"He must be nuts," Ace said.
"We can't be sure about that," Lexus replied.
Their eyes were glued to the hollow circle, which showed Vince diving into the river. They couldn't see what was happening underwater, though, and could only wait for Vince to surface.
The Ice Lotus River was filled with natural magic, so its energy clashed with the magic used in the hollow circles, called Vision Spheres, preventing them from seeing underwater.
"Let's just wait and see. Maybe he found a way," Kayena said.
"He's living in the Captain's house, so she must have trained him. Maybe he can pass the test by some miracle," Ace said.
He turned to Lily and asked, "Do you know anything about him? Like, if he has a gift, for example?"
"He is a dormant with no gifts. There is nothing special about him."
Lexus grinned. "The fact that he was chosen by our captain guardian is already special."
