Alix's blinked a few times, feeling almost idiotic that he didn't have an answer for Henry's question right away.
"What's it like to be a noble from birth?"
The words rolled around in Alix's mind as he stared at the man in front of him.
Suddenly, every moment in his life where he complained to his parents that something wasn't enough was coming to the surface. He remembered thinking birthday presents weren't enough. In his life he had girlfriends and when introducing them to his parents, he remembered being slightly ashamed at certain aspects of the manor he grew up in.
Perhaps that was why Henry was a better man than he. In the face of adversity, Henry kept going forward. There was no ceiling to Henry's greatness because he had already pushed through what many deemed to be impossible circumstances to escape.
