I reincarnated as Mordred.

Alex had grown up as a boring person until the age of 30. His only activities were reading anime and manga at home. But suddenly, when he died, he found himself in an infinite void. After a while, Alex heard a voice calling out to him. "Mortal, you will go to the Fate universe. You will be reincarnated as Mordred. All you need to do is to surprise me." Hearing what the voice said, Alex accepted without hesitation. "Okay, I accept." With Alex's acceptance, a panel opened in front of him. Alex chose his appearance and gender, then confirmed his choices. Alex's soul glowed and illuminated the darkness. After that, he was reincarnated into the Fate universe. ______________ Mordred will neither be a good nor a bad person. There won't be a harem or romance. I'm not familiar with the Fate scenario, so I will proceed by making many references to the King Arthur mythology. Mordred was born after the victory at the Battle of Agned River in the Arthurian mythology.

Chapter 1

I opened my eyes. The first thing I did was look around. I found myself in bed, covered with a high-quality blanket.

"This blanket is high-quality, even for the modern world." I played with the blanket and marveled at its quality. Undoubtedly, it was a high-quality blanket.

"Well, now I should look around." I got out of bed, lifting my small but agile body. I left the bed. I scanned the room with my eyes.

It was a dark room that could disturb even an adult's psychology. There was only a bed and a table. For a moment, I felt sorry for Mordred. Morgan truly doesn't care about Mordred.

"Never mind, it's not the time to feel sorry now. There's a new Mordred now." I clenched my fists and moved towards the door with a new determination.

"Let's see what's outside." I curiously opened the door. I started descending the stairs. I passed through dark places covered with spider webs, and finally, I came across a place that I thought could be the exit door.

I opened the door, and the sunlight hit my eyes. I quickly covered my eyes with my hand. "Damn, my eyes."

After a while, my eyes adjusted. Then, I saw a more beautiful and pleasant environment than the modern world. The chirping of birds only added to the epic atmosphere.

"Truly a beautiful environment." After appreciating the outside, I decided it was time to go. I started advancing through the forest.

After a short while, I reached a village. As soon as I arrived, an old man greeted me. "Where are you from, young man?"

I looked at the old man. "I'm looking for my mother, do you know where she is?"

"Oh, my child, you must be feeling helpless now. Don't worry; we'll find your mother." The old man sighed, seeming accustomed to such situations.

"What's your mother's name, son?" I furrowed my brows. I couldn't give Morgan's name. Being an ex-princess and a famous witch made her well-known in Albion.

"My mother's name is Elisa." Unable to mention Morgan's name, I invented a new one. The old man nodded. "As much as I want to help you find your mother, it's almost impossible in these times of war."

"Thank you for considering it, though. But when you mentioned war, what did you mean?" The old man hesitated, not wanting to say it because I seemed young, but his eyes betrayed him with a hint of tears.

There has been a war between King Arthur and the Saxons for a year. But this time, it's different. Vortigern has returned more powerful than ever. They say Vortigern is so powerful that he could defeat all the Round Table knights, including King Arthur himself. The old man spoke with a bit of fear.

Not wanting to press the old man further, I decided to leave. I have to go before Morgan catches me.

"Thank you, sir. But now I must leave." The old man nodded gently.

"Take care, my child. Bandits have started showing up again. Go home without wasting time." I followed the old man's advice.

Then, I headed back to the house. I arrived home shortly. I opened the door and entered.

"Now what should I do?" I lay down on the bed and looked thoughtfully at the ceiling.

"Maybe I should test my new power." I stood up excitedly.

"But there's nothing to test it on here." Maybe I should go outside. But Morgan might come. So, I need to be careful.

I opened the door and went downstairs. I walked to the door and opened it.

As soon as I opened the door, I collided with a figure. "Hey, watch out!"

I got up from the ground and dusted myself off. Without lifting my head, I heard a cold voice. "Mordred, I don't remember allowing you to leave the house."

Morgan's cold tone sent shivers down my spine. But courageously, I raised my head and looked into Morgan's cold blue eyes.

"I don't recall giving you permission to leave the house today." Morgan stated coldly.

For some reason, I felt anxious. After all, in my previous life, I could survive on just one meal a day.

These must be traits left from Mordred. Hopefully, it won't affect me too much.

"Go to your room. I'll bring your meal. Then, we'll start your lessons." I could only nod. I quickly returned to my room.

"Phew, I was really scared." I sat down and took a tense breath. "Anyway, I wonder how my lessons are going."

"Anyway, now I should attend the lesson." I pounded the ground in frustration for not being able to test my new power. I waited for Morgan to bring the meal.

Morgan opened the door and brought my meal. "Eat your meal."

I took the meal from Morgan. "Thank you, Morgan."

Morgan stared at me for a second. Probably, Mordred wouldn't thank anyone before I came.

After Morgan left, I looked at the meal. It was a simple soup and a hard piece of bread. I looked at the meal with disgust.

"This place really is like a prison." I swallowed. I took the bread, praying it wasn't moldy. Then, I dipped the bread into the soup to soften it a bit.

"My goodness, I hope I don't die." I ate the bread. It felt like there was a stone in my mouth.

"How did Mordred not die, I wonder!" I forced myself to swallow the bread.

After struggling to swallow the bread, I had to pray. "I don't know what would happen if I weren't biologically strong.

"The pain that doesn't kill me only makes me stronger." After consoling myself, I headed towards Morgan's lesson.

I went downstairs. I instinctively learned where the lesson room was. I quickly reached the door.

"Finally, you're here, take a seat." Morgan looked at me and said sternly.

"Today, you'll learn to use a sword, Mordred." I nodded and sat on the chair.

"Come in, Accolon." The door opened, and a white-haired knight walked in.

"Hello, Mordred. I'm here to teach you the sword." Accolon, like a prince, showed respect.

"Hello, Sir Accolon." I replied respectfully.

"If your introduction is over, now, Accolon, start teaching Mordred." Morgan warned Accolon with a cold tone.

Nevertheless, Sir Accolon bowed. I couldn't understand why Accolon liked Morgan. Morgan treated him badly, yet Accolon still loved her.

"Follow me, Mordred." I followed Accolon.

After a while, we went outside and reached a lake. Accolon threw a wooden sword he brought with him at me.

Instinctively, I caught the sword in the air. "What are you doing!?"

"I'm sorry, Mordred, but Morgan told me not to go easy on you." Accolon looked at me with sharp eyes.

"You know I'm still a child, right?" I stated clearly. Accolon looked at me with indifference.

I guess even children are not cared for in this world. *Sigh* Well, what are we going to do?

"Attack me, Mordred. I want to see your skills." Accolon stated calmly and planted his wooden sword on the ground.

I nodded and forced myself to remain calm. I lifted my wooden sword, looked at Accolon, and searched for weaknesses.

I thought about the moves I remembered from the manga. I raised my sword and started running towards Accolon.

At an unnatural speed, I charged at Accolon. Even I was surprised by my speed. I aimed my sword at Accolon's chest.

As I swung my sword, the air thundered around me. The sword flew towards Accolon in a way that worried me.

But my worries were unfounded. With a single move, Accolon avoided my attack.

I realized I could relax, and I started attacking Accolon consecutively. Accolon skillfully dodged each of my attacks.

Finally, Accolon made a sudden move, punched me in the stomach, and sent me flying backward.

A simple punch knocked me out.

Accolon's POV:

Mordred surprised me. He was stronger than I thought. Especially for someone who had lived for only 2 years, he seemed remarkably skilled. Almost like a master knight.

I admired Mordred for a while. After a while, I decided it was time to finish. Despite my stopping, Mordred went crazy and continued to attack me.

"Mordred, stop." Mordred had fallen into a warrior's spirit and didn't listen to me. Finally, I threw a punch to wake him up.

As Mordred attempted to make a sword strike from above, I simply punched him in the stomach.

Mordred, as expected, couldn't resist, and he fell to the ground. "Now listen to me, Mordred. A knight always keeps control and doesn't get carried away by pleasure."

Mordred, somewhat embarrassed, stood up. "I apologize, Sir Accolon."

"Consider this a lesson. Now, as a punishment, run 1000 laps around the entire forest." It was a severe but necessary punishment for a child like Mordred.

Mordred's POV:

I ran 1000 laps around the entire forest. Now it was evening. My whole body was drenched in sweat. On top of that, Accolon monitored me throughout the process.

"It's finally over!" With the last of my strength, I shouted and fell to the ground.

"You've made good progress, my child. Take a drink of water." I took the water from Accolon's hand and drank it eagerly. After drinking, thanks to my super endurance, I quickly recovered.

"Mordred, that's enough for today. Now go home." I bowed respectfully to Sir Accolon.

"Yes, Sir Accolon." Then, I went home. I entered the house. Morgan greeted me. "Mordred, go to bed. If I catch you awake, you won't even get one meal."

"Okay, Morgan." I half-heartedly listened to the Witch Lady. Then, I carried my tired body upstairs.

"Phew, I can finally rest." I closed my eyes. Then, I fell asleep.
