Normal life here we go

(Kassandra POV)

"What do you like? Except food, you clearly like it a lot" I asked Clementine, I need to learn more about her and try to make her happy, she's just a unfortunate kid that got abandoned

"Hmmmm... that's a hard one, food is the thing I like the most in this planet, but if I can't go with food then... I like to read, try to actually, my parents never thought me how to do it. Do you know how to read? *growl*"

"Are you hungry? Tell me what you want to eat and I will buy it for you" I had a decent amount of money that Triss gave to me before she died, she said they were from a group of bandits that tried to rob the village a long time ago, we can see how it happen, F...

(What did people ate in those times?)

"Anything is fine Lady, bread, cheese and meat, just thinking about it makes me drool" A small droplet of saliva dripped from her mouth while she said those words

"I got a better idea, why don't we go to the street market and you can get anything you want?" the look Clementine gave me the second I said that, made me regret letting her choose anything, even though she looked happy and excited I could see she was tired and only one thing came into my head. Piggyback ride, I know that it seems a little bit to soon but who cares, right? I squatted and put my hand down

"Climb up, I know you're tired" she slowly approched me and finally sat on my shoulder. We went on our tour through the market and she bought tons of food, I've never seen someone eat this much in my entire life, also my hair is all full of crumbs and fat, consequence of having a kid eat on the top of her head. Even with my hair dirty and not being able to do what I planned for myself I am very happy with her, I knew it was the right decision to adopt her. (Btw I changed Clementine's age from 11 to 7) It was time for me to live a normal life for a few years, no enemies, I will still train some times but much, much less than before, for once in my life a entire day was happy and with no problems, if you ignore money of course.

"*Sigh* I'm full lady, do you have a--"

"First of all don't keep calling me "lady", call me by my name or a nickname, I don't know, I'm terrible with names (Truth, I'm am TERRIBLE with names, name generator is my greatest companion while choosing names)

"Hmmmm... It's to soon to call you mom or mommy so out of question... maybe Kas? Kassie? I think Kassie is good" This kid is very good with names, unlike someone I know

"Kassie is perfect for now, then I will call you... Clem!" HA! A good name for once (Praise the Google)

Her eyes widened and she hugged my head strongly "This is the first time someone gave me a nickname" this is sad and good at the same time, sad cuz she never had a nickname, and good as she has one now, and a very good one I must say

"Well, there's a first time for everything, but cheer up Clem, you got a new life now, with me, that sounded weird, let me rephrase, you get a new life with me as your mom. 'nailed it' We are going to eat aaaaaaaaaaaall the food you want, the toys you wanted to have, clothes, house, everything you want, but the most important, love" I feel like I'm wrecking in this mom thing (Guess Im a natural father) hmph, what can I say? It's talent "Oh, and what were you going to say earlier?"

"I was going to ask if you have a house" If this was a manga my face would be white as a sheet of paper

"Er... We have the inn, I still need to buy a house though, but don't worry about this, I am going to handle everything for us, but for now let's go back to the inn and rest" The inn was less than 10 minutes of walking so we got there quickly, Clementine and I had a shower, separately of course, the only clothes she has were the ones she was already wearing so I gave her my clothes temporally and let me tell you, she looked very, VERY CUTE.

The room we were in has only one very big bed, we both laid down to sleep, I patted her head and wished her a good sleep. I rolled to the other side of the bed and tried to sleep.

5 minutes trying to sleep and I feel a hand falling hard at my face, then a foot in my hip, and a mouth in my head, I tried to push her put she clinged hard in me so I'll just leave her be, the feeling of being hugged in the back by someone was something I forgot, the last time was almost a hundred years ago but it wasn't the same thing, this time it's much more cozy and warm. It didn't took long for me to fall asleep.

A bright light hit my eyes, I felt something heavy on top of me, it was Clementine. Judging by the sun's position it must be around 8 or 9am ' I'll let her sleep a bit more' I slowly got the blanket and covered her eyes. Probably a hour or more passed and she finally woke up, the first words she said made me laugh "Hungry... food... Want food"

"Good morning for you too Cleo, what do want to eat? we can't eat here in the inn because of the time, you took to long to wake up"

" *gasp!*" Her sleep face was gone and now a surprised face was there "I can't believe this! My foooooooood!"
