WHAT THE HELL??

Yesterday ended on a very good note though watching the animated movies with Sahana was showing all of us the side of boredom. The mess was done and Sahana was back to live with us. Mathew's parents flew back to Sydney. Akash has resumed his modeling and studies though he kept talking to Rohit's photo now and then, he was trying his best to move on and we were helping him out in our own way. Now the only hitch was Steve, I hope he moves on.

The argument between Sahana and Mathew disturbed my sleep. My eyes fluttered open to see my handsome husband sleeping peacefully without getting disturbed by the noise of their argument. My fingers make their way to his face. He squirms in his sleep as my fingertips make contact with his skin. I halted my movements in the fear that he might wake up, but no he continued his sleep as his lips curved into a smile. He could recognize and enjoy my touch even in his sleep.

I caress his cheeks, trace his jawline and play with his hair. My gaze moves down to just catch him staring at me with his eyes wide open. When did he wake up? I immediately pulled my hand back and turned around to escape his stares. He hugs me from the back and cuddles me closer.

"How long have you been awake?", I asked him

"Since the time you were busy admiring my beauty", he said

"Were you fake sleeping?"

"Absolutely", he said

"PLEASE", we heard Sahana scream.

We looked at each other and decided to check what is happening out there in the living room.

Sahana was running all around the house and Mathew was chasing her. I pity him at times because she does give a tough time to him. Catherine was looking at him helplessly.

"What's going on here?", Krish asked Catherine

"She doesn't want to go to school today and Jones wants her to go", she replied

"Sahana, come here"

"Yes uncle", she said, ran to him and hugged his waist

"Go to school. It is Saturday today so you have classes only for a few hours."

"No, please"

"We don't want to miss the classes right?"

"I want to"

"We want to be a good girl right"

"Hmm-mm"

"Let's do this, if you go to school today then I will take you to the ice cream parlor after you come back"

"Deal?"

"Yes, deal"

"Okay then daddy, I will go to school"

"This is how you handle her, by speaking to her and not by chasing her"

"Yes, Jones learns from Krish how to handle her. Sahana come let's get ready", Catherine said

"Coming mommy", Sahana said and followed her mother inside their room.

Mathew let out a loud sigh, nodding his head and his hands resting on his waist.

"She is very tough to handle", he said

"That's because you spoil her a lot and she is your daughter so it is obvious that she is a stubborn brat", I said

"Did you just call me a stubborn brat indirectly?"

"Nope, I called you that directly"

"Now both of you stop bickering and Mathew don't cook for us because I am taking Megha for the checkup first and later I'm planning to spend some time roaming around with her.", Krish said.

"Love stinks", Mathew commented

"You are just jealous", I said, pouted to him, and pulled Krish back to our room.

I was standing in front of the mirror, wearing a lavender color T-shirt which was oversize for me a few months ago, and a pair of blue jeans. We were ready to go take a leave. We reached the hospital within half an hour. I couldn't help but feel excited about the ultrasound scanning time. I was lying down on the hospital bed revealing my outie stomach, the doctor applied the gel giving me a cold sensation on the skin of my stomach and she placed the transducer on the area covered with gel.

I could see the baby on the screen. Krish's eyes were getting watery and fixed to the screen and he was grinning. It was a great feeling of seeing my lifeline seeing the life growing inside me.

Then we had a small talk with the doctor. She repeated the same old things about me taking rest, not taking stress, eating healthy, etc, the oy thing she added this time was that my due date is in the next 35 days.

Then we spent a couple of hours together driving without planning any particular destination, window shopping, and eating.

"Take two steps back and stand there", he said while clicking a picture of mine. Days passed, weeks passed, months passed and even years passed but Krish's hobby of clicking my pictures stays unchanged. I snatch the mobile from him after he clicks various pictures of mine, to click a selfie of us both together. I took steps closer, fixed his collar, went on my toes, ruffled his hair, and winked at him. Then I quickly snap a good selfie of us and saved it as his screensaver - both of us standing next to each other, my lips pressed to his cheeks and the sun rays giving us the natural sunkissed filter.

We reached home but not before spending some romantic time together where Mathew can't disturb us.

I enter the house hoping to hear Sahana troubling her father, but no I was welcomed by the sight of Mathew sitting on the couch with his head hung down between his shoulders, he looked devasted. Catherine was not seen around him. Maybe they had a fight I assumed. I sat next to him and placed a hand on his back and ran it up and down along his spine. His shoulders started to shake and he was crying. He placed his head on my lap and cried uncontrollably. This sight of my brother, the pillar of life like this broke me into million pieces.

"What's wrong, Mathew?", Krish asked, sitting on the floor in front of us, with his hand patting Mathew's head

"Sahana... my daughter... is... missing", he told his cries becoming louder.

"WHAT THE HELL?", I shouted.

"She is missing", it was Catherine. Tears flowed down her eyes, even though she looked terrible but not as much as Mathew. She could at least speak properly unlike him who can't say two words continuously without letting out a sob. I understand as a parent what they must be going on now.

"He had gone to pick her up, but... but she wasn't there", she added and fell to the floor, pulled her knees closer, and started to cry.

"I shouldn't... have sent... her to school. I should... have left... her take... a leave. I'm the... reason... my Sahana... my daughter... is missing", he kept blabbering.

Just now a problem ended and soon the other one started.
