Chapter 16

ALEX

In these last days he was happy, happy because things with Gabriela were beginning to improve. Now we were kind of friends, but sometimes she would still get angry and I felt guilty she felt bad, but then she would talk to me again as if nothing had happened and for a moment, I could forget about it until I came home and remembered everything I had done to Gabriela. 

She didn't deserve anything we'd done to her, especially me. But today I had woken up happy because luckily, we were going to have a technical drawing. It wasn't my favorite class, but at the same time it was for the simple fact Gabriela was there and I spent practically the entire class looking in her direction. At first when I looked into her eyes, I could see the desire she had to kill me, but now she didn't look away or like that. 

As soon as I got to class, I saw her sitting in her usual place concentrating on something and I approached without making too much noise, I wanted to see what she was doing always had her concentrated in these classes. As soon as I got close enough, I saw she was drawing and as far as I remembered she wasn't that good at it, I think she once told me she didn't even like drawing, but I really don't know what I thought if she was in Fine Arts. 

"To not like drawing you are very good at it." I said and I noticed how she jumped into the air of fright and I didn't mean to scare her, but it doesn't take long for her to look at me, which at that moment makes me gawk at her brown eyes. 

"Did you have to scare me?" she asked ironically, and I couldn't help but let out a small laugh "I really didn't mean to, forgive me." I sincerely said "You are forgiven, but what are you doing here?" she inquired and I leaned on the table next to her. 

"I was curious to see what you did because whenever I entered class you were always focused on doing something and even in class. Are you going to tell that you draw in class?" I asked and she nodded "Of course, I don't understand this man and if you do, explain to me how you get him." 

"No, I don't understand him either, but now I get what you're doing. But if I remember correctly, you didn't like to draw." I assured her, because it wasn't something she liked to do too much, at least not what they asked us to do in class "Yeah, well, I didn't like it, now I find it relaxing and distracting. It helped me overcome everything in part." 

"I'm glad you found something that helped you. I'm sorry you had to find something to be able to handle it better." I replied "Hey, don't worry about it anymore, it's over and now I'm fine, that's what counts." 

"It might be what counts, but I feel bad about it, I shouldn't have done it, I'm an asshole for doing it." At that moment she got up from her chair and stood in front of me, with her hands on each side of my face making me look at her. 

"Listen to me Alex, I'm not going to deny you weren't to blame because it's true, and I didn't suffer because of you because it is, more than I ever have, but you shouldn't keep blaming yourself for something that happened years ago, there is no longer any case, what is done is done." 

"If that's so far in the past, why don't you forgive me?" I asked even though I could figure out why she wasn't. Gabriela sighed and removed her hands from my face, going to look out the window "Because that's not so easy, aside from that, at no time have I said I hadn't forgiven you, that's what you think." 

"So, you have forgiven me?" Right at that moment the teacher enters who takes no time at his table, at first not noticing us until he does. "Well, couple, if you don't want to pay attention to the class, you can leave now." 

And it was at that moment apparently Gabriela realized the teacher was in class and she quickly separated from me, turning towards the teacher. "We are nothing." she assured and the teacher rolled his eyes "That's not what it seems, but sit down in your seats, it's time for class to start." 

I went to my place, but not before looking at her, because she had something in her eyes that made me feel good, like I hadn't felt in a long time and I was happy. I also couldn't believe what he told me she had forgiven me and I was going to continue like this until I asked her, I wasn't going to get my hopes up so it wouldn't be true later and I was going to do it as soon as class finished, I couldn't hold out much longer.
