Vincent knew he had been giving off mixed signals. He was more curious why Maya sounded so exasperated when she said that.
"Do you want me to want you around or not?" he countered.
She glared at him and crossed her arms over her chest. "Answer the question, Vincent."
He was trapped. He couldn't lie to her but he didn't want to tell the truth either. He didn't know what she wanted. He was willing to bet that he thought of her more positively than she did of him and he couldn't blame her for it considering how he had acted.
"I do but I'm still getting used to having someone around," Vincent said quietly. "You said you would tell me what I needed to do to be nicer but never did. What do you want from me? Tell me and I'll make it happen."
