Underground Demons

The Great Jin Dynasty.

This is a vast land, stretching over millions of miles.

On this land, there are five tall mountains, each housing one of the Five Great Immortal Sects.

Additionally, there are many Cultivators and sects scattered throughout various mountain ranges, although not as powerful as the Five Great Immortal Sects.

Beneath the earth lies an expansive and almost boundless world, inhabited by various demons and monsters.

These underground creatures are surprisingly powerful, and the deeper one ventures underground, the greater the likelihood of encountering formidable foes.

While these demons mostly dwell beneath the surface, there are occasional instances where they can emerge onto the earth's surface from underground.

Because of this, many sects and Cultivators are tasked with slaying demons and monsters.

This is what is known as "slaying demons and monsters."

In the Great Jin Dynasty, encounters between Cultivators and underground demons are quite common.

Recently, in Eastwild County, there has been unrest.

Eastwild County was generally peaceful, but about two months ago, demons were said to have appeared in the vicinity of Guangye Mountain in the east of Eastwild County.

These demons began attacking people, initially with few casualties. However, as time passed, almost anyone passing through the area near Guangye Mountain would be attacked and killed by the demons.

This development immediately threw Eastwild County into disarray.

Eastwild County is a remote small county with few nearby official roads.

The area around Guangye Mountain, in particular, is crucial for travel. If that road becomes impassable, Dongye County would almost be cut off from the outside world.

The county magistrate knew that he couldn't deal with those demons on his own.

Having previously experienced the power of demons during his time in East State, he understood that only Cultivators could handle them.

Although the country magistrate had some authority, it paled in comparison to the Five Great Immortal Sects, but he still had a few Cultivators under his command who served the Great Jin Dynasty.

The situation in Eastwild County was dire, and action was necessary.

At this moment, it was heard that the Hammer, a police in the county, had a fourth brother who was also a Cultivator and had recently come down from the mountains.

The county magistrate was delighted and immediately sent for the Hammer to ask his fourth brother for assistance.

Demons were likely creatures that had emerged from underground.

However, the situation now was that if the demon on Guangye Mountain wasn't dealt with, his elder brother Hammer and second brother Hank, both constables, would inevitably have to confront it.

Eastwild County was indeed much busier than Eastforest Town. Hammer, feeling somewhat proud, remarked, "Eastwild County is quite prosperous. I plan to move here in the future." As a constable, he earned a good salary, and buying a large house in the county wouldn't be difficult.

The streets were lined with shops such as rice shops, grain shops, and pawn shops, indicating prosperity.

However, there were noticeably fewer pedestrians.

Ever since news of the demon near Guangye Mountain spread, the county had become significantly quieter. 

Finally, they arrived at the Eastwild County Office.

It was a large compound with a prominent feature—a large drum called the "Drum of Complaints," where grievances could be aired. The steps leading up to the office were nine in number, quite high, and on top of them stood two stone lions, fierce and imposing. The red-painted gates were adorned with yellow bronze rings.

Such was the grandeur of the Eastwild County Office, exuding an aura of power.

"Constable, good morning."

"Constable, greetings." Hammer, being a constable, received greetings from the locals as they passed.

However, these greetings were directed at Harry, as they had heard that the Hammer's fourth brother was a Shian. They had rarely seen such a young Shian before.

After a while, the rotund county magistrate, Huang Guang, came out to greet them personally.

Cultivators were far superior to him, a mere county magistrate, and he trembled with enthusiasm as he praised Harry, "Constable Hammer, your fourth brother truly possesses celestial grace and heroism at such a young age."

As he praised Harry, the county magistrate couldn't help but wonder if such a young Shian could handle the task at hand.

The demon on Guangye Mountain was formidable, having claimed numerous lives already.
