Chapter 69. All Out 2

The tsunami was now moving at a speed incomprehensible to the eye such that it appeared to be standing on the ground still. There was vigorous lightning inside the tsunami and suddenly there was a roar that came from inside it.

The roar was sky piercing and everyone had to cover their ears. From the top of the tsunami came a magnificent yet scary sight. They surely were going all out. The tsunami crumbled and from it came a serpent. Serpent was not the correct word to describe it.

One could also call it a dragon. But dragon was still not the word. It was almost ten meters long. It had four legs and on it head were two tendrils. It also had two horns. The creature appeared to have the colour grey. Some people were in daze of what it was and it was until some of those who had been holding their breath spoke did they realize what it was.

"A qillin..."

"No... An element insurgent..."

People gasped when they heard it was an element insurgent . There were thousand of them but dragon type element insurgent were rare. They were even termed as extinct and infront of their eyes was one.

An element insurgent was the form taken by your element. It could also be termed as a manifestation but this manifestation could be used to fight. Element insurgents were best form of attack. An element insurgent could evolve and get its own conciousness thus enabling it to act on its own without its owner controlling it.

As the name suggested, it was a higher form of the element of the owner. The tsunami disappeared but it turned out that it had turned into the element insurgent. The creature roared at Ken who was still adding another dome. Virnie directed the insurgent to go round in the air in a circle.

The insurgent started moving in a circle. It was almost fifty meters above the ground. The speed started slow but in thirty seconds, the creature had built a momentum as fast as when it had been a tsunami. It appeared to be like a circle floating in the air.

The speed was enough and the warrior dived in the direction of Ken. The speed was fast even for a lightning and light elementalist. The insurgent collided with Ken in less than two seconds and more than ten booms resounded in the stadium.

There was a white steam that appeared after the last collision and from the white steam shot out Ken who had been thrown from the ground. All the barriers had failed and crumbled. Also, the shield he had built around himself had been destroyed and he had taken some bit of injuries from the impact.

He rolled several times before he stopped. His front on the ground. He grit his teeth as he tried to lift himself like he was doing press ups. He stood after around ten seconds but his face was like that of someone who had been ran over by a horde of beasts. He had an amused smile on his face.

The insurgent was now behind Virnie. It was around ten meters above him and curled up. They both were staring at Ken who had just stood up. The insurgent seemed to be thirsty of battle because its battle intent seemed to reach the skies.

Ken looked at his friend who was now foe for the next few minutes and he spat out a mouthfull of blood. Seeing this, Virnie paused.

"Are you okay or should we call it quits?" Virnie asked.

"You know I would never give up that fast. You also know that its just minor scratch." Ken said as he wiped the blood from his lips.

" Don't blame me then," Virnie said not bothering with the topic anymore.

"You know had this been a real tournament you would be out now had I not let you stay?" Virnie said bragging. He actually had hit him from behind so that he would not be eliminated when he was sent flying.

" I let you hit me," Ken sneered. Virnie seemed to get annoyed as he threatened by stepping forward.

Ken unconsciously took a step backwards but he then took two forward.

" That attack is not going to work on me again,'' Ken said confidently.

"Wanna have it again?" Virnie teased as his insurgent rose in the air. "This time you won't have time to build up your defense." He said.

The insurgent started going in a circle and built enough momentum before it dove towards Ken. People were wondering why Ken was not making a move or trying to build his defense up. Was he planning to impair himself for life?

When the insurgent was ten meters away from him, ken closed his eyes and opened his hands as if welcoming the insurgent. Virnie could have paused but he knew that this was a gesture that he should not stop the attack. The insurgent was only a meter away from him and he still was not moving.

Some closed their eyes and others wanted to shout at Virnie to stop. They had lost a talent was all they could think about as they saw the insurgent slam into Ken's chest. Some had closed their eyes and other just looked away not willing to witness the demise of a genius.

But the crash never happened. Those who had been watching with baited breath just sucked in another one. The power of a time elementalist. Fighting a time elementalist could turn out to be the worse nightmare one encountered in their cultivation journey.

Looking at Virnie, he had an ugly expression. His insurgent had been dissolved. Time was a dangerous element and its users were limited. Only few chosen could be able to wield time element. Though, there were taboos like time travel which the universe repayed itself using the time travellers life taking from them 2000 years.

What Ken had done was reverse the time around the insurgent. At the moment, it was like Virnie had never summoned it. Ken had a content smile on his face having paid back for the damage caused by the damn insurgent. He had taken out the insurgent but he still wanted to cause pain on Virnie.

Without warning, he sent twelve lightning arrows at him.

"Lets see how you deal with these," he said and sat on the ground. Virnie created a water sword to fend off the arrows but even before he could counter the first one, it had already hit him on the chest.

He was sure he had aimed for it and his speed was supposed to be even faster than them. The attacks were not as powerfull as the one he had landed on Ken. The attacks could not do him too much damage but were like someone was hitting him with poles.

He tried to fend off all the attacks but they ended up striking at him. All of them. One thing he knew was that teleporting was useless because the attacks reached him immediately they were released. The last attack struck him at the chest as he fell and rolled several times.

"How?" He asked in disbelief as he sat up and looked at Ken who stood up. He should have at least fend off one but he had not.

"You should have figured it out on yourself but I guess your brain has become kinda of slow," Ken jested enjoying his new vantage point.

" Just stop bragging and tell me," Ken said with gritted teeth. The pain he was feeling was like it was getting fresh with every new second.

"Its simple actually, all those arrows were ahead of your timeline with one second. Sorry for your slow mind," Ken said with a sneer knowing that that had explained everything.

"For real?" Virnie asked and Ken just nodded. He already hated the time element. This was to mean that he was target no matter where he stopped.

It also hit him as he stood up angrily. He felt like charging at him and chew him with his teeth. He had been wondering why the pain was getting fresh with every passing second but how could he have not guessed that it was Ken's doing? Reversing time around the wounds such that the wound was fresh every time.

Ken laughed when he realized that Virnie had figured it out.

"You figured it out. From how slow your mind is at the moment I had thought you never would figure it out," Ken said not holding his laughter back.

"You will pay for that," Virnie said getting riled up once again. "My turn."

After one passed the late stages of the Salvia plane, they would be able to feel spatial tunnels and also lock them from being used by the oppenent. Ken could not feel these tunnels and he was going to suffer for that. Virnie declared that the space was all his and he created a water needle so thin that it almost disappeared.

The needle divided once then twice then thrice and continued until they were uncountable within a glance. Virnie closed his hands together with a clap and the needles disappeared.

"I am giving you this chance to give up before I attack. You should quit for I hate to put a friend through suffering," Virnie said.

Ken grit his teeth not willing to give up. He automatically hated the space element. Time could not work on space and could end up being faster or slower. He also knew that his time element could not block the needles that would open up from the space tunnels.

Also, he could not create a lightning dome to protect himself or even cover his body with lightning because Virnie was in control of all of the space there. He shook his head and raised his hands.

"I concede," be said and the needles which had disappeared reappeared and were turned to tiny water droplets.

"Don't you rejoice too much with such a shallow victory," Ken started blabbering after he had given up.

"Six months ago it was I who would have given up," Virnie said.

During the annual academy ranking tournament, Ken had ranked third and Virnie fourth. It seemed Virnie had improved than Ken. Even with the past victory, Ken had still struggled and had won narrowly. Virnie headed towards Ken as they bowed and left the platform.

As the people watched them leave the platform, they could not help but wonder why Ken had conceded. He did not appear to have been cornered or in the brink of death. Had he been convinced with such shallow words.

Those who understood what had transpired nodded as they watched them walk away. They too would have probably taken the same option. Those who did not understand asked around and they nodded with acknowledgement to Ken's decision.

"I think we should call the end of the matches," Irene said looking at Jackson who appeared to be contemplating looking in the sky.

"Or do you guys think there is another match left?" He asked as if he was confused. The students were all shouting and their words were clear to all.

"Stars war!"

"Stars war!"

The two smiled at each other. They understood that they were the stars since they had gotten first and second position with Jackson being first.

"Okay here we go," Irene said and the crowd quietened.

"Promise not to hurt me though," Irene said as she stretched.

Her hands raised and this caused her skirt to rise slightly almost revealing.

"Let the match begin," Jackson called for the match to start. They went on opposite sides of the platform and immediately charged at each other.
