Chapter Ten : Monster Hunt (2)

The sun rose, casting a soft golden glow over the town as Joe made his way towards the Hunter's Guild.

As he walked, Joe couldn't help but reflect on the mission. Hunting those monsters was way more easy yesterday. He had planned to visit the guild to submit the proof that he completed the herb collecting mission.

When he finally reached the guild building, he was greeted by the familiar hustle and bustle of hunters going about their day. He made his way to the mission board, where a guild officer was busy updating the status of various missions.

Joe approached the receptionist and presented the proof that stated that he completed the mission. The receptionist inspected the contents. After a moment, she gave Joe a nod of approval.

"Good work," she said, marking Joe's mission as completed on the board. "These will be very useful for our potion makers."

Joe thanked her and turned to leave, but not before taking a look at the mission board.

As Joe left the guild building, His next mission was to hunt mana beasts in a certain region of the forest. He had his gear ready, his senses alert, The sun was still high in the sky, casting long shadows that danced with the rustling leaves. It was a perfect day for a hunt.

He ventured deeper into the forest, his senses alert for any sign of mana beasts. His hand rested on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw it at a moment's notice.

[I know many readers are thinking 'Why should he carry a sword now, he has the devil's fruit power. Well he has been training with swords for a long time and it will take some time to get used to his new powers]

After hours of tracking, he finally found his quarry. It was a magnificent creature, its muscular body covered in scales that glowed like molten lava.

This was the second mission that he accepted, to hunt the fire bull a C rank mana beast.

Joe took a deep breath, steadying his nerves. He knew this was going to be a tough fight. But he also knew that he had something the Fire Bull didn't: the power of the devil's fruit.

With a roar, the Fire Bull charged at Joe. But Joe was ready. He used his powers to transform into light, moving at incredible speed to dodge the attack. Then he counterattacked, firing beams of light at the beast.

The Fire Bull was strong and relentless, but Joe matched it blow for blow. He used his powers strategically, blinding the beast with bright flashes of light and attacking it when it was disoriented.

Finally, after a particularly intense exchange, Joe saw an opening. He gathered all his energy and fired a concentrated beam of light straight at the Fire Bull. The beam hit its mark, and with a final roar, the Fire Bull collapsed.

[I am new with fight sequences, that's the reason why the fight scene is small]

As he extracted the mana core from the Fire Bull as proof of his victory.

While extracting the core from the mana beast Joe found a weird crystal with some carving on it, he stored it in his storage ring and went back to Coastfield City with the dead body of the Fire Bull.

When he finally reached the guild building, Joe approached the receptionist and presented the core of the Fire Bull and the receptionist confirmed that his mission had been completed.

After completing his hunting mission the next mission he had was the escort quest he took.

'Hmm the mission is to escort an alchemist family to Karry city, this should take at least 2 days to reach there'.

Thinking that Joe walked towards the alchemist's house to discuss the details of the mission.

Joe knocked on the door of the alchemist's house, hoping that he was not too late. He had agreed to escort the family of Kent, the alchemist, to the Karry city, where they hoped to find a cure for their daughter's illness. It was a dangerous mission, as the road was infested with bandits and wild beasts but Joe was confident because he had taken many similar jobs before, and he always delivered his clients safely.

The door opened, and Joe saw Kent's face, pale and weary. He smiled weakly and invited Joe inside.

"Thank you for coming, Joe. I appreciate your help," Kent said.

Joe nodded and followed him to the living room, where he saw Kent's wife, Lila, and their daughter, Rose. Lila was holding Rose in her arms, rocking her gently. Rose looked frail and weak, her skin pale and her eyes closed. She had a fever that would not go down, and she coughed frequently. Joe felt bad for the little girl, who was only six years old.

"Hello, Lila. Hello, Rose," Joe greeted them.

Lila looked up and smiled faintly. "Hello, Joe. Thank you for doing this for us."

Rose opened her eyes and whispered. "Hello, Mr.Joe."

"How are you feeling, Rose?" he asked.

"I'm okay," Rose lied. "I'm going to get better soon."

Joe nodded and ruffled her hair. "Of course you will. You're a brave girl."

He stood up and turned to Kent. "Are you ready to go?"

Kent nodded and gestured to a large trunk in the corner of the room. "That's all we need. Our clothes, some food, some money, and my alchemy tools."

Joe walked over to the trunk and lifted it with ease. He was a strong man, with broad shoulders and muscular arms. He had short brown hair and blue eyes, and he wore a leather jacket and pants, along with a sword at his waist.

"Is this all?" he asked.

Kent nodded again. "Yes, that's all."

Joe frowned. "Are you sure? This is not much for a two-day journey."

Kent sighed. "We don't have much left, Joe. We spent most of our savings on medicine and doctors for Rose, but none of them could help her. The only hope we have is to go to Karry City and find the special healer there."

Joe nodded in understanding. He had heard of the healer of Karry City, who was said to have miraculous powers of healing any disease or injury. He was also said to be very secretive and elusive, only appearing to those who truly needed him.

"Alright then," Joe said. "Let's depart tomorrow morning".

I hope y'all enjoyed the chapter. I might not post any chapters tomorrow. I have something to attend.
