Chapter 41: The Awakening of the Forgotten

The roar echoed across the desolate expanse, shaking the ground beneath us. The jagged stones hummed in resonance, their vibrations pulsing like an ominous heartbeat. I clutched the Heartseed tighter, its radiant glow cutting through the oppressive darkness around the monolith. 

Behind me, the clash of battle continued unabated. Silvermane's wolves fought with feral precision, their claws rending through the grotesque forms of the Corrupted creatures. Ember's flames danced wildly, a beacon of defiance in the ever-creeping shadows. 

The monolith loomed before me, its runes flaring in chaotic patterns. Each pulse of light seemed to tug at the Heartseed, drawing it closer like a magnet. I took a deep breath, summoning the strength to steady my trembling hands. 

"What are you waiting for, Lei Shen?!" Ember's voice rang out, sharp and urgent. 

"It's not that simple!" I shouted back. "This thing—it's alive!"
