kenji, a psychology student, never believed in existence of god. For him, Gods were merely ideas created by high society in past to keep commoners under their thumb. On one fateful day, his entire class was summoned to kingdom of Grumania. It was a kingdom corrupted by wrongful teachings by upper class about the Gods, something he hated. But during the summoning, he got held back by the real Gods who want him to correct the wrongs of this new fantasy world and gave him unimaginable power to do so.

Twin Vortex

I was on my way back to the palace in the kingdom of Commieku. The kingdom where the ascendants resided. I had to report things to his majesty and others but before that I decided to check up on Layla and my classmates... well, I wanted to check up on Kristine.

I snuck into the kingdom of Grumania and saw the streets were filled with people... too many people. I flew up to the palace and upon entering, I heard wailing. I peeked in and saw a coffin with some people crying and others on the side silent. Did someone die? Well considering the entire nation was outside, I expect the king to have died. He was old and weak anyways so not something you wouldn't expect. I didn't notice Kristine anywhere and I left the palace going to the rooftop and called upon Layla who appeared in front of me.

"Any important information?" I asked.

"Kristine somehow managed to win against earth dragon." She informed.

"What?" I was shocked because even if earth dragon was barely stronger than your usual dragons, still it is still too strong for her. "Did someone help her?"

"A woman named Feishu. She is quite a warrior. I would say she could go toe to toe with many enemies including Ace from the ascendants."

"Someone strong enough to fight him must be interesting. Wait- why was she there in the first place?"

"She is on the journey to find the truth. She is following your footsteps but differently."

"I see." I sighed. "Let her be." I said before hearing someone scream on the street and then people started running away causing a massive commotion. I looked down and saw people running away from something.

"A monster...? Wait! It is a knight I saw in the assembly. Why is it here?" I was shocked to be honest and it was level 84 too.  Most people had left the area so I could fight it without trouble.

As I was about to jump down, I saw my classmates come out of the palace with weapons ready to fight it.

Apart from high level, it had access to water magic and it's attack was slightly over 7.5K. They simply cannot win.

Varun and Jennie were leading the class as expected and they started with setting up area of magic around the knight and then healing magic on James, Varun, Liam and Jennie who took the frontlines. A good formation to be honest. Then Leisha, Barbara, Sunri and Rosaline joined in too.

They did all in their might to chip away the HP of the knight but I think it is too strong from them. The knight charged its arrow and shot it on the ground in the group of students creating a flood that made it near impossible for them to stand still. Then another knight spawned in and this one had an axe. It started swinging its axe at the students and none could do anything. James tried to block the attack but the sheer force behind it made it neigh impossible. Not only were the knights simply more powerful, they had too much brute strength too. Classmates were being completely overpowered by the two knights but then another spawned in. This one was different. It felt like it had sentience and was giving order to other two. The knight commander then spawned in more knights. All level 84.

A dozen or so archers shot arrows infused with magic. Those arrows divided into hundreds over hundreds of arrows but they were useless. None even put a dent on the knights. Their HP is too high so even if they kept shooting all day long, they still wouldn't be able to kill all of them.

More knights kept spawning and soon casualties began. The knights bearing an array of weapons ranging from swords to grimoire. Stronger and stronger foes appeared and if it went on, a war could break out. These enemies possessed elemental shields too that provided them with resistance to specific elements.

As soldiers started dropping like flies, my classmates felt true horrors of war. This was almost nothing compared to what had happened back then but as these knights started consuming the dead bodies, the commander gave order to attack the whole city and kill every single human with no restrictions.

"They can't win." Layla said.

"I know." I jumped down slamming my foot into the first knight that hand spawned, crushing its head and killing it instantly.

"Huh? Kenji? How did he-" Jennie was shocked at the difference in our strength.

"I know you can understand me. Who are you?" I asked the commander.

"You reek of corruption." He started laughing. "You are beginning to awaken it and you'll become just like us. We are the royal army that tried defending the kingdom of Munioko and rest all those years ago in the war against humans. We received the curse to roam the mortal realm for eternity. We weren't worthy of neither hell nor heaven... not even purgatory. We are here to take what is rightfully ours!" He announced as he spawned in even more knights.

"So... that's the route they've decided..." I whispered to myself. "I prefer if you don't do it." I said to him. "This is not the right path."

"Right...? What exactly is right? And what is wrong? It's all contradictory. Right is what majority decides. Right is we. We lived a fulfilling life! We had family and friends and it was taken away and for what?! We deserved better." The knight commander started emitting corrupted energy. It was too dense that exposure for long periods of time might make anyone fall sick.

"This isn't the right thing to do. These people have nothing to do with past or the war. Those people are long dead!" I know the future. If I allowed this to happen, we will lose. I will stop this no matter what.

"We never had anything to do with the Gods too! And yet we suffered! Revenge is the only way forward and our princess has made her decision."

"This will go south! You will lose control of all those knights you keep spawning in. Once they gain consciousness, they might rebel and destroy the world. Whatever you're doing will result in the worst possible outcome."

"Worst possible outcome is the destruction of this world so it works in favor anyways. That is our end goal. Goal of our princess."

Princess? So there is a leader to all of these knights? But I've seen the past. I can't remember a princess ever being mentioned.

"There is no debating with you idiots, huh. Fine... I'll just kill you." I flew up in the sky activating the full potential of mirror of honesty. The platoon of knights roared and started charging towards me and the classmates and soldiers behind me.

"SILENCE!" I shouted before slamming my foot on the ground creating a vortex of fire and water which engulfed all the knights and killed them in one go. This was for now my strongest attack that was an upgrade of water lotus. I called it 'Twin Vortex' because of two elements being.

The knight commander was shook to core by the display of my strength and teleported away.

As the dust settled, I could feel the stares. I sighed and turned around to face my classmates and my former team.

"Don't think even for a second that we would thank a traitor like you! We would've managed it ourselves and stop sneaking into the kingdom! You do not belong here!" Barbara shouted at me.

"Oh- You could've managed? Fine. Then... can you manage against me?" I asked with a smirk. I can't always be here for them so I could at least test their strength. "I currently possess five divine class artifacts, a unknown rarity weapon and stars of talent. Right now, I may be too overpowered so I will cut you some slack and I will not use any of those stars, weapon and artifacts. Sounds good?" I asked and snatched a normal sword from a solider and smiled at them.

"Fight if you don't want to die." I said as I took a stance. The weapon was a normal weapon with no passives, sub-stats or even levels. It was just an iron sword. I know they will lose but I want them to go all out on me.

Jennie picked up her best sword. It was a weapon with decent stats but nothing overpowered.

"I will fight you alone." She charged at me. I dodged it rather easily. She was most likely up there in terms of strength so she could be good base for me to guess how strong rest are. She would give a good reference point.

I flickered through Jennie defeating her in just one hit. Not yet. She is too weak.

"I see. This is..." This was disappointing. I used absolutely none of my powers and yet this was the result.

I flew away from the scene and wondered how things are going. I have to report on my new findings and then maybe I'll team up with Lizette and deal with this group of knights and this princess. War can't break out yet. Kristine is also on her own journey. I do have the best girlfriend. And my classmates... Yeah... They might end up dying.
