The revelation of her ugly face

Her ears were ringing with her rapid heartbeats as she watched the royals sitting down elegantly, the table before they were set with delicious food items and some served already.

Yi Hua squinted her eyes to see clearly through the white veil she had asked Lin Yi to cover her, in case she had to explain why she had her veil on- reason, her make-up which indicated her sudden sickness.

Clearing her throat she walks upright, with confidence unless the fear corrupts her in all of their presence, her gaze goes more confused and puzzled as she spots a man just opposite to the king on the latter end of the table.

The dress, was so different from how the human, and the others were dressed, she looked around and found a few more men with different dress-ups and decoded them to be the demons.

Not that their clothing was all so different but just their clothing color was dark and not light which would signify the human's preference of copying nature's peacefulness into their activities, even in their dressing.

His back was broad and he seemed quite fit for someone she imagined to be an old hunky demon who lived for longer than she can imagine, that is if the demons do really live for thousands, to be precise she was startled with the thought of the demon being just as young as she was.

"Your Highness, you can give Yang Yang to me now." Lin Yi says as they take stairs to reach up were all were, Yi Hua comes out of her trance and she looks down to find Lu Yang Yang staring up at her.

"Don't be scared… I will protect you with all my might." Lu Yang Yang says, Yi Hua chuckles, she takes in a deep breath and hands him to Lin Yi, though not comfortable with having a wolf in her hold, Lin Yi gasps, chuckling at how obediently and calmly he stayed with her.

There was no need for her to be scared and freak out, now does she?

"Oh, she is here." The king speaks, chuckling as he watches Yi Hua but when his eyes notice a veil covering her up, he frowns, chuckling awkwardly as he looks at the demon king who was watching Yi Hua with a blank face.

Just so excited to officially meet the one who has been taking his nights away.

Yi Hua bows her head down and elegantly walks beside her mother who holds an empty space, she sits down, not daring to meet the gaze of the people.

Yi Hua notices, all the family, the royal family with all the wives and her brothers and sister sitting there, she was really bewildered having everyone there and seeing her making fun of herself.

"Are you okay?" Hu Ying asks, caressing Yi Hua's back and taking her out of her thoughts where she had already gone long enough to humiliate herself with what she has been thinking off.

"Yes, Ma. I am all good." Yi Hua mutters back, "What's with the sudden veil? You know you can't keep hiding your face." Hu Ying mutters.

Not aware of all the eyes being on them.

The king clears his throat, catching the attention of everyone, including the mother-daughter duo, "So… why with the veil?" Shi Lian asks, with a little suspicious tone.

The King, Yi Yongxi, being the head of the family senses the trouble and clears his throat again, "Hua, take your veil off. And let your fiance acknowledge you." The king says, the demon king smirks, finding her more interesting.

'Just the way you pull me more.' He thinks to himself, chuckling which caught Yi Yongxi's attention he decided to act like he didn't see but his blood boils thinking the demon just mocked him.

"Remove that now." He orders, sensing Yi Hua being ignorant of his words, "Dad, I cannot… I got a problem." Yi Hua says, acting sad and very sorry which made the others wonder, even the demon himself.

'What is she up to?' Luo Yan questions himself, he tilts his head and gets impatient to see her, off that veil, he misses her face, even if he sneaked in at night for just a peek, he still did.

It's not love, just infatuation and interest.

That's what he believed, how could he love? He never believed he had a heart to love, it died a long way back and he barely remembers why? Because he didn't want to.

With no words to describe his attraction to this petite normal looking human girl that had brought him to break his own promise and commitment? Here he was before the humans, him wanting to make her his to the point of willing to get married.

"No worries, dear. Let me see you." Luo Yan comments, that everyone is surprised with the way the demon who stayed silently with a blank face even when all tried to make up a conversation, willingly speaks.

Such a surprise, he has such a hoarse yet alluring voice.

Was that a demon thing? Or was he a natural?

Shi Lian nudges Tao Tao to do something knowing Yi Hua was grabbing all the attention, mostly all of his attention to herself, Tao Tao scared goes stiff having no idea what she should do.

"How can she show herself? With such a horrible face! She doesn't even deserve to be here!" Tao Tao bursts out loud, Shi Lian stiffens, that went just too much.

Tao Tao widens her eyes, shocked at what she just blurted, even though she did believe each of her words, this wasn't a place to speak her thoughts out. Not even when she is in front of the king, her dad.

Yi Hua chuckles inside the veil, enjoying the commotion.

"How dare you say that to your own sister?!" Yi Yongxi snaps, growing embarrassed because of them speaking badly about their own family in front of the outsiders.

"Dad… she is right. As of now, I am not in the state to show myself." Yi Hua adds, speaking in a low and soft tone, Tao Tao widens her eyes, surprised, "What are you saying?"

Hu Ying asks, tilting her head and wanting to check her properly, "I will let you all see for yourself." Yi Hua says, raising her hand slowly and inching towards the edge of the veil.

Smirking, she slowly composes herself and takes off the veil, the cup little Cao was holding falls down, and everyone gasps in horror watching Yi Hua in the state she had created herself.

'What the fuck is wrong with this woman?' Luo Yan questions himself, watching Yi Hua in shock, this girl never failed to surprise him and he loved every bit of that thrill.
