Chapter 39. Instinct

Alaric could only thank the generous universe again. It was after Sarah's voice died down and the screen appeared infront of him that new changes happened.

As he woke the wind element, he had drawn the energy of the universe. This was something he was going to realize that after he awoke an element he would fill a set of meridians.

That was when he felt the energy find its way into his meridians. He was met by shock as he felt like his meridians would tear apart but it never happened. The energy filled the eight meridians to fill the second stage and filled the third stage's first meridian to a quarter.

Yes! This was something many would not beleive. This was not just luck, it was heavens blessing. He had skipped cultivating the first and second stage. If his friends saw him now they would almost shed tears.

How long had it been since he filled the first set, which he had not actually filled himself. It was almost two months at most and this was a very short period. It usually would take 2-3 months before one filled a set.

He had only stayed out for two weeks and he went back to his cultivation and after a month and 3 weeks period, he was going to appear before them with another filled set. Rey was going to call him something worse than a monster. The word monster could not even describe him anymore.

He stared at the screen and saw the new details about his abilities. The array part was obvious to him but instinct and split mind was something new to him. He could say he knew a little bit of the Split Mind but he did not know anything about the ability instinct.

Well, what he found amazing about instinct was the fact that it was a guide. A guide. He would do things on instinct not guess work. What was more mind blowing was the fact that it was going to evolve to become perception.

Perception was like an improved version of instinct. Perception could enable you to know what was in an area according to your range. Some could reach even at 10,000 km. This would mean that whatever was in that radius would be in his grasp.

The question was either he would be able to evolve his instinct to perception. No matter how long, he was going to work on his instinct and later make it perception. Though, instinct could be said as the analogue version of perception.

The other thing that left him with a sad expression was his newly awakened element. How could he even show it off? The academy would even expel him if they realized that he had a Sixth Grade element. How could you call that a trump card!

He also shook his head when he realized that he had only absorbed a 0.1%. That meant that he had an entire 99.9%! It was then Sarah's voice came.

[...]-Subject absorbed 0.1% and that was poor. As the immortal king, you are supposed to be exceptional. It usually takes almost two months for one to absorb that 0.1%. It should be noted that doing it in one week is not commendable. You should do it in a day or two...

Alaric was no longer listening. Two months? Was this system not reasoning? He took a damn week! He was supposed to be hailed as a genius but the system called him poor! So what if he was the Immortal King? How had he created such an annoying system?

What Alaric did not know was that according to the immortal rating, that 0.1% should have been integrated in 3-4 days. As the immortal king, it should have been less!

[...] Warning! Subject should stop rating hiimself in the the human scale. In the Immortal scale. A normal individual should take a week to integrate the 0.1%. For geniuses it takes 3-4 days. If you were to do it in the past, it took you only a day.

Alaric could not be hurt by her words!

"If my Bloodline was not sealed, I would have done it in few hours!" Alaric retorted at the system. Well that was true. Even the system did not have words to refute. But it could use it to increase his pressure.

[...]- Don't you think that this calls for you to hurry up and break the seal so you can enjoy all the benefits as the immortal king?

Alaric did not pay more attention as he fell into deep thoughts. One thing he had realized was that integrating the Blood Essence was not only going to help in improving his grade but it was also going to act as a cultivation resource.

If he could integrate a percentage, it could help him fill a meridian. It was also going to help in hardening his body. This would mean that he was going to start body cultivation. It would not hurt having strength that surpassed his energy, right?

What suddenly hit him was that his energy cultivation was crossing in the gap. He had to always ensure that his body was always a stage ahead. This was going to help in catching his opponent off guard. Not many would expect their opponent to have more body strength than their energy, would they?

With this blood essence he was going to have an easier time keeping up his pace. Whenever his thoughts were about to go astray, Sarah's voice would come to him. The screen also appeared.

[...]- You must not stop exercising your physical body. You may rely on Blood Essence alone but the result will not be at the peak. If you exercise your muscles, it will always make sure that you create your own body.

As you have noted since five, your body has the ability to fight a person who is of the fourth stage. If you rely on Blood Essence, you will end up adding impurities to your constitution. You must also awaken your immortal body constitution so as to maintain your stand as a body cultivator.

Alaric was bombarded with this information and the thoughts of stopping his exercise disappeared. What Sarah meant was that to be the perfect body cultivator, he had to ensure that he could balance the new blood essence together with his body.

It was not that he was being told to not integrate the Blood Essence, he was being told not to fully depend on it but Sarah spoke again breaking his heart.

[...] -Once you fully awaken your body constitution, every impurity in your body will be removed. This involves all the foreign blood essences in your body... This means that you can do whatever you want but I recommend that you don't use the any Blood Essence to strengthen your body.

Alaric understood and agreed. He was going to integrate it to help him awaken his element to the first grade and help him in his energy cultivation. From calculations, he realized that he could reach to the middle stages of the master plane if he completely integrated the Blood Essence.

He could only laugh when he realized it. What this meant that the Cryptic Plane was going to be a walk in the park. Well he could say so but it was going to take him almost two years.

From his calculations, by the time the academy competitions took place, he was going to have reached the seventh stage. He knew that it was going to be in a year and three months. He did not know since when he was concerned about the comptetitions. He looked forward to it like there was something stored in there for him

Also in three months was going to be the end of year party. He actually did not attend the past ones but this one he was not going to miss it. He could tell that something of significance was going to happen. Something that had to do with his mission to protect Aurora.

It could not be a coincidence that he had awoken the system just few months from the end of year party. He pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind. He had been away for so long.

Alaric walked out and after walking around 50 meters, he felt someone move. What the system had failed to mention because it was obvious was that instinct was like a sixth sense. Though its range was not large he could feel what was happening in the space of 50 meters.

What he realized was that the person moved immediately he was ten meters from him. Maybe it was just a coincidence but after moving around 10 meters, he felt another figure move. He could tell that there were two people trailing him.

After moving around fifty meters, when he was in the library, he could feel that four figures had been following him. This could not be a coincidence. He stopped and he felt them stop and moved when he moved. One thing he realized was that they were not together.

It was even more shocking that they appeared like they did not know of each other's presence. Were they idiots? He had realized in an instant, that they were following him. If he knew that they had been following him since he crushed with them, he would understand. How could he when he did not even know who they were.

If he had gained the instinct during their encounter, he would have recognized them. This was a side ability of instinct. He could sense presence! He decided to lock on their presence so that he would always recognize them whenever they were closer. This was going to help him know if they were folowing him or not.

He left and headed towards his dorm. The first thing he always felt like doing after cultivating was taking a bath. He headed to his room. He was glad that Rey was not around. He did not want to be met by ridiculous comments especially shameless ones from Rey.
