"Though your plan sounds good, there's a problem," Kiana raised her hand seriously. "It seems like none of us know how to modify a vehicle…"
"We do have someone," Li Huan pointed behind him at Tom. "Tom can do it."
"What, does this cat know everything?" Kiana squinted her eyes suspiciously. "And are you sure it's safe to let a cat modify a vehicle?"
"Absolutely, I'll vouch for it," Li Huan responded confidently. "So, once Tom finishes modifying the vehicle, we'll head straight to the supermarket and cafeteria, stock up on supplies, and then drive this bus out of Qianyu Academy. What do you think?"
"Well… it actually seems doable," Kiana thought about it for a while and realized there wasn't a better plan.
This one covered most of the issues and seemed quite feasible.
Mei also nodded in agreement. "I think so too. Considering the situation, a cautious approach like this seems wise."
Seeing that the other two agreed, Li Huan said, "Since everyone is on board, our next move is to head to the parking lot."
With that, Li Huan stood up and dusted himself off. "Let's not waste time; let's head out now."
The other two exchanged glances and stood up as well.
Li Huan picked up the still-lying Tom, giving him a shake. The latter woke up instantly from the jostling.
"Time to go, Tom. We've got work to do."
Still a bit groggy, Tom perked up upon hearing this, frowning at the hands-on-hips Li Huan.
Seeing Tom's expression, Li Huan chuckled. "What's this? Are you upset because I woke you up?"
Tom shook his head; that wasn't the reason.
Li Huan continued to guess, "Or is it because I interrupted your fun? Just so you know, that's not a good habit."
Tom shook his head again, seemingly giving a hint as he pointed to his belly.
At the same time, a sharp grumble came from Tom's stomach, and the skin over his belly began to ripple like waves.
Seeing this, Li Huan understood. "Oh, you want your reward, huh?"
Tom's face lit up with a smile as he nodded.
Li Huan had promised to treat Tom to a big meal if they defeated the Herrscher of Thunder.
Now that they had succeeded, it was time to fulfill that promise.
But with Tom looking like that, Li Huan responded with slight regret, "Sorry, can we postpone it? There's still something important we need to do. After that, I'll treat you to a feast."
Upon hearing this, Tom's ears drooped in disappointment.
In Tom's mind, after exerting so much effort in fighting that seemingly weak woman, he still hadn't gotten his meal. What motivation did he have now?
His thoughts began to manifest physically as Tom suddenly hunched over, pulled out a cane from who knows where, and leaned on it. His legs shook, and his face turned pale and weak, like a frail, exhausted cat.
Seeing Tom like this, before Li Huan could say anything, the two women began to feel sorry for him.
"Hey, Li Huan, if he's that hungry, why don't we feed him first? He did help a lot…" Kiana suggested, pouting.
"Yeah, poor kitty. He really looks hungry," Mei chimed in, showing pity despite her lingering fear of Tom due to physiological reasons.
Li Huan sighed. "You two... don't get all sympathetic at a time like this."
Though he complained, he noticed that Tom's low spirits might affect their upcoming actions.
As a cat who wears his emotions on his sleeve, Tom's mood could significantly influence the outcome of a battle.
At times like this, as the contractor, Li Huan needed to boost Tom's morale.
He crouched down and asked Tom, "Do you want a big drumstick?"
Upon hearing this, Tom started to imagine.
A cloud formed above his head, slowly revealing a scene where he sat at a dining table with a large roasted drumstick on a plate in front of him.
Both Kiana and Mei were stunned by the sight of the imagined scene playing out on the cloud above Tom's head.
What was this? Could it project what he was imagining?
Tom, drooling at the sight, nodded eagerly.
"And a big scoop of mashed potatoes on top?" Li Huan continued.
Tom deepened his imagination.
In the cloud, a chef-like Li Huan pushed a cart with a big pot on it toward Tom.
After stopping in front of Tom, he took out a large iron ladle, scooped a full spoon of mashed potatoes from the pot, and poured it over the big drumstick.
With the drumstick now covered in golden mashed potatoes, it looked even more delicious.
Thinking about it, Tom's drooling intensified, and he nodded. This was exactly what he wanted.
But it wasn't over. Seeing the drooling Tom, Li Huan went in for the final blow.
"And finally, a ladle of hot, savory gravy."
Boom!!!
For some reason, a thunderous roar echoed from above as lightning struck down, illuminating Tom's stunned expression.
In the cloud, Li Huan brought out another pot from beneath the cart and opened the lid.
Steam and a mouthwatering aroma wafted out—it was the scent of premium gravy, slow-cooked to perfection.
Li Huan scooped out a ladle of gravy and, right in front of Tom, slowly and carefully poured it over the mashed potatoes and drumstick.
As the gravy drizzled over the mashed potatoes and drumstick, the dish's color, aroma, and flavor intensified tenfold, maybe even a hundredfold!
Looking at the dish, Tom's drool turned into a river, pouring onto the ground in a spectacular display.
Seeing this, Li Huan smiled. It worked.
Now for the final move.
"Tom," Li Huan patted Tom's shoulder. "Listen, if you come with me and finish this one big task, I promise I'll give you this meal times five!"
Tom's eyes widened like saucers, and in his imagined cloud, the dish multiplied by five!
Thinking of this, Tom's expression changed.
His eyes filled with determination, his waist straightened, his legs steadied, and his little body stood tall. He snapped the cane he was holding with just his knee.
Tom was fully revived!
Seeing Tom like this, Li Huan nodded in satisfaction.
As expected, Tom was easy to deal with.
