Three Destinations

The following morning, No. 12 seemed to have been severely exhausted, evident by the dark outline under her eyes. She had been running throughout the entire kingdom trying to capture Gwen's clone but since she couldn't use anything too powerful in fear of harming her, she could only slowly whittle down Gwen's mana reserves and capture her at the end. Unfortunately for her, just when Gwen's clone was about to run out of mana, she pulled a fast one on No. 12 using the other clone's reserves to power herself up and run away once more. No. 12 was extremely mad at how sly Gwen was, having her own plan backfire on her so severely. At the end, Gwen disappeared out of nowhere and when No. 12 came back, she saw the real Gwen sleeping on her bed.

Gwen's trickery made No. 12 question her capability as an Archmage severely. She got played around by a kid less than a tenth her age but when she recalled that Gwen had Aria blood in her she didn't seem that much bothered anymore.

"I was thinking, for today, we could go to the Fairy Garden, after that I can show you around the Jiana Academy, then we can go shopping in the Commercial District. How does that sound?"

Gwen was still consuming ludicrous amounts of food as she listened to Felix, "Sounds good but we can skip the last part."

"You know, girls usually want to skip to the last part," Felix said with a slight smile, contrasting Gwen's behavior to be completely different from any other noble lady her age.

"Well, are there any Artifacts? Grimoires? Magical Embers? Heck, I'll even go if there's a map for a hidden treasure at this point."

"No… but that's beside the point. I fear for your future prospects, Gwen." Felix sighed as he crossed in arms, feigning disappointment.

"Well, you're stuck with me, so that's a you problem honestly. No. 12, gimme more!" Gwen picked up her plate and gave it to No. 12 who was still extremely tired from last night's hunt.

"Yes… Lady Gwendolyn…" Compared to Gwen's energetic voice, No. 12 sounded like a dead zombie who just awakened from its grave. She moved extremely lethargically yet still pushed on forward.

"It wouldn't hurt to act more ladylike, you know? How about wearing a dress today?"

"Mmm… I'll think about it. Woah, that looks good! As always, I can count on you, No. 12!" Gwen took the plate filled with food from No. 12's shaky hands and continued eating.

"You know, Gwen. If you eat this much, you'll get fat." Seeing the amount of food that Gwen was consuming he tried to warn her.

"Heh… Hahaha! That's a good one. No. 12, tell him." Gwen kept on stuffing her face to the brim with food.

No. 12 sighed, "Lady Gwendolyn's physique is unique since she requires an immense amount of energy to stop The Corruption from affecting her. Although…" No. 12 jealously glared at Gwen happily chomping away. "She could just compensate the energy deficit with mana…"

Felix finished his breakfast and leaned back, trying to digest everything, "Then why don't you, Gwen?"

"You seriously can't tell? Felix, I'm worried for you now. Maybe I hit you a little too hard last night." Gwen pointed at the large stack of food on her plate and continued eating.

"Last night…?" No. 12's slow and weary mind seemed to have started to notice something.

Gwen was about to take another bite, "Uh oh. Anyways, a dress? Yeah, uh… Felix let's go, you pick one out for me. Haha, okay, see you later, No. 12! Take the rest of the day off! Felix! Let's. Go." Gwen's tone at the end was unthreateningly threatening.

Gwen immediately ran out trying to escape before No. 12 takes action. Felix laughed out once more before ordering one of his maids to help dress Gwen up.

"Young master, your father told me that there's a sudden festival-"

As soon as Felix heard it was from his father, he immediately tuned it out. He was going to stick with his plans for today and there was nothing that was going to change it. Unless Gwen seriously wanted to change his plans, what was planned was what was going to happen.

After a brief moment of Gwen nearly breaking her word, she finished dressing up. She wore a common cloth dress that commoners usually wore with one small detail, except for the bland brown color, it was instead changed to black. This dress made her seem slightly more important yet compared to what other noble children wore, it was completely lacking.

Gwen appreciated how easy it was to move in, she could run around without a care in the world and her movements wouldn't be restricted in any way shape, or form. Felix also wore the same clothing that commoners wore without any modification, he was satisfied with this as he started to lead Gwen outside the mansion.

"Where are we going first, again? I wasn't listening, hehe." Gwen scratched the back of her head in embarrassment knowing that this wasn't something that she would usually forget.

Felix somewhat expected Gwen to act like this, "We're first going to the Fairy Garden, it's being catered to by the royal family but anyone can go visit it. The only rule is to enjoy the scenery."

"Oh, a garden? That sounds nice. What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Gwen grabbed Felix's arm as she immediately ran outside, ignoring Felix's reactions as she ran forward.

"Wait! You don't even know where it is!" Felix was getting dragged along by Gwen since he didn't actively escape her grasp yet for a Tier 5 Swordsman to be led around by a Tier 2 Mage was a shameful display. Good thing that no one else knew this other than him and Gwen.

"I'll figure it out later. Don't worry about it! Also, stop dragging your feet!"

"Ugh." Felix gave up. Running and exploring the kingdom randomly isn't so bad either.
