Chapter 2

In the strike of Dawn, A large group of people numbering up to a hundred people arrived at the entrance of the Academy. Zack who guided Alt to the dorm also guided the newcomers to the dorm and informed where their room is located. The dorm was bustling with people and noises came from all directions.

" Hmmm" Alt waked up due to the noise outside his door.

" Huh…Is it morning already? Alt muttered to himself.

Alt gets up on his bed and changed his clothes to the one that was given to him by Zack. The clothes that zack given to Alt were meant for training but something was different from his clothes, The back of his his clothes displays his families insignia and a number, three ( in Roman Numerals ) but Alt didn't care about it and headed downstairs. Heading downstairs, Alt could feel that many people were looking at him and gossiping about him.

" Is he really the third son of the Burnheart's patriarch?".

" Can he really not absorb any mana?".

Alt ignored the gossip about him and continued to leave the building.

Altair Burnheart is the third youngest son of the Burnheart's patriarch, Leon Burnheart. He was considered a genius like his two brothers but as time goes on they discovered that he can't absorb any mana and causing him to be called The Shame of the burnheart family. His father, leon tells him not to make his mana core as it is useless because he can't absorb mana.

Alt leaves the building and headed towards the academic building. Arriving at the entrance of the academic building, he meet a group of men that are wearing a Brigandine armor. Alt ignored them and entered the Academic building. Upon entering the academic building, he was greeted by Zack.

" Si-sir Alt, Why are you here?" Asked by Zack.

" To learn something of course!" Alt answered with a confused expression.

" Huh?.. Nevermind.. I was coming to get you because the head principal of Arcus is calling for you!" Said by Zack

" Lead the way" said by Alt.

Zack guided Alt to the head principal's office.

" Unfortunately, I cannot go with you in the principal's office" said by Zack.

Alt thanked him and entered the principal's office. Upon entering the office, he was greeted by the head principal, Gerald. Alt sat on the chair facing Gerald.

" Sir Alt, Are you aware of your situation?" said by Gerald

" What situation?" said by Alt

" It's seems you are not informed about your situation and how we do things in this academy, so I will explain it to you" said Gerald.

In the Academy 'Arcus', we teach the new students about the basics of swordsmanship and magic on the first and second day of the opening ceremony of the academy in accepting new students but the opening ceremony already happened three days ago. Upon the third day, the new students are instructed to go in an island near the academy, if course they are not alone each students were assigned a hundred soldiers equipped with a brigandine armor and blunt weapons. In the Mountains students must survive for 8 years.

" Sir Alt, you must depart today… the soldiers that was assigned to you are waiting in the armory. The other student who came today will departing tomorrow" said by Gerald

" Hmm.. Okay" Said by Alt as he leaves the principal's office and headed to the armory.

Upon entering the armory, the soldiers looked at him but after a second , they all continued what they were doing earlier. Alt ignored the soldiers and headed to where the weapons and armor was located. Alt picks a set of brigandine armor that the soldiers were wearing and wore it. After Alt finished wearing the brigandine armor, he picks up a blunt sword and puts it in his sword belt that he found when he was picking his armor. Alt then sat in a lotus position at the corner. Alt looked at the soldiers looking at him but he closed his eyes and focused on his core and an unknown energy begun to flow into his core. Alt's core that was pure white was now turning into a golden color due to the unknown energy that Alt absorbed. The unknown energy that Alt absorbed were called ' Ki ' and it is stronger than mana. After a while, Alt finished meditating and slowly stands up.

" Aahh…That's right, I was supposed to go fetch this guys and head to the mountains" said by Alt.

Alt then walks to the middle where they were resting and handed a letter to a soldier. The soldier that was given the letter reads the message that was written in the letter. The Soldier who finished reading the letter quickly stands up and saluted him.

" Sq-Squad leader, Altair!!" the soldier shouted.

The other soldier was shocked at first but soon followed what the first soldier has done.

"Squad Leader!!" the soldiers shouted at the same time.

" Enough with that…just follow me" Alt ordered.j

Alt then leaves the armory and headed towards the entrance of the academy while the soldiers quietly followed him. Arriving there, Alt saw Zack waiting at the entrance.

"Huh?...Zack what are you doing here?" Alt questioned.

" To transport you to the mountain, Pine" Zack answered.

" How?" Alt questions Zack with a confused expression.

" The entrance of the academy is also a gate portal to the Pine Mountain" said by Zack as he puts a key in the keyhole and turned it clockwise.

The entrance of the academy began to glow and a blue light covers the whole entrance of the academy.

" You can now go" Zack ordered.

Alt entered the portal following him were the soldiers.

Brigandine Armor

- A form of body armour from the Middle Ages. It is a garment typically made of heavy cloth, canvas, or leather, lined internally with small oblong steel plates riveted to the fabric, sometimes with a second layer of fabric on the inside.

Belt sword

- The reason the mc used ki because he can't absorb any mana into his body is a disease called Mana blockade. Mana blockade is a rare disease and only appeared every 100 decades.

- Making a mana core and absorbing mana is different. Making a core means letting it flow into your body except for the veins in you're body and condensed it into the heart. Absorbing mana means not letting it flow into your body but letting flow through you're veins only.

- I don't know how mana and ki works!!.
