Chapter 141 - Mother

 "Just tell him I'm sorry," Selena whispered and a tear rolled down Esme's cheek.

"You should tell him that yourself."

Esme took Reynard's hand and placed it on  Selena's head. "Your Mother is in here Reynard."

"What are you trying to say?" 

Reynard asked eyeing Esme skeptically. He looked at the Stone and he shook his head. "What a lovely prank Esme."

"Huh?" 

Esme was stunned to hear him say that. How could he think she was playing a prank on him? That too, using a topic as sensitive as his mother?

"Let me go take a bath and I'll play more pranks with you."

"Reynard, it's not a prank." Esme held him before he could walk away. 

"I know it's not a prank Esme, it's just a joke right?"

"It's not." Esme replied weakly. 

Why would Reynard just not believe her? 

Is it so hard to believe that his mother didn't abandon him? And that Lucifer was the one at fault in all this.
