At Kylo’s silent signal, we moved, slinking through weed-split alleyways toward our destination. Abandoned factories and warehouses loomed around us, decaying monuments to this city’s lost glory. Now, most of them hid more sin than any respectable business, including the labyrinth of rooms and tunnels beneath us that served as Shane’s business district.
Behind it, the Shadowcrest Warriors Compound came into view.
Faint sounds of raucous partying echoed ahead as we approached the Compound. Laughter and shouts drifted on the night air from the exposed lower levels. It was fitting that Shane was celebrating his victory. He had no idea that the goons he had sent after us now lie in a pyre, blazing to the heavens. Shane had no idea that he was now prey, surrounded by an onslaught of wolves.
