THE DAY (MATHEW'S POV)

"Jones can we go shopping now?", Catherine said hugging me from the back and placing her chin on my shoulder.

"Baby I need to cook now, can you wait?", I asked

"No I am not waiting and all"

"Hmm"

"Megha are you or Krish free?"

"Krish is why?" Megha replied

"Can I take him with me to shopping?"

"Sure. Krish accompany her and buy me the T-shirt which I showed you last week", she told and Krish followed her commands without uttering a word.

After they left I was in the kitchen cooking food and listening to music.

"Megha gets the door", I shouted as I heard someone knocking on the door.

"Mathew", I heard her call out my name.

I walk to the living room just to find my brother standing there. He looked fine no sign of sadness on his face. Probably he is moved on from Catherine and accepted my relationship with her.

"Jones", he said waving his hand in front of my face

"How come you are here?", I asked him a stupid question

"Do you think your marriage would take place without my presence?"

"Oh god, Steve. How are you? When did you come to Bangalore?", I asked throwing myself on him

"I am good, brother. I arrived last week. So when were you planning to invite your twin to your marriage?", he detached himself from me

"I just had no idea how to invite you"

"You could have given me a call"

"No, I was thinking how to because you know your marriage with Catherine was broken because of me"

"You gotta be kidding me. You both are in a relationship during high school itself and parted ways because you were so determined to pursue your studies in India. Then later again you both for together but again or ended badly because of all those unwanted scenes. Now you both are getting married after clearing all the misunderstandings between both of you. You have been the best of best friends and the best couple I have ever known. It has been clear since day one that you both are made for each other."

"Are you fine with all this?"

"Absolutely, actually I shouldn't have come in between both of you so, I am sorry for that. Now it is time for celebrating your marriage."

"Thank you so much", I said hugging him.

I was so relieved that Steve has moved on. Though he perfectly covers up like that he was not affected by Catherine coming back to me, anyone would believe him but I am his brother I know how much he would have got hurt because of it. Now that he is happy with my marriage, I am also on cloud nine.

At the time of dinner, Krish and Catherine returned home after completing all the shopping.

"Mathew how do you even manage going out with her she spent the whole day shopping and in the spa.", Krish said placing the bags on the couch.

He must have been very exhausted spending time with her because I know how tiring it is to go out with her.

"Krish Malhotra, what did you say?", Megha asked him with a little in her hand

"Nothing baby you know spending time with Catherine is very amazing", he said getting scared of Megha.

Then I introduced Krish to Steve and then we all had dinner together laughing. All thanks to my brother for making them laugh by revealing my embarrassing childhood incidents and Catherine was helping him by reminding him of the details. I was missing Sahana now. She is staying with my parents. After some time we all dispersed to our respective rooms to sleep.

At last, it is the day I have been waiting for. I AM GETTING MARRIED TODAY. I was standing in the groom's room in front of the mirror wearing a black suit. I was nervous like hell. I marched around the room and fidgeted my fingers. I turned towards the door when I heard it open. It was my sister. She was looking beautiful as usual. She was wearing a pink saree. Her skin was glowing because of pregnancy and her baby bump started showing and it looks so cute.

"So ready for the day huh?", Megha asked me

"I guess so", I said still fidgeting my fingers and tapping my feet

"Mathew", she said my name which was more like a whisper. She hugged me and patted my back.

"You got this. I am proud of you are at last going to spend your life with the one you have loved since your childhood be happy"

"Will I be a good husband to her?"

"You will be the best husband."

"Hmm"

"Maybe better than Krish also", she said and we both laughed

Megha somehow eased me but I was still nervous. What if she feels I am not worthy of her in the future? What if I can't be a good husband to her? Numerous questions filled my head. That is when Krish informed me it is time.

I was standing next to Steve and Krish at the end of the aisle waiting for Catherine. I was getting nervous more and more with every passing second. She walked through the doors putting a full stop to my waiting. My heart skipped a beat looking at the gorgeous lady in a white gown with a bouquet in her hands. My eyes were fixed on her. I recalled the day I met her, the day she became my friend, the time we grew closer, the day I proposed, and every beautiful moment I spent with her flooding inside my head. I was on the verge of crying, but I decided not to I didn't want to have swollen eyes in wedding pictures. She stood in front of me. I wish I could just freeze this moment.

"I, Jones Mathew agree to take Catherine Andrew as my lawfully wedded wife", I said

"I, Catherine Andrew agree to take Jones Mathew as my lawfully wedded husband ", she said smiling

We exchanged the rings and we're pronounced as husband and wife. I was more than happy. I held my hand and gave it assuring squeeze. I would never let it go. I will stay by her side from this very moment and take the best care of her.

Tears started falling from her eyes.

I took a step forward and placed my lips on hers and sealed our marriage. We kissed slowly in front of the whole crowd and with tears continuously flowing from both of our eyes. I didn't want to cry but couldn't control myself. She pulled out from me after a solid 30 seconds and I could still feel her lips on mine.

"Male best friend is always a pain in the ass and heal of the heart. Though you are my husband now you always remain my best friend", she whispered in my ears.

After clicking photographs with all the guests we decided to return home. My parents took Sahana with them because they wanted to spend more time with her and they told me that she will be staying with them for the whole next week. Steve also followed them. Later Krish, Megha, Catherine, and I drove back home
