her a nod.  “Okay.” And immediately turned to leave.

  “What a Terrible Liar!”

Vip Neonatal ward.......

Reynard was protectively holding the little girl in his arms, Like she could get stolen if he put her down.

Collins felt left out, He really wanted to hold her too. She was looking so cute.

   “Reynard, Let me hold her a little.”

Reynard gave him a low growl and turned his back to him

“How dare you want to touch my mate!

Collins pouted and went out of the ward. He's had enough PDA to last him his whole life. Dennis saw him sitting outside with a bitter expression on his face. He knew what must have happened to make Collins have a such an expression. However he had other pressing matters a just ignored his expression. 

“Where is Reynard?

Collins folded his hands across his chest. “Where else would he be?  “He is in there! “And has refused to come out all day!  “The nurses are terrified, they can't even do their jobs.”

 Dennis ignored complaints and moved towards the door.  “I will call him out so we can discuss about the matters at hand.

 Please do.” Collins was happy that Reynard would finally come out and he would get his chance to go in and hold the baby.

When Dennis entered the ward, He wasn't surprised to see Reynard still in the same place and position he had left him, He was holding her to his chest and was rocking her gently. 

 “What an overprotective man!

“Reynard, May I speak to you?

No!” Reynard ignored him and continued what he was doing.

 “Reynard, it's urgent! 

No! You handle it “

 Dennis turned to him, determination in his eyes.  ”He must talk to her now!  Thinking of what to do Dennis smirked when he got an idea.

“Reynard, its about her! 

Reynard immediately turned to him. “Who?

Dennis pointed at the baby with his chin,  Her."

Reynard became instantly interested in the topic. He placed the baby back in the incubator. “Lets Go!

 “Mate issues!  Always Work.”

When Collins saw that the two coming out of the ward and he immediately smiled, He got up and was about to walk towards the ward but got pulled by Dennis. “We've got an important discussion!

Collins pouted.what wicked people! I can't even see the baby! Collins followed quietly and they all went to the Lobby.

 “Speak!

Dennis, Looked at Reynard's face, his expression was completely different from what it was few minutes ago. The gentleness and tender look he had on some minutes ago was gone. 

“His gentleness and tenderness are all reserved for his Mate!”

 Seeing his seriousness, Dennis began the discussion.

 “Reynard, I think they already know.

Reynard raised his brow in askance. Though he could already guess what those people were after. And he even had a hunch on who the Mastermind might be.

 “Those people were actually after the baby Mrs Freya was carrying. According to the guard, they were trying to take Mrs Freya somewhere but she refused and thing turned ugly so the woman wanted to drag Freya Forcefully,  but Freya was stubborn enough to fight back and got hurt in the process.

  Collins pouted turned into an unpleasant frown as he listened on. “Who was it?

He wanted to know who that person, bold enough to want to mess with “The Supreme Alpha's Mate! 

Dennis, Looked at the two bags of ice standing before him. ”The atmosphere suddenly became colder.” 

“Yes! Their Insolence also left him peeved! How Dare They!”

“I Think the woman who wanted to take away Freya was Sandra.”

“The Witch?

Yes,”  The daughter of the great witch Alice. 

“But why w....."

Alan.” Before Collins could complete his question, his words was interjected by Reynard's Answer.

ALAN!! Both Collins and Dennis exclaimed in surprise. “Wasn't he Dead?”

 Reynard didn't answer their questions as he suddenly felt strange. His chest suddenly tightened and his whole body started to shake violently. "Did his heart just beat?"
