Battle with the Goblin King

The afternoon sun shone through the leaves of the goblin tribe, illuminating the war-ravaged land.

The smell of blood permeated the air.

In the chaos of the battlefield, the seemingly invincible goddess had fallen with a single blow, lying motionless on the ground.

The tremendous force of the impact had created a huge crater, making it hard to imagine how the delicate goddess could have survived such a devastating strike.

Her fragile body was flung amid rubble and dust, like a falling meteor crashing down onto the battlefield.

"Foolish humans, how dare you kill my general? You shall pay!" From the settling dust emerged a towering, menacing goblin.

It stood nearly four meters tall, with skin as hard as stone and covered in bulging veins, giving off an inescapable aura of oppression.

Although the swirling dust made it difficult to see clearly, observers in the distance could vaguely make out a figure.

A graceful silhouette gradually came into focus - it was David!

He had climbed out of the crater.

"It's the goddess, she's alive!" Leah cried out joyfully.

Alec's eyes suddenly narrowed, revealing a look of astonishment. As a powerful cultivator, his superior senses clearly perceived the truth - the young woman did not have a single wound on her!

David climbed out of the dirt pit, brushing the dust off his body, still with a somewhat shaken expression on his face.

But apart from the dirt on his clothes, his body was completely unharmed without the slightest injury.

"That scared me to death, how could that beast move so fast?" he thought to himself.

The previous strike had come on fiercely and swiftly, its speed too quick for him to react.

"Analyzing...," Lynn responded calmly, her tone tranquil and composed.

"Don't worry, its attack power is still insufficient to break through our skin."

"But its speed was indeed a bit faster than expected, beyond your current cultivation level's ability to react, which is normal."

"Do you need me to take over the body?" she considerately offered.

"No need, this is good practice for me!" David shook his head, a look of anticipation breaking out on his face.

This battle was also tempering for him, and he didn't want to miss any opportunity to grow stronger.

The previous blow had only caused him fear, not even pain.

It was merely the beast's ferocious aura psychologically affecting him, without truly inflicting harm.

"Establishing position!" David shouted as he levitated into the air, exerting a slight force with his right hand, his confident gaze fixed on the Goblin King before him.

Hum...hum...

Ripples emanated through the air.

"Hmm? Not dead?" A hint of puzzlement flashed through the Goblin King's eyes as it keenly sensed the air vibrations caused by David.

It moved swiftly, leaping high into the air, a full meter above the still-levitating David.

Boom!

Holding its spiked club aloft, it smashed down fiercely toward David's head.

Caught mid-incantation, David was unable to react in time. Not only had the Goblin King easily dodged his position attack, but its own deadly blow was now raining down toward his head.

Feeling a surge of panic, without time to do anything, he could only watch helplessly as the spiked club descended toward his skull...

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Once again David was sent crashing down from the sky. This time he slammed heavily beside a large tree, the impact exploding the tree apart in a shower of splintered wood, exposing its uprooted base - testament to the tremendous power behind the blow.

"Go King, go!"

"The King is invincible, foolish humans courting death!" The goblin elites let out ear-piercing shrieks, cheering on their king.

The people on the high ground once again revealed shocked expressions, terrified that the goddess would fall, staring fixedly with pounding hearts.

"Damn it!" David was somewhat annoyed, the feeling of having his spell interrupted quite unpleasant.

Since coming to this world, this was the first time he had encountered setbacks.

Being called a goddess by everyone daily, he had long assumed a lofty identity of superiority and invincibility.

David got up, a red light flickering in his eyes as he clearly suppressed his anger.

"Just a lowly goblin, a mere beast..." he murmured, his voice tinged with chill.

His whole body began circulating power, magic rapidly gathering.

Zizi, zizi!

The air rang with the sound of electricity, dust on the ground vibrating, lighter leaves and twigs beginning to float upward.

"This human...is no simpleton!" The Goblin King finally revealed a solemn expression, sensing David's truly formidable power within.

"But wanting to build up power for one strike right in front of me? Humans are indeed foolish beyond cure!" He snorted derisively and immediately hefted up his spiked club again to attack David.

He understood it was impermissible to allow David time to finish powering up, he had to interfere again.

This time, he would completely crush this arrogantly ignorant human!

"Raaaawr!" The Goblin King unleashed a deafening roar, his body emanating an eerie green glow, clearly enhanced by some ancient magic.

Holding aloft his heavy spiked club, the ground groaned under each thunderous step. Moving as swift as lightning, his power was astonishing.

"Game over, human! If you can withstand this blow, I'll permit you to become my new bride!" The Goblin King guffawed maniacally, raising the spiked club high, wanting to terminate David's power up.

Hum—

A cold light flashed in David's eyes as all his amassed might exploded forth in an instant, surging out forcefully in all directions with himself at the epicenter.

Boom! Rumble!

As the two tremendous powers collided, trees were uprooted, buildings crumbled into ruins, and weaker goblins were blasted flat by the shockwaves.

"Urgh!" The Goblin King's attack was easily nullified by David, and he himself was firmly captured by an invisible force, left struggling suspended in midair as the green magical glow around him flickered erratically.

"Hmph, foolish beast, caught firmly by my power now!" David said smugly.

Just now he had cunningly used the aura of powering up to mask initiating his position, successfully trapping the alert Goblin King.

"Time to end this farce, die!" A ruthless light glinted through his eyes as his right hand slowly closed in the air, an invisible energy coalescing in his palm.

Zizi, zizi...

Based on past experience, nothing could withstand this strike. With just a light squeeze, he could crush anything to dust.

"Wow, amazing! Our goddess is going to win!" Leah cheered, only to be quickly shushed by Emma to keep her voice down lest she disturb the two combatants.

"Hey dummy, you don't understand high-level battles so stop overreacting all the time," Emma calmly whispered a timely reminder.

"This power, it's simply unbelievable, too terrifying!" Joseph couldn't help but sigh deeply.

"How is this possible!" Alec was most shocked, as his higher level allowed him to comprehend more details.

"This is clearly one of the Mage's basic skills, Position Control, usually only usable on weaker creatures..." he muttered to himself.

"How did she do it? To easily capture the Goblin King, even the mightiest Mages I've seen in the city-states can't accomplish this!" Alec was astonished beyond belief.

"Could it be...her power has truly surpassed the Goblin King?" This shocking thought flashed through his mind.

Just as David had succeeded in capturing the Goblin King, he found himself in a quandary.

Originally, he only needed a light squeeze to crush his enemy to dust.

Yet to his surprise, he discovered he couldn't budge it at all!

It felt as if he was gripping a raw walnut, no matter how hard he squeezed it was useless, only faint cracking sounds could be heard but he was unable to end the Goblin King's life.

"How can this be, so tough!" He couldn't help but secretly marvel.

"Position Control is a controlling ability, not an offensive power. When facing such a formidable creature some struggle is inevitable," Lynn promptly provided an explanation.

"Raaawr, raaaawr!" The Goblin King unleashed blood-curdling screams, the sounds so enormous and terrifying as if from the depths of hell.

"Human, you shall die by my hand, I will kill you and make you suffer the cruelest torments in this world!" It roared furiously, eyes spewing boundless hatred.

David was even more shocked. Any other creature subjected to such an attack would have been crushed to dust, or at least rendered immobile. Yet the Goblin King could still struggle and roar, the first time he had witnessed such resilience.

It seemed Lynn's so-called invincibility, when facing monsters of this level, was also revealing its limits.

Of course, this was also due to David's inexperience in control.

If it had been Lynn, the situation would surely be completely different. After all, David was only borrowing her physical abilities, his mind not yet fully matched to it.

"My King, my King, we're here to save you!"

"Foolish humans, dare to harm our great King!"

Three goblin elites in different colored armor, wielding spears, giant axes and iron hammers, swiftly closed in on David.

David now stood rigidly like a wooden post, all his strength focused on confronting the Goblin King, unable to act freely, giving them the opportunity to strike.

"Alright, looks like I'll have to deal with these small fries first." Left with no choice, David released the Goblin King and turned to face the new enemies.

Boom!

Activating Position, a powerful aura of spiritual energy instantly erupted around him, sweeping forth irresistibly!

The tremendous shockwave directly blasted the three goblin elites far away. They let out pitiful shrieks as their bodies were ripped open, crashing lifeless to the ground in pools of blood.

"No!" Taking the chance to land, the Goblin King let out a heart-wrenching wail.

Covered in wounds, its once impenetrable armor now lay in shattered ruins, drenched in blood.

"Grunk, Skree, Blix! My sons!" It pounded the ground in despair. So those three goblin elites were its children, also the strongest warriors of the entire tribe.

"Human, you dare kill my children, you will pay a dreadful price!"

"Before you die, I will force you to bear endless children, you must give birth to a hundred goblin descendants for me!" The Goblin King had gone completely mad, bellowing in terror.

"Bloodline Return!" It roared, beginning to swiftly wave its hands in bizarre gestures, chanting spells, as if conducting some ancient ritual.

In an instant the sky was shrouded in dark clouds, obscuring the noon sun, the surroundings plunged into gloom.

The goblin corpses on the ground transformed into crimson light, writhing like living beings toward the Goblin King, coiling around its body, squeezing and absorbing.

"Urgh!" With a muffled grunt, the Goblin King's physique swelled again after absorbing its kin's bloodline, its towering six-meter frame appearing even more mighty and terrifying, exuding a surging aura of bloodlust and murder.

The spectators on the distant high ground also paled in fright at this sudden transformation, shivering in fear.

"That's it!" Alec exclaimed through chattering teeth, "As expected, it has reached the Transcendence realm, this is its super ability!"

"Judging by its appearance and combat traits, it is likely the 'Berserker' class."

The onlooking crowd was already too shocked to speak, legs turning soft, countless thoughts of fleeing running wild in their minds.

"Please True King, protect our goddess, don't let her lose to it!" Leah whispered.

"Silly girl, the goddess is the True King's emissary, who are you praying to..." Even in this perilous moment, Emma couldn't help making a sarcastic quip.

On the battlefield, David's expression was also grave. This power that could alter the heavens and earth was truly chilling!

In but a few breaths, after absorbing its offspring's bloodline, the Goblin King's aura had clearly grown several times stronger!

"Position Control!" David hurriedly tried to control it again.

"Screw your control!" The Goblin King bellowed as its colossal body moved completely unfazed, already closing in in an instant.

Boom!

David was sent flying again, his face clearly bruised and numb. This terrifying attack power was nearly piercing through his defenses!

Before he could even steady himself, that giant green silhouette had already recklessly pounced at him again.

Boom!

David was fiercely smashed away again.

Boom! Boom!! Boom!!

The Goblin King raised its heavy spiked club and furiously unleashed continuous strikes on David, batting him around like a ball.

The ground shook ceaselessly, dust flying, surrounding buildings and trees crumbling into ruins one after another, the surroundings a picture of apocalypse.

"Watch how I slaughter you, human! Daring to kill my sons, I will have you repay your blood debt today!" The Goblin King said coldly.

Under its relentless barrage, even David was starting to clearly feel pain. Micro abrasions appeared on his skin, his defenses on the verge of being penetrated.

The onlooking crowd was anxious to the point their hearts were in their throats. They could only see a green silhouette bouncing around, every movement stirring up swirling dust clouds, destroying everything in its path.

"Goddess..." Leah couldn't help but murmur.

"Damn it, the goddess' movements are restricted, we have to go save her, she can't take much more of this!" Joseph said urgently.

"I'm completely lost, their power has exceeded my knowledge. Battles at this level..." Alec was dumbfounded, at a complete loss.

David was forced to gnash his teeth, but his reaction speed was no match for the Goblin King, and he had no means to counterattack.
