Chapter 8 - Time to Shop!

Garrett was walking through the dungeon room by room to check for survivors and for supplies he could use. He didn't find much useful maybe a granola bar or two with a bottle of water. But what had most of his attention right now was his shop menu.

He was picking out a weapon when he noticed something interesting.

etc.

He was in shock at this as he was contemplating on who to summon that would fit into this world. He was looking at the isekai dungeon summons but figured he should ease up on that until he can find his own base for summoning fantasy characters into and ease them into the modern world.

For the others though... Final fantasy, once again would be an adjustment period, as much as he would love to have Tifa here, or heck even Barret to aid him. But he needed to ensure he could summon more than one character at a time to make sure he could explain it all to them at once and make sure they could work together.

Not only that.

Garrett was on his knees in despair.

They cost somewhere between 2,000,000 for a character like Saeko Busujima from High school of the dead, to 150,000,000 for someone like Cloud strife! How the hell could he ever afford those?!

He was crying a bit as he calculated the killing spree of zombie hordes he would need to survive to get just one person from another world here as a companion. Then he realized something.

If he wanted to summon them... he would need to be able to keep up with them... That means the prices are like this so he couldn't use them as sponges for points by sicking them on entire armies of zombies for the points to continue to relax behind them! Dang this system is smart.

He needed to save up, but first he needed to survive. And get those stat points together to be able to earn such people to be by his side as companions.

He was stuck on who he should focus on summoning.

Tifa Lockheart? Powerful martial artist and could help out a lot with her materia mastery. But she costs 80 million.

Hinata Hyuga from Naruto Shippuden? Good choice as well, she is a healer and a powerful fighter once she is motivated. But she costs 70 million

Final candidate to save up for is Tiona Hiryute. A powerful amazoness adventurer from Danmachi. She costs 75 million but has great combat arts and a powerful weapon that could mow down the zombies like grass.

Garrett shakes his head as he went to the weapons tab and came back down to the second floor to scavenge for more supplies. He would get there but first to arm himself properly. His knife had broken and his baton was cracked. His machete is the best shape but it already has nicks and chips from cutting through so many bones and skulls on his way to the boss.

He saw his targets, an Iron knife and an Iron sword. Basic but their durability will help him and his squad in the long run. Besides once he reaches 50+ in all stats he should be able to get the next level gear from these.

He buys them for the 3,000 they are combined and equips them. The iron knife and sword are perfectly balanced and well made from what he could see. And he used his power on a swing and cut through a metal bed frame. Looking over the sword carefully he didn't see any chips or nicks. He grins at how this will tip the scales in the humans favors for a time.

But he knew he needed to make sure he could keep up with using it. He bought 30 stat gems broken up across all his stats evenly.

He felt the power rush through him as all stats went up by 6. He clenched his hands around the hilt of the sword and swung again, this time to enjoy a nice strength gust of wind escape the sword. He grins at this and sheathes it.

He is about to close the tabs for the shop when he saw something catch his eye.

General fantasy race summons.

He opens it to see a list of fantasy races that are of the players choice of technology know how and skills.

Such as old school medieval orc fighter with basic iron armor and weapons. 10,000 points

Versus.

Modern day female orc fighter with hand to hand combat training, swat team skills, and skill with pistol and rifle combos. Costs 100,000 points.

These were way more affordable compared to the anime girls and guys he was eyeing! And they would be much more reachable. And according to the notes their stats average out to be his own minus or plus racial modifiers. So they would be close to him.

With a smile on his face he checks other races and the lowest he sees is a female goblin scout with leather armor and a copper dagger at 5,000 points.

He hums as he sees dragons are on the menu for just around 1 million. Things to consider for survival in this world going forward.

With these possibilities in mind Garrett heads out of the dungeon after checking the lobby floor and finding a duffel bag that has a pair of shoes and a runners cap.

He shrugs and figures a survivor at City Hall would find a use for it, and rushes out to join his squad and tell them the good news about the shops items and their strength, and to see what he should focus on saving up for in the future for companions.
