The next few days were a blur to Ha Eun. She was dragged everywhere with Do Mi and Soo Ryun. At moments she tried to talk to Han Soo but, he didn't seem to want to talk. She thought he didn't like her, and she was fine with that; the man didn't even apologize for how rude he was the first time they met, but it somehow bothered her that he wouldn't talk to her.
Ha Eun walked into the bedroom and prepared herself to go take a shower.
"What are you thinking about?" Chang Wook asked. Ha Eun slowly turned her head and saw Chang Wook leaning on the door frame, an apple in his hand "You look so serious, its bothersome"
Ha Eun looked down at herself. The only thing she had on was her underwear, and the shirt she was holding, ready to throw in the laundry. She didn't know why Chang Wook was there. He was supposed to be out bonding with his father, if he even could. She knew that he and that man didn't get along.
Chang Wook looked at his boss from head to toe and from toe to head. To his surprise there was a nice body under all that serious clothes. She had a body that every guy would consider hot and that every girl would be envious of but that didn't keep Ha Eun from feeling self-conscious and her face grow as red as a tomato.
"PERVERT!" she yelled and threw her shirt at him. The only thing she had that protected her from his gaze.
"Really?! Rather than throwing your clothes at me you should have run to put on some clothes" he said laughing taking her shirt off his face. Once he could see again, he had a pillow thrown at his face. Which for a pillow, it was surprisingly painful.
Ha Eun put on a blanket "Get out!" she yelled.
"Why?" he asked her, smiling.
"I'm in my underwear!"
"I'm sorry but you lost all rights to privacy once you started sharing this room with me" Chang Wook said with a smug look on his face. Ha Eun threw another pillow at him but this time he dodged it.
He took another bite of his apple and as he turned to walk out he said "Nice tattoo by the way" he closed the door behind him. Ha Eun's face was as red as a tomato. She couldn't help but feel all sorts of embarrassment.
"I wasn't even wearing matching underwear" she covered her face and fell on the bed.
Chang Wook couldn't help but feel all kinds of embarrassment for having checked out his boss and actually liking what he saw. He didn't even let her know of his presence until at least a minute of staring at her.
"I'm such a pervert" he covered his face, took a deep breath, then went downstairs.
His mother and father were in the kitchen talking about him and Ha Eun.
"Go and invite her to play golf or something" Do Mi told Han Soo.
"Why should I?" Han Soo didn't want to go and bond with his daughter-in-law, he didn't even bond with his son. They watched baseball on the TV but when he tried to talk to him about his future he just left the house.
Chang Wook though, didn't really leave the house, he just went to the garage to hit that punching bag a few times. He hadn't hit for a while, not after what happened. He graduated and soon after he packed his bags for Seoul. Only his mother and grandmother knew of his plans. No one else, not even Mi Jin. He planned on calling Mi Jin a few times, but he thought it would bring back bad memories. Thinking about the past just made him hit the punching bag more and more until he couldn't take it anymore.
As he listened to his parents he knew that his mother wanted his father to apologize to Ha Eun for the horrible first impression. Although Chang Wook agreed with his mother that his father should apologize, He and Ha Eun had the same type of horrible personality. It worried him that with Ha Eun's temper, she might end up punching his father.
"Um…I'm not sure sure that's a good idea" Chang Wook said to his parents.
"Why? You don't want me to talk to your fiancée? Are you embarrassed?" Han Soo asked him in an annoyed tone.
Chang Wook was trying to help his father and Ha Eun but somehow he ended up encouraging his father into hanging out with Ha Eun. Do Mi smiled and Chang Wook and gave him a thumbs up. His father always does the opposite of what he's told, he should have agreed with his mom.
Ha Eun arrived downstairs and greeted everyone.
"Let's go play some golf" Han Soo got straight to the point. Rather than asking, it was more of a command. Chang Wook looked over and Ha Eun. She was smiling but he knew that behind that smile was something far worse. Although his father was about 300 pounds of muscle, Ha Eun was 99 pounds of rage. Just like his father didn't like Ha Eun, she wasn't so fond of him either.
Chang Wook was panicking "Don't agree so quickly!" he wanted to yell to Ha Eun.
"Then let's go. I'll get my clubs" Han Soo said.
Chang Wook asked Ha Eun "Do you even know how to play golf?"
"I thought you knew everything about me" Ha Eun winked at Chang Wook and left with Han Soo.
"I'm worried" Chang Wook said to his mother "Should I follow them?"
"Why are you worrying so much?" Do Mi asked her son "Its not like your father is going to murder her" After Do Mi said those words she got worried.
"Maybe she'll murder him" Chang Wook said.
"Everything will be fine" Do Mi forced a chuckle.
...…..
Ha Eun was impressed how Chang Wook's family also owned a golf club. Ha Eun started to wonder what this family didn't own.
"Have you played golf?" Han Soo asked Ha Eun.
"Its been a while but, yes I have"
Ha Eun knew this type of bonding was all Do Mi's idea but she also knew that Han Soo had some questions for her, he was a business man and a serious one at that so, Ha Eun decided to stop acting nice and get to the point.
"What do you want to know?" she asked.
"So, you also act like that" Han Soo was surprised by the sudden change in Ha Eun's personality, but he expected as much. She's a business woman and not a normal one at that, she's a CEO just like him.
Han Soo, once he hit the ball he asked, "Why my son?" the ball though, missed the hole by a few inches. It was Ha Eun's turn this time "You must have a lot of suitors. Why your secretary?"
Ha Eun hit the ball and it went in the hole "Does it bother you that I'm with your son?" she asked him.
"You're a businesswoman, you know how marriages work between people like us. No marriage is because of love but of what each family can offer the other"
They walked to the next hole "That's true" Ha Eun agreed with him.
"You must know that we come from old money" Han Soo said. Ha Eun could guess as much "We dabble in a little bit of everything. We don't work with one specific thing. What's that English saying? 'A jack of all trades is better than a master of one'?"
"I've heard that saying" Ha Eun said "Your company is very interesting" she thought that if one business faild they could always lean on another one and another one. They knew how businesses worked, while the OG Group only dabbled with Entertainment and just recently started working on the building of a hotel.
"You think OG Group can offer your family anything?" They moved onto the next hole.
Han Soo hit the ball and this time it went in the hole.
"Of cours I do" Han Soo "They can offer us a lot" Ha Eun knew there was a 'but' coming. Any father would be ecstatic to hear his son would be marrying her, why was this man being so difficult?
"The Kim family marry for love" Han Soo continued "We've remained in this business because the people trust us, they see themselves in us. If we marry just for profit, we'll be like everyone of those rich people"
Ha Eun knew where he was going with this "You think I don't love your son" she said.
She got ready to hit the next ball "I know you don't" Han Soo said, this time, she missed the hole.
"What makes you so sure"
"You two don't hold hands, refused to kiss, I saw a bit of hesitation when the two of you didn't want to share the same bedroom" Han Soo smiled "I saw the panic in your eyes when Do Mi wanted to throw the wedding here and its weird how the only pictures of both of you on Wook's phone are just two, and they are from the Cherry Blossom Festival"
"You checked Wook's phone?" Ha Eun asked surprised.
"His birthday isn't much of a password"
They walked to the next hole. Ha Eun was beginning to get worried about how she was going to rid him of his suspicions. Han Soo was preparing himself to hit the ball.
"So rather than think we just don't want to show affection in public you just had to assume we don't love each other" Ha Eun said. Han Soo misses the hole.
Ha Eun goes to hit the ball "What kind of woman calls her fiancée a pervert and yells at him to get out?" Han Soo asks. She as well misses the hole.
"You saw us?"
"I heard you" Han Soo said "I haven't told Do Mi about my suspicions because she's very excited about this marriage. So, let's make a deal, shall we?" They walk to the next hole. Ha Eun thought that this man was really Chang Wook's father.
"You want to do business with me?" Ha Eun asked impressed. The man not only saw through their charade he also hasn't told on them. Ha Eun was interested in what his offer will be.
"Call off the marriage and fire my son" the man said. Ha Eun wasn't expecting this outcome. She felt weird about his demand. Her heart ached.
"I don't see how this deal benefits me at all" Ha Eun said, trying to keep her composure.
"Easy" Han Soo smiles "I won't tell the world about your sham marriage"
