Chapter 22 - Pardon?

Friday morning came and Shou arrived at Yumiko's office front door, just in time.

"Shou arrived just in time ma'am, just like you asked him to," Toda replied as he opened the door for Shou to come in.

"You're quite obedient up until now, Shou. Although people sometimes get cocky once they get at least, acquainted with people with higher status."

"N-no, not at all ma'am, why should I do that? Just being part of a large yakuza group is already a large feat for me." 'And besides, you're someone that shouldn't be meddled with.' Shou thought to himself.

"You have a point. I think you'll become a promising member of the Mishiki clan one day."

"I don't deserve such praise from Mishiki-oyabun I only did what any respectful person would do."

Yumiko let out a smirk from his response; "You're good with words aren't you."

"T-that's not true, It's not like that ma'am."

"I know, I was just messing with you."

'Mishiki-oyabun has been having fun playing around with the newcomer lately.' Toda thought to himself.

"Anyway, I haven't told you the reason why I called you here didn't I?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Well, I asked you to come to my office is because I was to have a spar with you."

"Pardon?"

"I said I want to have a sparring match with you and I don't want you to hold back, I want you to go all out as if your life depended on it."

"... Yes, ma'am."

"Well then, let's go to the training hall, We don't want to make a mess here."

Shou followed Yumiko to the large training hall where there are serval amounts of members using the training hall.

Yumiko yelled at everyone to leave the training hall as they were going to use it, and immediately everyone did what she told them to do.

Shou focused his attention on the members who were leaving the hall and asked.

"You don't want other people to see the results of the spar?"

"If I did let them they would think I'm giving you special treatment and probably target you or get jealous and start a riot or they would think I've gotten weak and all that."

"You have a point."

"Then, We'll start...NOW!"

"Wha-"

In a blink of an eye, Yumiko threw a haymaker from her right. Shou evades it but she expected this and hurled an uppercut, this time from her left aimed at his side.

'Shit! She's fast!'

Shou instinctively turned on his axis, slightly bent his knees, and countered her while pushing forward his knees with a right hook.

"Too easy! Shou!"

Yumiko took one step backward, eluding his hook but Shou reeled backward, half-crouched. In a moment, charged, mutating his hook to a jab.

Yumiko managed to quickly break his jab by catching his attack and pulling him by the arm, spinning him around, and pushing him off on the opposite end with his own strength.

Shou stumbled on the floor with his front body but quickly got up and tried to counterattack her with basic attacks, both of them going back and forth. Shou tries to hit her again with a jab but caught him by the arm again and threw him overhead.

"Didn't I tell you to go all out on me? Because I'm pretty sure you're used to using your legs, or am I mistaken?"

"No, You're somewhat right. I'm more used to resorting to both techniques."

"Interesting."

Immediately Shou threw a roundhouse kick from the right, Yumiko evaded it but Shou mutated it to a hook kick to her ribs followed by a stepping side kick to her abdomen.

"Gah! Not bad but, You should've retracted your leg quicker!"

Yumiko grabbed onto his leg and broke his balance by throwing him to the side from his leg.

Shou counters by sweeping off her legs. She fell to the padded floor. She retaliates by pushing down his head and restraining his arm to his back.

"You're quite good, You managed to land a hit on me."

"Unlike me, you parried all of my attacks."

"Correct, Which means you still need more training but I don't mind teaching you myself some time and don't even think of refusing, I'm already giving you a lot since you gave us assets beforehand, so I'm just returning the favor I owe you, for all that money you managed to bring home and the spectacular show you gave us too."

'And I'm interested in your growth and that cunning personality of yours.' Yumiko thought to herself.

"Wait, you mean? That time?"

"Yeah, I meant that time where I assigned the sixth division with the third division to that commission I requested personally. If it weren't for you and the sixth division, who knows what would've happened."

"Well... I'm speechless but Thank you very much, Mishiki-oyabun, I'll do my very best!"

"Well said kid."

"That is all for today. Every day if you have spare time, you can always come to me for training, got it?"

"Yes ma'am." 'Is that it? I thought she brought me here to discuss about the escort assignment.'

"Oh, and I'll tell your seniors in the sixth division to be prepared to be called out by me for an assignment, I'll tell you guys all about it when we have a request from Daisuke."

"Y-yes ma'am!"

"You are dismissed."

Shou proceeded to tell the sixth division members about an incoming assignment, just as she told him to.

"Hey, Kid." Said Raiden.

"Hm?"

"I'm going to accompany Ryota for buying his equipment since he's so hopeless about buying equipment that I'm afraid that he'll get easily scammed."

"HEY!"

"Oh shut up."

"So that's why I'm telling you this is because I want you to stay here with Yuichi and look after this place in case we're ever needed by Mishiki-Oyabun, Also Yuichi is own his way back sooner or later."

"What about Eiko and Hotaru?"

"They're Shopping as well..."

"I see."

"Yeah, That's why I'm counting on you two."

"Ah, Take care then Captain!"

"Yeah, Yeah," Raiden waves his hand without looking back as he leaves the room."

"Guess I'll have to wait for Yuichi to come back."
