Just those few words were enough to trigger her memories. He could tell that she probably had forgotten some parts but hearing the words from Joan must have triggered her lost memories to come back.
"I wish he was still alive till today. He almost did quite a number on you. I guess that you got lucky. I would really like to hear your screams now that you have matured," one of the masked guys said. He rolled his tongue out such that it reached his nose.
"Stop... Stop..." Were the only words that she could utter.
"You will be begging with the same words few hour from now. I feel glad that he left your innocence. I guess that it will have to be us who finish the unfinished business," the other guy said.
His eyes were very lustful and his tongue also reached his nose. They somehow appeared like dogs.
"Don't worry Aurora. We will kill you soon after he is dead. Your bloodline must be put to end," Joan said ignoring her comrades' lustful actions.
"We will have to feast on you first though. It would be a shame to kill you before we do it," the first guy said. Aurora was in a trance and all she could was beg them to stop. She even fell on her knees. She was trying to block their words but it was no use.
She heard them clearly. Alaric had bent and picked her in his hands. He had an angry look on his face.
"Why don't you all shut up!" He shouted in anger. Aurora was still uttering the words and trembling.
The guys all laughed when they heard him. He dared to try to command them? With his low cultivation, what could he possibly do to them.
"I know you have a plan and that is why you waited for us but be warned that its not going to work." Joan said.
" I was planning on saving my life first and hand her over to you. She definitely is not worth to risk my life," Alaric said. The gang stopped laughing. "Would you let me go if I handed her over to you?"
"Had you not interfered to begin with, you would probably not be in this mess. But you foolishly made enmity with us by escaping with her. There is no chance that we would let you go after what you have made us go through," Joan said anger discernible from her voice
"We know you are trying to act smart and give us the girl then lure us into a trap. We won't fall for it brat," one of the guys said.
"You have learnt to be cautious infront of me and you take every word I say as a trap. I must have frustrated those smart brains of yours," he said laughing. He saw the mouths of the three twitch and their anger rose.
"We will kill you," Joan said angrily.
"See who dies first," Alaric said and snapped his fingers. The ground opened and a hole of a diemeter of ten meters appeared below the gang.
Three quarter the number who had let their guard down fell into the hole. It appeared as an empty hole and when the guys saw that it was not a trap, they sighed.
"They will just crawl out of the hole brat. Did you think that a fall that near could kill them?" Joan asked. The two guys were laughing and clapping.
"I doubt any of them will come out of the it alive," Alaric said and subsequent screams came from the hole. "Concealment arrays really helped in them lowering their guard. I have my teacher here to thank for that," he continued.
The screams did not fade and agony filled the pit. Some were calling out for Joan to help them. Joan and the remaining eight guys stared at the hole. There were ice shards on the ground.
The guys had been tricked into lowering their guards by the concealment array.
Even they had not thought that he would set a trap for them and wait for their arrival.
He had started talking to them making them lower their guard. Joan felt like a fool. She always found herself playing in the palm of his hand. All the guys who had fallen into the pit were having their last breaths.
The sharp ice shards were painted with blood that was all over the bottom.
"Why are they not healing?" Joan mumbled unconciously. At least they should have stopped bleeding but their bleeding appeared to just keep increasing.
She turned to Alaric who had a smile on his face.
"I don't explain myself to intelligent people. Maybe if you were dumb, you would ask why they are still bleeding," he said and ignored them. Instead he focused his attention to Aurora.
"Hey, open your eyes, our plan worked," he said to her as he removed her hands from her ears. "Look at me," he said slapping her cheeks gently. Her breathing was ragged and she had passed out.
He could not help but wonder just how traumatic it was for her to faint at the memory of it. And infront of him were the perpetrators.
He could tell that she had exerted herself too much by creating the ice shards. He had also asked her to coat them with poison. Her wood element had a greater affinity for poison.
Joan grit her teeth when she heard his reply. He was very gutsy. He even dared to ask her to confess that she was dumb. She always made smart moves and never failed in any missions.
Her battle experience was great and so was her intelligence. Yet, infront of his schemes, all her moves appeared dumb making her appear like a fool.
He had made them rise their guard. Yet she felt like they would fall right into another scheme of his. They watched as the last of the guys took his last breaths.
They were fuming in rage as they turned to look at him. That was a twenty men down. They had lost such a number to a brat with a lower cultivation than them with two Planes!
The dead guys were their friends and most importantly their comrades. Revenge was all they could think of. Even the plan to put him through pain was forgotten. What really mattered was to see him dead.
There was no need for words and the five masked guys stepped forward. They were on high alert of anything that he did. They stepped on the ground lightly on their toes.
Seeing that they were approaching him, Alaric raised his hand pointed at them. They stopped for a few seconds waiting for something to happen but nothing happened. They sighed and headed towards him.
They punched their fist into their palms as they approached him. Alaric did not bother to move or let go of Aurora. Instead, he was watching her sleep.
He felt his inside boil in rage when he thought that these guys dared try to do something to her six years ago. He was not going to probe from her. He was not that nosey.
The masked guys suddenly stopped and changed their directions. Some headed back towards Joan and others headed towards the trees.
They were all laughing foolishly with their arms wide open.
"Got you little brat," was all they were saying hugging the air others hugging the trees.
Now that they were moving carelessly, they let their guard down and all fell into random holes. One guy in particular went into the main pit and jumped inside it.
Joan and the three men did not understand what was wrong with them. How had they all stopped after reaching him? Also, the random holes that appeared shook her.
That was to mean that the only place where a hole could not be was where they were standing. To mean that the ground was covered with holes.
Also the fact that all these guys of the early stages had all died was shocking. Especially how the five acted like they had lost control of their bodies.
"I see that the three of you are very resistant to poison. You even don't seem to realize that you have been poisoned," Alaric said with a serious look. He did not have any other move.
He could tell that these three were the most powerful. During his sleep, he had come to realize that the system had the ability to extract any foreign substances in his body.
He was also delighted that the system had extracted the psychedelic. He had asked if he could get it and the system had generated it for him. It appeared in a small bottle.
He also learnt that the system had made the psychedelic a mutant. Such that, while someone was hallucinating, there was poison that would slowly eat off their inner organs.
"Are you willing to confess that you are dumb and ask how that feat was possible?" He asked with an amused smile.
"How?" The three did not even hesitate and asked.
