Chapter 26 : A Concerning News

The sun rose early in the morning as usual, and Wang Qian woke up early like the sun as usual. But what was different is that Bai Lian, who only wakes up after Wang Qian was already up before him. When he saw that Bai Lian was looking at him right after he woke up, he thought that he snored last night, causing the girl to not sleep well. But the girl denied it and said that it was because she faintly heard the sounds of a crowd talking outside. Hearing what she said, he immediately start to have a bad omen

'It can't be right? If it is really them, how did they even know we are here?' Wang Qian suddenly find himself with a headache again after thinking that it might be their fans who were surrounding the building. He got off the bed and Bai Lian followed him too. He then lift up the curtains a little to look what was happening outside, while she tip toed to see what was happening too. 

"It really is them, why did it have to be the first thing I meet early in the morning?" Wang Qian complained as he suddenly didn't want to got out anymore.

"I'll go shower first" Bai Lian said after seeing him massaging his temples again.

After a while, he gave up on the thought of not going out because he remembered the promise he made with Bai Lian of learning magic. So, he sat down on the bed as he summoned out his status

Wang Qian wanted to see what kind of accessories was sold by the system, but the message he got was insufficient level. So he also leave it for now. By the time he finished reading everything, Bai Lian already got out and it was his turn to take a bath. He grabbed the towel he used yesterday, and entered the bathroom.

Currently, Wang Qian and Bai Lian are eating at the restaurant that was at the first floor of the inn. They were wearing the cloaks as they ordered for the same thing they had at their previous inn, but the food here was many times better, probably due to the skill of the chef. After that they paid a total 4 copper quins at the counter before going to the library.

On the way to the library, they saw many kinds of desserts that were sold on the street, just like the roadside stall where they bought the ice cream looking dessert. Before they realized, they already reached the entrance of the city's library. They entered the library as the held hands with each other, and was greeted by the magnificent view of book all over the 3 floors. There wasn't much people who come here everyday so it was very quiet to the point that one might hear the sounds of a needle dropping onto the ground. 

They then walked to the counter and asked the librarian who was reading a newspaper.

"Can I know where to find books on how to learn magic?" Wang Qian asked softly.

The librarian was a little lazy and just pointed towards somewhere at the second floor. The center on each floor was emptied out so it was easy to see which section the librarian was pointing. They then walked up the stairs before arriving the said section. Wang Qian and Bai Lian then started looking for the books they needed, which was on how to learn magic. Surprisingly, there was multiple books on how to learn magic written by different mages across the kingdom.

They then picked a few before looking for a table and sat down and started reading together. The first book was written by the genius mage that appeared 60 years ago. It was said that this book was written by him as he didn't want to be forgotten by the people. It was a little too profound for them to understand so they closed it up and opened the second book. This one was written by a famous mage across the continent that appeared around a century ago. It was said that he wrote two books about his understanding of magic, one which talks about the basic of magic while the other starts to talk about the law and way to create a new spell for a certain magic. It was understandable at first, but the more they read, the more they got confused. So they also decided close up this book.

The last one was the most famous of them all. It was written by the first mage that appeared on this world. The book didn't contain profound laws or any other complicated stuff. It only contains the way to use a certain magic and the basic spell for it. They decided to pick this book and headed down to the first floor and asked the librarian if they could borrow it and bring it back home. The librarian didn't even gave them a look before handing them a list.

The listen consists of the names and jobs of different people. It also has the name and date of the book and when it was borrowed. Wang Qian wrote his information on the list and left with Bai Lian while holding hands with each other.

When they got out, they saw a huge crowd outside. This time, it wasn't their fans, It was due to a soldier who was clad in golden armor.

'A SOLDIER FROM THE ROYAL PALACE!!' Wang Qian unknowingly used his [ MAGIC PRESUURE ] and targeted only the soldier. The next second, the soldier suddenly felt a cold on his back as an enormous pressure landed on his shoulder, but it quickly disappeared before the soldier can think of it. 

'What happened just now?' the soldier thought

Despite so, he continued to do his task given by his superiors.

"LISTEN OVER HERE, CITIZEN OF THE SNOWING GARDEN. THE DEMON LORD HAS BROKE FREE FROM THE SEAL THE MAGES PLACED ON HIM AND HAS NOW STARTED TO KILL THE INNOCENTS. HE HAS LAID HIS HANDS ON THE VILLAGE OF THE GODDESS'S HOME. HE ALSO ABDUCTED A GIRL AND ESCAPED TO THE FOREST. WE SUSPECT HE MIGHT ATTACK THIS CITY NEXT, SO PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WHEN YOU EXIT THE CITY. AND FOR THOSE WHO HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEMON LORD, PLEASE COME TO THE CITY LORD'S MANSION AND REPORT IT TO THE GUARDS THERE. YOU WILL BE REWARDED HANDSOMELY IF YOU CAN PROVIDE EVEN THE SMALLEST CLUE TO US. THAT'S ALL" 

After listening to what the soldier said, Wang Qian gritted his teeth in anger. Seeing him like this, Bai Lian pulled on his sleeve. Feeling the pull on his sleeve, only did he saw Bai Lian who was looking at him with a face of worry. He then took a deep breath and said to her

"Don't worry, I'm okay now. Let's go back to the inn first."

"Okay" she replied. 

They then walked back to the inn while holding hands. But despite saying that to her, Wang Qian was subconsciously thinking of ways to kill the soldier just now.....
