Chapter 4

Madara scrolled through the status interface that the system displayed and smiled to himself as he saw his current progress.

"It's time to find out which world I'm in. In these past years, I have figured out that I'm in some kind of magic world but I don't know which one it is."

Madara said to himself as he jumped from one tree to another like what a shinobi from the naruto world will do.

It's been a few hours since Madara started his journey to civilization but he hasn't encountered any living person since he started which him wonder if he is going on the wrong path.

"It's been more than four hours now and I have travelled more than a hundred miles yet I'm yet to encounter any living person. System are you correct this is the right to human civilization?"

Madara asked the system about the direction it gave him after he stopped on a tree.

[[DING: The directions given to the host by the system are hundred percent correct base on the map the system has on this world.]

'Then why haven't I found any humans so far... Does magic have anything to do with this? Nah! If it was I would have detected it a long time ago. Let's continue the walk, it's not like I'm in a hurry to get to human civilization anyway.'

Madara continued on his journey a few seconds after the system replied to him.

"Huh! What's this smell?... It smells like something is burning."

After running for a few more hours, Madara's senses picked the scent of something being burnt. He quickly climbed up to the top of the tree he was standing on and saw that about a few kilometres away from him there is a huge cloud of black smoke and it was rising from the ground to the sky.

"That can't be from a campfire."

Madara began running towards the direction of the smoke at a fast speed. He got to the place a few minutes later and he was shocked at what he saw.

"What the hell happened here?!"

Madara asked himself in disbelief because in front of him was a small village with over a hundred houses and it was on fire with multiple dead bodies littered around the whole place.

[Water Style: Great Flood]

Madara made a single-hand seal and quickly cast a water release jutsu that created an enormous wave of water which flooded the village and put out the fire. After the water was put out, Madara moved closer to some of the corpses and inspected them.

"From the wounds on the bodies, they were not killed by magic beasts but by magic spells instead. Damn what's with this luck, the first village I encounter and it's already destroyed by bandits."

[Shadow clone jutsu]

*PUFF!*

"Search around for any survivors."

Madara created five shadow clones after he was done complaining about his luck when he was done checking the corpse and told them to search for any survivors before heading into the village himself with his three tomoe Sharingan activated.

Madara looked around the village with his Sharingan for a few minutes but didn't find any survivors until he got to the centre of the village. At the centre of the village, there was a big house and even though it was destroyed by the fire, one could guess that it must have been owned by a wealthy person. Madara looked the around the house with his Sharingan for a while until he saw the blue silhouette of a person under the collapsed building.

"Huh! There is a survivor but she is on the verge of death."

Madara's three tomoe Sharingan turned in the eternal mangekyou sharingan and used the [Kamui] ability to go through the solid ground and appeared in a basement under the destroyed building.

The basement was dark with nothing inside except an unconscious red-haired woman laying on the floor in the middle of the place.

The woman had a very deep wound in her stomach and there was a blue-coloured grimoire beside her with a three-leaf clover on it. Madara moved to the woman and started healing her with medical ninjutsu.

"W-Who are you?"

The woman woke up when Madara started healing her and asked with difficulty.

"I'm Madara, a traveller who was passing by. You shouldn't strain yourself talking in this condition."

Madara answered the woman in a very serious tone and continued to heal her. Madara really didn't want the woman to die because she is the first person he has met in this world but the woman had different ideas.

"P-Please save my daughter... Please don't let them take her away."

The woman died in Madara's arms right after she asked him to save her daughter.

"Save your daughter?!"

[DING: Two quests have been triggered, host.]

[Quest: Revenge

The first village you encountered has been destroyed by bandits. Take revenge for the innocent villagers.

Objective: kill the bandits (25/0)

Reward: 1× Summoning animal, 10,000 SP.]

[Accept/ Reject]

[Quest: Rescue.

You have received the dying wish of a woman who has her child stolen from her by bandits.

Objective: rescue the woman's daughter.

Reward: Magnet Release and 10× Chakra pills.]

Madara looked between the dead woman and the system interface in front of him with a surprised look on his face because he wasn't expecting a mission from this.

"I accept both quests, system."

Madara accepted the quest before going out of the basement after he buried the body of the woman.

[Mind's Eye of the Kagura.]

Madara activated one of his jutsu to find where the bandits are after he left the village. The Mind's Eye of the Kagura is a jutsu that belongs to the Uzumaki clan in the naruto world but Madara bought it from the system shop during his four years of training.

The Mind's Eye of the Kagura is a technique that allows one to sense chakra from exceptional distances in great detail. These sensory capabilities give Madara abilities that even surpass dōjutsu with comparable powers.

By closing his eyes and opening his mind's eye, Madara was able to track and see any chakra or mana activities within a radius of more than twenty kilometres. By focusing on a particular target, Madara was able to see the location and movements of the bandits in great detail.

From his observation, he saw that about fifteen kilometres away from him there are three big carriages with more than twenty people in them and among those people five of them were females and they were unconscious.

"Those five females must be the captives of the bandits and there are also some strong chakra sources among the group."

[Summoning Jutsu]

*PUFF!*

Madara jumped into the air before casting the summoning jutsu and summoned a giant Eagle after he found the position of the bandits and flew off.

Meanwhile, among the carriages carrying the bandits, the high members of the bandit's group were in the first carriage celebrating their success. They were five of them in the carriage.

"Who knew there was such a rich village in this unknown place and it all thanks to you that we found it in the first place, leader."

One of the five men spoke out in joy as he looked at the one he called the leader. The one who spoke was a bald-headed middle age man with a scar on the left side of his face.

He was wearing a purple shirt, black trousers and black boots. He also had a holster around his waist and in it, there is a black book.

The man that the bald-headed man called leader was a man who had short black hair and looked to be in his early forties. Unlike the bald head man he was dressed in very luxurious clothing consisting of a blue shirt with a golden design on it, black pants and boots. He also had a brown coloured holster that hold a brown book inside.
