I'm fine. I'm not.

Alex's POV

Since the day Ken bid his final goodbyes, I've refrained from isolating myself in my room. Instead, I've dedicated myself to caring for Mom's garden, a responsibility that has solely fallen on the shoulders of our helper since her departure. Plants evoke memories of Mom's betrayal of Dad, a past I'd rather not dwell on. Despite my efforts to distance myself from her actions, it seems I've inherited more from her than I'd care to admit. Regrettably, I've also strayed from the path of honesty and loyalty, betraying Miyah.

In the midst of tending to the greenery, I felt an unexpected impact against my back—it was Miyah.

Miyah?

I didn't know what to say, but she rushed towards me and slapped me.

Did you know already?

"I hate you, Alex! I hate you," she kept saying repeatedly while crying in front of me. Not a single word came out of my mouth. I had no right to explain. "I hate you for lying to me!" Another slap landed on my left cheek.
