Maes gulped as she knocked on the door.
"Simon-nim, Are you there?"
...No response.
"Simon-nim, Are you there? I have brought your meal."
Maes repeated the second time with a bit loud voice. Still,... No response.
"Simon-nim, Are you in there? I have brought your meal?"
...No response. It was very quiet inside.
Maes knocked on the door harder. She was expecting Simon would hear her if she banged on the door But, What surprised her was that the door wasn't locked.
Maes had accidentally opened the door. She entered the room and immediately froze. It seemed like the wrong time for her to be here.
As a wolf, Maes was far stronger than an average person. She naturally had a better battle sense than most humans.
So, she could sense the strength of people. And, when she came into this room, She knew that she was very weak compared to most of the people in front of her.
That's when she saw Simon turn around and look at her.
'Shit'
Maes didn't know this but Simon had cursed when he saw her there.
...
<Previous Night>
"*yawns*"
After the plaza terror incident, Simon had been resting. He was absolutely resting. Not working even a bit.
Except for annoying Alberu, who had occasionally dropped by for some reasons he forgot, Simon didn't even talk much with anyone.
He enjoyed the palace and the treatment he was getting.
Simon didn't regret doing so even a bit. Not a tiny bit of regret was in his heart. He firmly believed that what he did was good.
Actually, Simon didn't want to laze around and drown in the comfort of the Royal Palace...but it wasn't even his fault.
At first, the service of that place was already very captivating. It would make any person want to just forget about their duties and responsibilities.
The other reason as to why Simon didn't work was pretty simple too.
A few days after the incident, Simon wanted to make his other puppets as strong as Zero. Zero was strong but having multiple puppets with his strength would be nice.
But, Whenever Simon even picked a pen to write something or to add an attribute to something, he couldn't do it.
Actual alarms went off inside his mind when he first grabbed the pen. After the incident, Simon couldn't use his powers anymore.
Actually, his powers weren't gone completely but his body absolutely hated to pick up a pen. Simon was really confused at that.
'Has my body gained sentience?'
'Is there an old expert's soul sleeping in my body?'
'Will a system show up and say
[Hello handsome Host, Congratulation on awakening the bs system]'
'Will a world-class beauty come to teach me?'
Simon had many questions. But, After thinking more he got a conclusion.
'Tsk, like hell a battle expert will come and take me as his disciple.'
'A system showing up? like hell that bastard who sent me is gonna make it easy for me.'
Simon guessed that his body was warning him not to use his powers anymore. This was weird but... considering that Isekai isn't exactly a natural phenomenon, it made sense.
So, Simon was very annoyed because even if he looked at a pen, his mind would slowly start burning.
Not even thinking but just casually looking at it.
It wasn't the most painful thing but...it hurt. It hurt pretty bad. Ok, Simon had pain tolerance comparable to a dying dog... but that's not the point.
'Heh, do you think just because I can't use my powers, I can't get stronger?'
'Presumptuos'
After saying the famous Chinese line, Simon began to do the thing that he has done a lot in the past month.
Brainstorming.
'If that doesn't work then how abou- no that also won't work. Hmmm'
Simon kept on thinking of new ideas but he kept on dismissing them. He could train his body, but he wasn't willing to.
He himself could learn a new skill but, Simon didn't think he would get strong enough to fight off the White clown and his extra added minions.
'Ahhh, Screw it. I need some fresh air.'
Simon walked towards the main door and decided to take a stroll around the village. Just as he was about to open it,
Bang
Simon immediately closed it.
'Oh gosh, What was I thinking?'
After the plaza terror incident, Simon's face was a bit famous. Actually, he had seen many girls watching him and Cale from afar when he first came here.
Simon knew that he should absolutely not socialize with the people of this place. Especially those fangirls, It would be too much of a bother to take care of them.
As a fanboy of Cale, Simon understood their sentiment but, He felt that it was annoying.
Sure, Simon was being a hypocrite but he had the right to be.
'Nobody knows how much I hate this world.'
Simon had seen many awesome scenes of Cale up close, But as a die-hard fan, he wanted to take pictures too. But, this damned world didn't have a single camera.
They had video recording magic tools, but it's pretty much impossible to shove a magic device at Cale's face and not get kicked out of Cale's trust list.
Recording them sneakily?
Dream on using a magic device near a dragon and not get caught.
'If I can't be happy, I won't let you be happy.'
Simon wiped an imaginary tear off of his handsome face, as he returned to his room.
'Maybe someday, My dreams will come true.'
Although Simon didn't want to deal with those fangirls, He wanted to still walk outside.
'Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm'
Simon hmmed for a long time trying to search for a solution. In his previous life, Simon would never have believed that he needed to make a plan to go outside his room.
Time really changed people.
Getting Isekai'd also changes people a lot... maybe more than time.
'It shouldn't take long if I do it this way.'
Simon opened his window and jumped outside. His room was around the back parts of the house. So Simon easily got away unnoticed from the backyard.
He had 5 of his puppets following him.
Simon had two options for now. He could either go walk around the cliffs and the shore or he could also go towards the nearby forest.
If he went to the cliff, it would be obvious he was there, and being on such a dangerous cliff wasn't something he wanted.
Plus it would be too cold around the seashore.
So, Simon chose to take a quick walk around the forest. Well, it wasn't that big so it would be fine.
Walking alone in the jungle was definitely safer than walking near a dangerous cliff at night. Walking in both places at night was definitely not a good option but, Simon had Zero and 4 other puppets.
So he wasn't concerned about his safety. Simon was wearing dark pajamas with a hood so he sneakily got away from the village and entered the woods.
'What should I do?'
Simon kept walking leisurely. He knew the way back so it wasn't that big of a problem if he got lost. There was no danger of an animal attacking him since he was walking in the middle of all of his puppets.
Simon didn't even use his custom flashlight as the moon was really bright. In fact, it was bright enough to make this forest pretty easy to navigate through.
The leaves rustled and many small branches broke as Simon kept walking. It was very silent so his steps made a lot of sounds.
Simon wondered about how he should use his time the most efficiently. He needed to get stronger fast as Toonka would come soon.
There might be an encounter with Arm's assassins and its minions very soon. Simon didn't think of it as a big problem since he would be surrounded by strong individuals but it's nice to be able to take care of any danger as fast as you can.
As Simon was walking through, he suddenly heard some leaves rustle. It wasn't because of him so he immediately became vigilant.
Simon looked at the thing that was making this movement.
He knew it wasn't that big but he still kept Zero in front of him and surrounded himself with the other puppets.
All of them were invisible and only Simon could see and sense them. If anything jumped out, It would meet a bad end.
Simon looked closely at what was moving and soon saw a rabbit jump out.
"..."
Simon sighed and moved on. He kept walking forward without thinking much. That's when he again heard the leaves rustling.
Suddenly a guy jumped out of the bushes and immediately attacked Simon.
"DIE"
The unknown assassin had a dagger aimed right at Simon's neck. He moved very fast and was sure that he could kill Simon.
That's when his eyes met with Simon's blue eyes. He seemed to have frozen a bit for some reason after meeting eyes with Simon.
Still, the assassin was confident in his skills. He could slice off Simon's throat pretty quick.
But, Simon carried the aura of the protagonist. Nobody could defeat his plot armor. Actually, Simon didn't need plot armor. He had enough means to deal with a situation like this.
So he didn't need the power of friendship here.
*Bang*
The assassin immediately got fell. He was glued to the ground.
He felt like he was being crushed by someone far stronger than him. It honestly terrified him that he was pressed down while he was still in mid-air.
He knew his own strength. And he also knew that there wasn't anybody that could do this.
To an outsider, it may seem like this assassin had been pulled towards the ground.
But only Simon knew what was happening.
"Urk"
The assassin coughed out blood as he struggled to stand up.
'What!? What happened? ugh, this, this isn't what my cl-'
"Hmmm, Attacking while shouting. That was very naive of you."
"ugh, who, who are you?"
The assassin might have been terrified but his acting skills weren't bad. Honestly, Simon would have been surprised if he knew that this assassin was almost cowering in fear inside.
"Hmmm, you don't even know me? You seem like cannon fodder for Arm.'
"Arm? What nonsense are you talking about? Let me go, Who do you think you are calling a cannon fodder?!"
"Huh?"
Another man appeared near them.
"Huh"
"Huh"
Three huh's were said right after one another.
"Who are you? Identify yourselves"
Suddenly the third man pulled out staff and launched a spell at Simon and the assassin.
"Tsk"
'Is he a reinforcement?'
Simon tried to run away from his position but it seemed like it was a bit late for that. Simon slowly felt strength lose his body.
"Aaahhh! Wha- What is this?"
The third man, who seemed like a mage was pushed towards Simon and the Assassin on the ground. He felt somebody pushing him.
The mage immediately looked behind but saw nobody.
'Who pushed m-'
Before the Mage could finish his thinking, He also felt his body losing its strength. He fell to the ground as his consciousness went out.
Simon's eyes were barely open as he gave one last order to his puppets before he also fell unconscious.

Well I have more things to say.
first I have exams and it isn't easy to write with exams. Plus I rewrote this chapter 10 times bcuz i didn't like what I did 9 other times.
so this chapter was late.
well it might be also because I am lazy but that's not the point. i am making chapters longer than what they used to be.
and also I will add oc's. if u have any complaints tell me. i am all ears.
also if u have some suggestions for some oc's tell me. i might write them. the first part of this chapter is pretty much a mess I guess. i don't even remember what I wrote there. i wrote that part a few days ago.
and I am too lazy to check it.
yea basically that's it. bye
