MAYBE THEM(MEGHA'S POV)

PRESENT

Akash was weeping after narrating his love story. I can understand his state of mind because once even I was in that situation. He is way more stronger than me, I tried to end my life but here he is trying to find the person and reason behind the death of his boyfriend.

"Wow, what a love story! I loved it. Can we make a film out of it I will become rich then", Krish said

Why on earth has my husband become this stupid? He doesn't even think before speaking. He just added more hurt to Akash. I gave him a death glare and he apologized to him.

"Since there is already a homosexual love story going on, my work is going to be much easier", I heard a voice from my behind.

I turn around to see Steve smiling and another man standing with him. He was just a few inches shorter than Steve and he looked familiar, I couldn't recognize him because he was standing in the dark. As they took steps closer, I recognized that man, it was none other than Dr. Akhil, my colleague.

"Steve. Akhil", I called out in surprise

"Megha first of all I'm sorry for whatever is happening with you, stay strong we will find the culprit. Second of all, I'm dating Akhil", Steve said

"We are trying to find the culprit. Probably someone who is homophobic might have done this. YOU AND AKHIL ARE DATING LIKE IS IT FOR REAL."

"Yes, sister"

"LIKE BOYFRIEND-BOYFRIEND"

"Yes", he said and I started jumping up and down in happiness.

Krish held my arms, made me still, and reminded me that I am pregnant and I shouldn't be jumping like a monkey at this moment.

"So when did this happen?", Mathew asked

"After my wedding got called off, I came here to Bangalore and I met these twins Dr. Akhil and Dr. Keshav. Then I was in love with this guy and here we are dating", Steve said with a smile.

"And when were you planning to tell me"

"When we get clarity about our relationship"

"How long have you both been dating?"

"6 months or something"

"6 MONTHS STEVE, YOU TOLD ME VERY EARLY ABOUT HIM, WHY DON'T YOU SAY ME AFTER GETTING MARRIED TO HIM", Mathew was sulking now.

It is the best entertainment to watch this brother's conversations.

"Jones", Steve said and Mathew turned his face and walked away.

He should probably stop watching dramas he just acts like those female leads always giving either unwanted or overreaction. After some convincing Mathew stopped sulking and then we had a family lunch together with a new entry to our group Akhil and Akash.

Later, Steve and Akhil took leave and we were back to our mission 'find the killer'. We were sitting on the couch. I was sitting in between Krish and Catherine, Mathew was next to her, hugging the sad Akash. I recalled Rohit and Akash's past for a while.

"So Rohit's parents at first didn't like you and all of a sudden they accepted you both without minding your relationship?", I asked Akash

"Yes", he replied

"How were they behaving with you after that?"

"God only, they cared and loved me"

"And what about their behavior with Rohit?"

"They were cool with them but he always complained that they no more love him the way they used to"

"Used to?"

"He felt that the love and care they showed towards him was reduced"

"Okay"

"Even at times, he had some arguments with his dad"

"Often?"

"Kind of"

"About what?"

"Everything, they always disapproved each other's opinion"

"Were they homophobic?"

"Yes they were before"

"Krish I found the first suspect", I said to Krish

"Don't tell me that your suspects are Rohit's parents", Krish said

"Absolutely, it's them"

"You gotta be kidding me Megha, they are his parents for god's sake. No parent will ever even think about killing their child"

"They are homophobic"

"Were Megha not are, past"

"They didn't worry about them for 2 years and all of a sudden accepted them"

"That doesn't make me feel they are suspects"

"Krish it does, a few months after they accepted him, he fell sick and soon later died"

"You are making no sense at all", he said

We both had a set of arguments. I wasn't ready to listen nor was he ready to listen to what I am saying. After a long argument, I shut my mouth and put an end to it. Later Mathew and Catherine told me that whatever I said can or cannot go wrong so giving it a shot won't hurt us in any way.

I immediately called Inspector Shrey and asked him for help. He said that he was happy to help me. I narrated to him the whole story.

"Woah, an amazing love story", he said after listening to the whole story

"Hmm", I said

"What happened after that?"

"Shrey I'm not telling you any fairytale"

"Sorry"

"Hmm"

"So how do you want me to help you?"

"Investigate Rohit's parents..."

"Easy-peasy"

"Shrey can you listen to me completely first"

"Okay continue"

"While investigating them I want you to be on call with him because I want to hear the conversation and you have to ask the questions I ask"

"They will find out if I'm on a call with you"

"Use your air dopes for heaven's sake"

"Oh yeah I totally forgot about"

"Who on Earth made you an inspector? You are nothing but a total idiot", I said and cut the call.

If it was a normal period of time I would have been scared to even speak to a policeman, but the scenario was different here I have known Shrey for a while because he has been my patient and I raised my voice against him because first of all he was forgetting for what sake did I tell him about Rohit's love story, second of all he was being a stupid and third of all I'm losing my cool because of this case and my mood swings were adding interest to my irritation.

Then I asked Akash to stay with us because I was genuinely worried about him. I know he has his parents and Rohit's parents but for some reason I wanted him to stay in my house and not let him alone. Leaving a person who lost his loved one, alone is not at all safe. He might look strong and determined in finding justice for Rohit's death but at the end of the day even he was a young lad who is filled with sadness and mourning. I wanted this boy to smile. I know in this situation smiling is the last thing he would do but for some reason I wanted him to move on and I will help him with that.
