Chapter 2: The fathers
As Alex walked home, she was wondering about the birthday plan that she and Martha had been preparing for George for the past week, she heard a car stopped right next to her, she thought it was a cab that wanted to give her a lift, but it was non-other than Thomas Wolcott with his fancy car.
"There is a traffic jam " Thomas said.
"I detected that"
"It was too crowded it took a while for me to get out"
"I hope you have a safe trip"
"It's hard to find a taxi, let me give you a ride home"
"No, thank you sir "
"Excuse me?" Thomas said surprised.
"You don't have to"
"Are you sure?" Thomas asked again.
"Sir with all due respect it's my business "
"What would happen if I give you a ride home?" Thomas asked, growing irritated at her stubbornness.
"I don't want to, but either way I prefer walking" Alexandra said simply.
"Do whatever you want" Thomas said and drove away
'Is she showing off his car?' thought Alexa
-Time skip-
Alex was close to her neighborhood when her phone rang.
"Hello?"
"H-hello Miss FaucetteI -I am Joshua Fry Mr. Wolcott's driver w-we crashed I- I swear it was an a-a accident-"
Alex was shocked, "in which hospital are you?" Alex asked.
"We-we a-are at xxxxxxxx"
"Alright, I am no my way stay calm ok? Bye"
She stopped a cab quickly and headed to the hospital

~Time Skip~
When Alex got there she found Joshua sitting and on the verge of tears.
"Miss Faucette, Mr. Wolcottis this r-room the doc-doctor said we can't go inside now"
Alex went to the window to look at her employer.
Then Joshua after he calmed down a little, said, "Miss Faucette I-I swear to God th-that I was driving l-like a-always u-until a little boy r-ran on the road I had no choice b-but to t-turn the car and we h-hit the light pole I-I was fine b-because the b-back seat of the car hit the l-lamppost where Mr. Wolcott was seated and I was in the front seat and-and I swear it was an accident"
"Ok, ok calm down breath I know you would never hurt him it was only an accident ok so please don't cry" said Alex with a soothing voice.
"Thank you"
"Did you tell his son?"
"Y-yes I did he said he is on his way"
[in the Faucette house]
"She's late" George said.
"Maybe she is overworking again that girl never knows when to take a break" Martha said.
"But she is even later than her usual late" said George worried
And as soon as he said that his phone rang
"Speak of the devil" George said, answering immediately.
"Hello dad"
George quickly attacked her with questions
"are you ok? where are you? what happa-"
"Dad I am fine don't worry I know I am later than usual lateness but my boss got into an accident I will be home late sorry for worrying you"
"It's ok sweetie but be careful ok? Give him my regards and be home soon"
"I will. bye dad"
"Bye"
"So?" Martha asked.
"Her boss got into a car crash"
"I hope he is ok"
"Me too, you go to sleep I will wait for her"
"Ok good night dear "
"Good night"
[ in the hospital]
Alex and Joshua were waiting
When Thomas arrived, Alex stood up to explain what had happened and what had happened to his father, but Thomas prevented her and said,
"I know about my father's condition the doctors informed me," he said to Alexandra, turning to Joshua and asked, "You made the accident?"
Joshua nodded slightly and responded, "Y-yes sir I am deeply sorry"
"Either I nor my father need your apology, you made the accident, therefore, you should take a punishment"
"P-punishment?!?"
"Sir it's written how the accident was made by the police, it means that it's up to your father to punish him or not," Alex said with a mildly angry voice.
"Don't involve yourself Miss Faucette I am only firing him that's all" Thomas said and went off to see his dad through the glass.
~time skip~
'Finally, home sweet home' said Alexandra in her head when she opened the door to the house she saw her father sleeping on the couch, she felt guilty for causing her father to worry and, waiting for her to come home, but she couldn't help but feel happy that her father cared so much for her.
"Dad dad" whispered Alexandra.
"Wha-oh Alexa you 're home"
"Yeah I am home sorry for worrying you"
"It's ok lexa "
"And dad you really didn't have to wait for me"
"Stop talking nonsense come on let's go to bed"
They started heading up the stairs George was going to the washroom
A little time passed
When George was done, he went knocking on Alexandra's door room, when he heard a "come in" from Alexandra in the other side of the room, George opened the door and went inside
"Is there something you need dad?" asked Alexa
"Good night" said George, looking at his daughter and kissing her forehead.
"Good night Dad" said Alexandra smiling back When George was about to leave her room, "Dad" said Alex and went to hug him, "I love your dad"
"I love you too daughter" and went to his and Martha's room.
Before Alexa fell asleep she did some work and wrote notes for tomorrow's meeting a while after she put her laptop away and looked at a photo on her nightstand she hugged the framed photo tightly it was a picture of her father, her mother, and herself in a park when she was 10, the picture was taken a while before her mother #@$%
"I miss you mum," whispered Alexa and went to sleep remembering the song her mother used to sing for her before she went to sleep when she was a kid

"Come on Lexy you have to sleep you have school tomorrow" said a woman
